Had an awkward moment once....
On starting a new job I was quickly promoted to head of the bicycle department. I had seen the fax machine in the managers office but never used one before. I didn't even know what it did so I asked another employee who said "You can fax things to people"... Amazing how technology has come along" I thought to myself...
Well. One bicycle manufacturer had a few bikes that needed parts so I swopped parts so that only one bike was out of use. I then phoned up the manufacturer for the first time to ask what to do with the bike as it had quite a few did parts on it.
The man answered. He said he would send a lorry to pick it up.
Well trying to impress I said "No need. I'll fax it to you....." After an awkward silence he said "OK, you do that then!" and I put the phone down and proceeded to the managers office with the bike.
Squeezing the bike in the office I looked at the fax machine. I was just trying to fathom out how such a large object could go into the fax machine (Fax machines were bigger back then) when my manager came in. He said unrepeatable words that translated mean "What are you doing with that bike in my office?"
I told him I was faxing it to Universal Cycles.... He said "You have never used a fax machine before have you?"
He then took the next fifteen minutes showing me how it worked in detail.... I was embarrassed... I asked the manager "You couldn't phone Universal Cycles for me could you?" Umm. He had me do it!
I rang the man and confidently said "Tell you what. I'm going to need that lorry after all!"

The awkward moment when this happens when I visit my parents for the weekend and this guy sees me with my parents at a festival and after him talking to my parents for a bit, he sends me a message on Facebook.......

your Pastor is giving his all to preach and you are sitting in front... Then his dentures fall out...
You are holding your breathe so hard not to laugh because you don't want to embarrass him some more.. but you burst out laughing....

That moment when you had got up at 5:30 am to go over the class material you are teaching in class at church on a Sunday morning, and after you took your shower and had your cup of coffee and nutritional nut-cased bar you begin to get dressed because you only have 20 minutes left to be there and you realize - you have forgotten that Saturday was Laundry day, and you have, not one pair of pants, unfettered that can be worn to Church and no time to alter the inevitable: Wearing shorts to church you emphasize God has freed us from condemnation and demonstrate an aura of calm confidence acting like Jesus (live in person) would wear shorts to church today if He was with us in service.
