Yes it was a brutal regime historically. Your question is a good question, and had me thinking for a second.

I follow a Messiah that loves me so much that he saw my depravity, my sin, and my evil ways, and still had himself put on a cross to die for me. (I am included in the whole world).

Then after He died He restored to me the breath of life or the Holy Spirit that was lost in Adam.

He did this so that not only would I go to Heaven when I physically die, but so that He can come from Heaven to me, whilst I live.

That the life He breathed into me is eternal from that moment on, and no one will EVER take that, Him from me.

That is the Messiah that I know. One that does not hold my sin against me, one that will finish the work in me that he started.
That He will do this in the midst of my life, my sin, my suffering, my joy, my sadness, my mistakes, my service.

That Messiah is love!

That Messiah is mercy!

That Messiah is gracious!

That Messiah now lives in me, and you and all that answer His call for eternity.

God is an awesome God, to be revered, to be honored and to be loved. Because He loved me first.

This all sounds good except, it sounds like you do not change,
and your sins are still an issue in your life.

Now if your sins mattered to you and Jesus was setting you free from bondage to sin,
I would have thought you might have mentioned this.

And our goal is to be like Jesus, to walk in His ways, which also you have missed.

So what price are you paying to gain all this?
Is the old man dead and the new man raised to life, righteous, pure and whole?

And what are you sowing to, the Spirit or the flesh, reaping life or death?

You're focus is sin, my focus is on my relationship with God. You're focus is to try to be someone you never can be. My focus is let God finish the work He promised to finish in me.

My goal is certainly not to be like Jesus. That would be me trying to live a life that I never can live. My goal is to point people toward Jesus so they can have everlasting life.

Our sin matters to us ONCE we are saved from the guilt of sin. But it is not part of a bargain. It is our grateful response.

But walking in His ways FOLLOWS because we have been saved from the penalty of sin. It is not required in order that we might be justified.

So what price are you paying to gain all this?

If you knew Rom 5 & 6 you would know the answer. It is the result of being Justified. We have then died with Christ.

Rom 8. A RESULT of being justified. It plays no part in our justification.

This is true for a Jew of the Old covenant. But for a Jewish obeliever in Christ James who says that does not refer to all of those laws but rather focuses on the law of the 10 commandments.
