You are misusing the word of God. There is no suggestion that His appearance is a brief one. That is you manipulating the word so as to give that appearance.
He doesn't set up an earthly kingdom. He gathers together His elect and pours out judgement on the world.

One of the main reasons I dont hold to Pre Trib teachings is that those who do seem to believe that their eternal salvation and destination depends on their beliefs about the rapture. Mine depend on the finished work of Christ and my faith in him

I do not post here to get into a HEATED DEBATE. I post to encourage the younger brethren who believe like I do.
I know what I believe is TRUTH, because the Spirit of Truth is in me, and SO IS THE SPIRIT OF JESUS CHRIST.

I have NEVER heard anyone teach that, and I moved a lot over my lifetime, and NOT ONE CHURCH EVER TAUGHT THAT. WE ARE SAVED BY GRACE THRU FAITH, and THAT IS NOT OF OURSELVES.

Whether or NOT you have the invite to the WEDDING IN HEAVEN, may have a lot to do with what you believe about the Rapture, but personally I think it has more to do with, DO YOU REALLY KNOW HIM IN YOUR HEART.
If you miss being CAUGHT UP, you will end up HAVING TO REFUSE the mark of the Beast, becoming a beheaded martyred saint, to assure you are one of the TRIBULATION SAINTS. I used to be a Volunteer Prison Chaplain, and I had lots of inmates say, "Refusing the mark is easy, because nobody can make me do what I do not want to do, no matter what they threaten me with." AND I would say, "Can you watch them behead your two year old boy, or your baby daughter and NOT TAKE TO MARK TO SAVE THEIR LIVES?" They would lose the bravado quick, get eerily quiet, and just stare at the floor.

I CORRECT MYSELF, I should have said, ALL pretribbers I have gone to Church with. Because I am aware of the Charismatics and Pentecostals who think they are spiritual Israelites, therefore they think it is possible for them to part of the 144,000. Which means they have NO CONCEPT of why SEALED 144,000 JEWS.
Since I first left the Lutheran Church after I was born again, 29 Dec. 1978, all of the Churches that I have been associated with, have been of the conservative Evangelical variety. There were 2 Evangelical Free Churches, 2 Bible Churches, 1 Independant non-demnominational Baptist Church, 2 Bible Fellowship Churches, 3 Community Churches, 2 Evangelical Lutheran Churches, 1 Baptist Church, and 1 Grace Brethren Church. Yeah, we moved a lot.
