Dating sites are not as great as they make them to be.. There are many single people on chats and have a better outcome. I am single and hiding from dating sites because like it was stated it can be a scam.

Correct me if I'm wrong ladies, but from what I've heard from women (and men!) women might not be as interested in online relationships? It is very hard for me to get involved with someone online, and I haven't even felt an interest in romance with someone online! From what I've heard from friends they've have similar feelings. For me, I think it is the lurking fear that they might not be who they say. Even when I know and trust someone, I still hesitate to really open up about myself online because...who knows?

I've never been on a dating site, so I don't know lol. I don't think I would ever join one; I prefer a relationship of any kind to just happen naturally. I'm not gonna go advertise myself.
As far as are women less interested than men? All I can say is that I've had a few experiences, even here on CC lol, with girls showing interest in that. I think there are plenty on both sides, but women are probably more careful about it.

I was not trying to make fun of you, brother. I am in the same boat that you are. Rather, I was trying to make a certain "situational" play-on-words that I thought the ladies on here would appreciate and find humorous.
There are a [ small ] number of married couples on CC who met their spouses on CC when both of them were "single" -- tourist is one of them, and will be the first to tell you that "it is certainly possible" to find a mate on CC - even if the 'official' stance of the site is that it is not a dating site...

I've had nearly no trouble with women not wanting to date online.
But really, to truly open yourself up to someone is a risk, no matter how you meet. Before the internet we has the likes of John Wayne Gacy and Ted Bundy and others. Who not only were married, but popular among the wealthy and local politicians. When BTK started killing again he was married and a deacon at church. And that's just a few examples off the top of my head that were not related to the internet.
Actually with the internet it can be safer. We now have easy access to records that were once difficult to obtain.
I think the bigger problem of online dating is you meet a wider variation of people than you do off line. So you have more chances to meet the wring people (and I don't mean just scammers or violent individuals). But the upside is you get the chance to meet a wider variety of good people as well.
Often times the negative stories online involve people that don't use common sense and take big risks.
I saw this thread earlier, so I went to the play store, and downloaded 6 different dating site apps. Not much going on there. 2 of the apps are for Christians. Christian mingle has got to be the worst. I have never looked at online dating since I've been married for 11 years.

Oh, I almost forgot. Try online mobile gaming apps, that's where my wife met the guy across country she has been having a long distance relationship with.
