If we cannot save ourselves as you say then we can't save ourselves period.
So works are not there to help save us.

Works are evidence of being saved, wanting to be like Jesus as he has asked us to do and be.

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

I said we couldnt save our selfs coz we cant... period ..

Doing the works of God is a sure sign you are saved...

Doing the works of God is a sure sign that you're following His commands. For the millionth time, works don't save us..Christ does.. Accepting Jesus is the absolute sign that you are saved..

Truth is there is only one thing that will send us to hell.

A total, willfull rejection of Christs atoning sacrifice and applying it to us.

A genuine saving faith will produce fruit in accordance with repentance.

Folks are only saved when they get sealed by the Holy Spirit as children as God.

In the parable God was showing good soil/bad soil......the heart that receives/the heart that rejects.

The good soil receives the seed and it grows a great crop. The bad soil is where the seed falls among thorns, rocky soil and shallow soil.

God isn't chasing birds away or removing rocks or thorns as in the parable. He's just using this bad soil metaphorically as an example of the evil heart that rejects Him and rejects His truth.

God is making a comparison of man's heart. The heart of man that's the good soil receives the seed. These are those who are believers.

The heart of man that's the bad soil, the seed can't grow because the soil is bad. This soil is the rocky soil, the thorny soil and the shallow soil.

Also, we are actually saved before the sealing. The sealing of the Holy Spirit comes after we've been saved.

Ephesians 1:13, 14
In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of His glory.

It's like it all happens consecutively boom, boom, boom. We hear the message, we believe and then we're sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise.

Calm down, you are doing exactly the same as you are accusing others off.
Getting upset, name calling accusing.

I encourage us all not to walk in this way.

Yesterday I was getting upset and I made it clear but I hope I didn't respond with accusations and name calling. If so I am sorry.

If our disagreements spill over as anger then starts mocking and accusing then it's obvious we have a grudge, if we have a grudge because of being upset at perceived insults, mocking and actual insults mocking and return it, then Jimbo given a couple of your posts above concerning having to forgive then you come accross as having not forgiven and the same for everyone else.

We all need to remember that forgivness is not about waiting till an apology is made. If we do then it's going to affect us and us only.

We do works, not only because we want to, but also because it is required by God. BUT our good works DO NOT get us into heaven. They do NOT guarantee our salvation. They don't keep us our salvation. Nothing confusing about that, at all. We are to do good works to show God's love through us, but they do zippity to get us into heaven.

Sometimes I wonder if we're saying the same things only in a different way. I haven't read all of the posts so maybe that's what I should do first.

But, it seems like everyone believes/agrees that we're saved by God's grace through faith in Jesus' death on the cross for the forgiveness of sins. It's after that we seem to have the disagreements.

Are we maybe discussing genuine faith here......a faith that works vs a false faith, one that doesn't work? Or am I misunderstanding the two sides altogether?

JESUS is your salvation. THAT is a FACT. Yes, I deny what you believe, because it's not true. But I don't deny you as a person..

The faith alone believers in this thread are mocking Gods truth.. and are behaving like cowards for not having a repenting heart and continously making me out and others to be wrong...
