Sorry, but there seems to be a veil over the eyes of bible teachers today about the rapture of the church. You can look up pre-trib rapture in the encyclopedia and it will tell you that it was created by John Darby around 1830, that is an historic fact, he went around the country promoting his false doctrine and people loved it because it was a supposed way out of the tribulation. Pre-trib is an end time deception designed to cause many to give up the faith when Christ does not return pre-trib as they have been told that He must.

pre-trib was unknown in the early church. It was invented by Darby & co,

WOW, and you swallowed that lie, hook line and sinker. John Darby died 29 April 1882.

I REPEAT:

St. Irenaeus (c. 130–202), an early Christian Premillennialist.

Irenaeus and Justin represent two of the most outspoken premillennialists of the pre-Nicean church. Other early premillennialists included Pseudo-Barnabas,[SUP][21][/SUP] Papias,[SUP][22][/SUP] Methodius, Lactantius,[SUP][23][/SUP] Commodianus[SUP][24][/SUP] Theophilus, Tertullian,[SUP][25][/SUP] Melito,[SUP][26][/SUP] Hippolytus of Rome, Victorinus of Pettau [SUP][27][/SUP][SUP][28][/SUP] and various Gnostics groups and the Montanists. Many of these theologians and others in the early church expressed their belief in premillennialism through their acceptance of the sexta-septamillennial tradition.

Premillennialism has nothing at all to do with the Pre Trib beliefs. The clue is in the name. It is the belief that Christ will return before the Millennium. While speaking of early Church beliefs the Didache is believed to have been written around 125AD making it one of the oldest known Church writings outside the NT. It includes the teaching of the Antichrist
the tribulation and the second coming in that order. No mention is made of a Pre trib rapture at all. It would have been very strange for such an important teaching to be forgotten so early in Church history as suggested by Pre Tribbers and needed John Darby and his cult to revive it.

But have you read the fantastic ideas they had? You can have those if you want:) And it is not true to say that the early church was premillennial. Only a few writers were, and they had weird ideas with it.

Jesus, Paul, Peter ad James never mention it. Nor does Hebrews. It is a misunderstanding of Revelation

Pre-trib is an end time deception designed to cause many to give up the faith when Christ does not return pre-trib as they have been told that He must.
It is not a way out of the Tribulation, it is a personal invite to be in attendance at the Wedding of the Lamb in heaven.

Perhaps you did not get an invite, thus you do not believe?

I do not make things up.

Mede suggested that this particular burning would only be a purification and not a total annihilation of the earth - which he placed after the Millennium ("Works," Book III, p.617). In regard to the rapture, Mede writes: "I will add this more, namely, what may be conceived to be the cause of this RAPTURE of the saints on high to meet the Lord in the clouds, rather than to wait his coming to earth....What if it be, that they may be PRESERVED during the Conflagration of the earth and the works thereof, 2 Pet.3:10, that as Noah and his family were preserved from the Deluge by being lift up above the waters in the Ark; so should the saints at the Conflagration be lift up in the clouds unto their Ark, Christ, to be preserved there from the deluge of fire, wherein the wicked shall be consumed?" ("The Works of Joseph Mede," 1672, London edition, Book IV, p.776)

Irenaeus
Irenaeus (130 A.D. – 202 AD) was a bishop of the church in Lyons, France. He was an eyewitness to the Apostle John (who wrote the Book of Revelation) and a disciple of Polycarp, the first of the Apostle John’s disciples. Irenaeus is most-known for his five-volume treatise, Against Heresies in which he exposed the false religions and cults of his day along with advice for how to share the Gospel with those were a part of them.

In his writings on Bible prophecy, he acknowledged the phrase “a time, times and dividing of times” in Daniel 7 to signify the 3 ½ year reign of the Antichrist as ruler of the world before the Second Coming of Christ. He also believed in a literal Millennial reign of Christ on earth following the Second Coming and the resurrection of the just.

On the subject of the Rapture, in
Against Heresies 5.29, he wrote:

“Those nations however, who did not of themselves raise up their eyes unto heaven, nor returned thanks to their Maker, nor wished to behold the light of truth, but who were like blind mice concealed in the depths of ignorance, the word justly reckons “as waste water from a sink, and as the turning-weight of a balance — in fact, as nothing;”(1) so far useful and serviceable to the just, as stubble conduces towards the growth of the wheat, and its straw, by means of combustion, serves for working gold. And therefore, when in the end the Church shall be suddenly caught up from this, it is said, “There shall be tribulation such as has not been since the beginning, neither shall be.”(2) For this is the last contest of the righteous, in which, when they overcome they are crowned with incorruption.”
Irenaeus in this passage describes the church leaving the sinful world just before unprecedented disasters. Note his use of the term “caught up” which is Rapture terminology as that is the meaning of harpazo, the term for caught upin the King James Bible describing the Rapture in 1 Thessalonians 4. He then quotes Matthew 24:21 where The Lord Jesus Christ says: “For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.” And it is during this time that those who convert to Christianity during the final years will receive the incorruptible crown mentioned by the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 9:25. In Irenaeus’ belief, the Rapture took place prior to the end times Great Tribulation.

Cyprian
Cyprian (200 AD – 258 AD) – Cyprian was Bishop of the church in Carthage. During his short stint as leader of the church, he guided the flock through intense persecution at the hands of the Roman Empire. In 258 AD after spending seven months of confinement to his home by order of Roman authorities, he was beheaded for his faith. Several of his works still exist today.

In
Treatises of Cyprian he wrote in describing the end times Great Tribulation:
“We who see that terrible things have begun, and know that still more terrible things are imminent, may regard it as the greatest advantage to depart from it as quickly as possible. Do you not give God thanks, do you not congratulate yourself, that by an early departure you are taken away, and delivered from the shipwrecks and disasters that are imminent? Let us greet the day which assigns each of us to his own home, which snatches us hence, and sets us free from the snares of the world and restores us to paradise and the kingdom.”
Again we see use of language commonly found in reference to the Rapture as Cyprian describes the judgments of the end times as “imminent.” And he makes his belief on the timing of the Rapture when he wrote that Christians will have an “early departure” and be “delivered” from the devastating global judgments that come during the Day of The Lord.
In line with the Apostle Paul who wrote that God has not appointed us to wrath, but salvation...” Cyprian expressed joy and encourages the believing reader to rejoice that the Church will be “taken away” before the disastrous Great Tribulation. Just as The Lord Jesus Christ in Matthew 24 used the same language of one taken away and the other left.” Additionally Cyprian references the mansions which The Lord Jesus Christ promises to come back and take His believers to in John 14.
“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” – John 14:1-3.

Ephraim The Syrian

Ephraim (306 AD – 373 AD) was made a deacon in the church in Syria in 338 and later became the bishop of Nisibis. Although he was made a “saint” in the Roman Catholic Church, he was not involved in Catholicism and did not even live in the Roman Empire until the final years of his life. The book Pseudo Ephraim was one of his still existing works. It was called “Pseudo” because of later dispute over authorship. However the book’s one reference to the rapture is very compelling:

In his work, On The Last Times 2, he wrote:
“We ought to understand thoroughly therefore, my brothers, what is imminent or overhanging. Already there have been hunger and plagues, violent movements of nations and signs, which have been predicted by the Lord, they have already been fulfilled (consummated), and there is not other which remains, except the advent of the wicked one in the completion of the Roman kingdom. Why therefore are we occupied with worldly business, and why is our mind held fixed on the lusts of the world or on the anxieties of the ages? Why therefore do we not reject every care of worldly business, and why is our mind held fixed on the lusts of the world or on the anxieties of the ages? Why therefore do we not reject every care of earthly actions and prepare ourselves for the meeting of the Lord Christ, so that he may draw us from the confusion, which overwhelms all the world? Believe you me, dearest brother, because the coming (advent) of the Lord is nigh, believe you me, because the end of the world is at hand, believe me, because it is the very last time.
Or do you not believe unless you see with your eyes? See to it that this sentence be not fulfilled among you of the prophet who declares: “Woe to those who desire to see the day of the Lord!” For all the saints and elect of God are gathered, prior to the tribulation that is to come, and are taken to the Lord lest they see the confusion that is to overwhelm the world because of our sins. And so, brothers most dear to me, it is the eleventh hour, and the end of the world comes to the harvest, and angels, armed and prepared, hold sickles in their hands, awaiting the empire of the Lord. And we think that the earth exists with blind infidelity, arriving at its downfall early. Commotions are brought forth, wars of diverse peoples and battles and incursions of the barbarians threaten, and our regions shall be desolated, and we neither become very much afraid of the report nor of the appearance, in order that we may at least do penance; because they hurl fear at us, and we do not wish to be changed, although we at least stand in need of penance for our actions!”
With a sense of urgency and strong warning, Ephraim writes that the end times are upon this world and could start at any moment. This text very clearly states the saints and elect of God, all born again believers in The Lord Jesus Christ, will be “taken to the Lord” before the Great Tribulation. Ephraim also identifies the Old Testament “Day of The Lord” and the end times Great tribulation as the same event (in line with the teachings of the Beginning and End Rapture Series). Ephraim quotes Amos 5:18 which says: “Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light.”

The point he makes is that a Christian should know the Day of The Lord is coming. In the first part of the passage Ephraim notes that:
“We ought to understand thoroughly therefore, my brothers, what is imminent or overhanging. Already there have been hunger and plagues, violent movements of nations and signs, which have been predicted by the Lord, they have already been fulfilled (consummated)” And not only that but that true Christians will be taken away before it starts.
Here he is describing the first 3 of the first 4 seals of Revelation 6 – wars, famines and plagues. These are the same end times signs Jesus Christ describes in Matthew 24:
And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. – Matthew 24:3-8.
Jesus describes these events as the beginning of sorrows.” He also says that when these things come to pass the end is not yet.” Ephraim’s writing agrees with this interpretation as he says those same events have been “fulfilled (consummated)” in his day, but it was still not the actual Great Tribulation. This also falls in line with Beginning and End’s Rapture series as explained in our article Who Are The Four Horsemen Of The Apocalypse? (The first four seals of Revelation 6 were opened at the time Jesus Christ ascended to Heaven. And the rapture itself does not occur until the opening of the 6th Seal.)

Ephraim in very strong language warns the reader not to be consumed with the cares of the world because the world in its current form, is coming to an end. As the Second Advent or Coming of The Lord Jesus Christ grows near, believers are to look to Heaven and set their hearts on pleasing God. It is clear that Ephraim distinguishes the Second Coming of Christ from the rapture, placing the Rapture before the Great Tribulation to come.

The Early Church Believed In The Rapture
The ancient writings are clear – the belief in the Rapture has existed since the days of the Apostles.

Although there are not a great number of writings on the end times from the early centuries of the church, there is no question that there was a belief in the Rapture among the church fathers and they taught it with strong language and scriptural support. In terms of the timing of the Rapture, the early church fathers placed it before the end times Day of The Lord/Great Tribulation. The writings of early saints in the church are not Scripture and should not be treated on the same level of the Bible. These writings also do not “prove” that the pre-Great Tribulation Rapture or the Beginning and End Rapture series are correct. Only rightly divided Scripture from the Bible can determine if a specific belief is accurate or in error. But the writings of church fathers can serve as useful commentaries (just as we use Bible commentaries today in our studies) and certainly prove that the Rapture doctrine existed well before John Darby and has been a part of Christian belief since the earliest day
s of the Apostles.

None of those people are presenting the pre-trib rapture that is being taught today, just because someone says that the church must go before the wrath of God does not make them pre-trib, post-trib that Jesus taught also teaches that. Read 2Thess 2: 2 and weep, because Paul made it plain that the church is not going until AFTER the Antichrist, and the tribulation is when the Antichrist persecutes the church...NOT THE WRATH OF GOD.

That is rediculous. I am pretrib and this verse flows perfectly with what i believe.

YOU LEFT OFF VS 3;
[FONT=&quot]2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.[/FONT]

I believe the AC will either be revealed right before or RIGHT AFTER the rapture.

In fact, the AC could round up every believer on the planet, and while in those holding facilities the rapture happen and we will not go through the GT. The initial arrest is not "going through" the GT.

No doubt, while in those facilities the post tribbers will be screaming "we told you!!! We told you we would go through it!!!"

Psssst, every one in there is going to either take a mark,or be beheaded.

No believers go through the GT.

I agree with you. You dont know. The truth is that the Pre Trib and all the Dispensationalist system was invented by John Nelson Darby and expanded and promoted by Cyrus Scofield. Darby started the Exclusive Brethren cult and his teachings were spread via Scofields notes. The Pre Trib teaching is derived from a cult.
First Tanakh, the "oh, I don't know" was an expression. Sorry you did not get it... The post was facts not something I 'took a stab' at. As I said, the rapture was brought back after the reformation.

It seems to me that you have an 'axe to grind' with Darby and others. The Scofield Bible simply gives the literal interpretation of the KJV. One does not have to use it to understand what is being said. simply look elsewhere.

You have to ask yourself just which eschatology is concidered being Deceived. Only one out of the many different eschatologies out there, the Question is Which one is the TRUE Word OF GOD!

If you pick wrong, you probably wind up for an eternity in the lake of fire. That is of course if that literal vision is only symbolic and the verse is talking about the past (Daniel 3) and the fiery furnace.

You know Tanakh, it is amazing that people talk about Paul's teachings no matter their eschatology, yet willingly discount the fact that he was Preaching/teaching the rapture event prior to the 2nd coming of the Lord.

I don't really know what your eschatology is but if you are not pre-trib, pre-milennial ,,,, then you are looking in the wrong direction according to the Historical, Literal, Grammatical interpretation of the Bible.

Have a good day Sir.

Pre-millennial is fine, pre-trib is a lie, do not put these two together, that is a way to sneak in the false pre-trib rapture. I have listened and read the pre-trib position for many years, it is full of schemes, manipulations, and outright lies. There is no such thing as a pre-trib rapture in the bible, Jesus did not describe one, Paul did not describe one, John did not describe one, however all three of those people described a post-trib rapture of the church. You can of course believe in a false pre-trib rapture, however in the end it will be bitterness because it is the end time fable and doctrine of demons that Paul said would come. Enjoy it while you can.

No believers go through the GT.
Except those who become Genuine Believers after we leave, and are beheaded for His Name's sake.

But they will still arrive in Heaven during the Wedding of the Lamb.

Revelation 6:9-11 (HCSB)
[SUP]9 [/SUP] When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the people slaughtered because of God’s word and the testimony they had.
[SUP]10 [/SUP] They cried out with a loud voice: “Lord, the One who is holy and true, how long until You judge and avenge our blood from those who live on the earth?”
[SUP]11 [/SUP] So a white robe was given to each of them, and they were told to rest a little while longer until ⌊the number⌋ would be completed ⌊of⌋ their fellow slaves and their brothers, who were going to be killed just as they had been.

Revelation 19:7-9 (NCV)
[SUP]7 [/SUP] Let us rejoice and be happy and give God glory, because the wedding of the Lamb has come, and the Lamb’s bride has made herself ready.
[SUP]8 [/SUP] Fine linen, bright and clean, was given to her to wear.“ (The fine linen means the good things done by God’s holy people.)
[SUP]9 [/SUP] And the angel said to me, “Write this: Happy are those who have been invited to the wedding meal of the Lamb!“ And the angel said, “These are the true words of God.“

Revelation 20:4 (HCSB)
[SUP]4 [/SUP] Then I saw thrones, and people seated on them who were given authority to judge. ⌊I⌋ also ⌊saw⌋ the people who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of God’s word, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and who had not accepted the mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with the Messiah for 1,000 years.

Like I said, those who chose not to Believe in the Calling Out to go to the Wedding of the Lamb in Heaven while God's Wrath is poured out on the WHOLE EARTH, may find their UNBELIEF left them with no oil in their lamps and and NO INVITE VIA THE HOLY SPIRIT.

[SUP]3 [/SUP] First, be aware of this: Scoffers will come in the last days to scoff, living according to their own desires,

When repentance, and salvation,is no longer available to the world, and the world persecutes the saints for three and one half years, those saints that remain at the of that time will be resurrected.

For the first three and one half years, repentance, and salvation,is still available to the world,so the saints will remain on earth.

When the beast claims to be God,and the world that follows him takes the mark of the beast, then reprentance, and salvation,is no longer available, and when they make war against the saints, and scatter their power then the resurrection shall happen.

There is no tribulation saints, but there is only one resurrection of the saints before the millennial reign of Christ, and one of the dead after the millennial reign of Christ, for the Bible says blessed is he that has part in the first resurrection, for the second resurrection has no hold on them.

Which Jesus said when He comes back, and there are saints that are hypocritical, then they shall not be caught up in the resurrection, but will be caught up in the second resurrection, and there will not be any second resurrection prior to the millennial reign of Christ, for if they missed the first resurrection, then they will get caught up in the second resurrection after the millennial reign of Christ.

If the resurrection happens pre-trib,those that were hypocritical will not be caught up,so how will they get caught up soon in another resurrection during the tribulation,or at the end of it,if they were rejected for their hypocrisy, and nobody can get right at that time after the resurrection, for it does not happen until the world takes the mark, and repentance, and salvation,is no longer available to them,so there is no way for them to get right with God,for it is taken away.

Once the resurrection happens everybody that did not get caught up will get caught up 1000 years later for the great white throne judgement.

The purpose of the 7 years period is to cause all people that do not love God to follow the beast kingdom, and take the mark, and bring Israel to the truth.

Also the Bible says the saints cannot be gathered unto Christ until there is a falling away first, the new age movement that unified the religions, and the time the world will not endure the truth of the Bible, but according to their own lusts, and Christianity rapidly declines in impacting the world, and the man of sin,New Age Christ, addresses the world claiming to be God,and he has the solution to achieve peace on earth, but then the saints are given in to his hands for three and one half years, and he shall destroy the holy and mighty people, and when he has accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, then the resurrection shall happen.

Is this a mid-trib belief? I ask only seeking info...I am not seeking to bait you.
