Today, I got my first haircut of the year. For reasons unknown this always seems to be a traumatic experience for me and I tend to put it off as long as possible. Sort of like going to the dentist. That visitation is coming too. Sometime down the road. It's not a matter of priority but rather based on my tolerance for pain. My last trim of the hair was some time ago being the day after Christmas last year. It grows fast.

Admittedly, I am a procrastinator. It seems that to affect a positive change in me is as hard as pulling teeth. This must change. By the grace of God and with the love, support and understanding of my wife it will certainly happen.

To be honest I was starting to look like a hippy. A little long in the tooth. Not a flower child or power to the people type of hippy but getting a little shaggy and ragged otherwise. Getting my hair cut was my wife's idea. She is the brains of this operation. In fact, she insisted upon it and she came with me to make sure it was cut to her liking. I don't blame her, it's as she says, she just wanted me to look like her stud of a man.

Even though I'm employed she told the girl to cut my hair to look like I'm ready for a job interview. My wife says that I now look a whole lot better but she may need to touch it up a bit when she finds her little scissors. Put on the finishing touches.

Now I'm looking at the new me. I tend to reinvent myself every few months or so out of necessity to survive and to stay on top of the current situation. Gotta go with the flow. Or maybe it's time to change the dynamic. Anyways, I feel better. I feel like a sharp dressed man. Maybe I'll even start to thrive. It's been a long time coming.

Power to the people.

And the sign said "Long-haired freaky people need not apply"
So I tucked my hair up under my hat and I went in to ask him why
He said "You look like a fine upstanding young man, I think you'll do"
So I took off my hat, I said "Imagine that. Huh! Me workin' for you!"

The hairy situation was resolved. In the two years we have been married we have had a few ups and downs. Hit a couple speed bumps but things are trending upward. Thank you for your concern my friend.

We still would love to see you if we ever get back to Vegas. Maybe we could go to Circus Circus, hit a few slots and then do brunch in the buffet they have there. They have quite a spread going on there. Last time we ate there, to show how tough I was, I bit of the end of a habanero pepper and swallowed it. She warned me not to. I tired to quench the fire blazing in my insides by guzzling a copious quantity of ice tea. It was a very painful, self-inflected experience.

I really have to start listening to what she has to say.

I guess that some guys learn the hard way. That's how I roll 'em. I'm all in.

I admire your relationship.
You're happy, and that's what counts.

BTW, always listen to the wife. She's there for your protection.

The offer stands. Come out to Vegas, Jer.
It'll be fun.
...we have lots of lights...everywhere.

It's trippy.
Bummer you cut your hair, you could have gone hippy out here.

I just came online and I saw Jerry made a thread and I was like oooh I gotta check this out he never makes threads:D and wow lol I couldn't help but laugh you and mom have a kind of life I think me and Stephanie would have in fact I pictured in my mind me in your place Jerry and Stephanie in moms except instead of a hair cut it's the doctor as I absolutely hate going to any kind of doctor most likely from my experience with cancer bringing up bad memories.

I long for the day Stephanie and I can have a life together like you and mom, like if I can only somehow make 500 extra dollars a month I could live there in Arizona with here but working with my body is out of the question not to mention even if i did work for every 2 dollars I make a dollar is taken from my check. except with making money online that is the exemption.
lol sorry Jerry I didn't mean to make the thread about me seeing you and mom living together having a life like that together just makes me long for that I guess lol

Actually, I would love to hear about the adventure of everybody's day to day living. I do believe that one day, sooner rather than later you and Steph will be happily married and starting out your journey together as husband and wife.

About that extra $500 a month that you feel is needed to be with her, perhaps she will get a raise or a promotion for this amount or God will let you recover enough to work and earn enough to cover this amount regardless of your disability being offset 2 -1 for each dollar you make. I like the idea of earning money online too. Even a modest Ebay operation on your part could easily cover this amount. My wife does Ebay part time, doesn't make a lot, maybe 3 or 4 hundred a month but she only does it part time and there is tremendous opportunities for growth.

I understand how you feel about doctors.

I pray that God allows you and Stephanie experience the adventure of being together in marriage. My own journey in life has been quite amazing regardless of the seemingly hard circumstances that get in the way. It is how you allow God to let these experiences shape you that defines who you are.

Don't be discouraged my friend. Your time will come. You will soon discovery that many such journey's are possible.

Thank you for your wise counsel. One thing that I have learned in life is the secret to a happy life is to have a happy wife.

I do feel that we will be going back to Las Vegas, perhaps in a year or two. I'll have to grow my hair.

Leave the lights on for us.

Basically, you sell stuff. Seems that there are a lot of people who just love to buy stuff online regardless of the cost of the item. Currently, she buys certain types clothing items at a discount that seem to be in demand. For example, she will buy something at Goodwill for a few dollars and list it for 2 or 3 times what was paid. Or she will visit web sites and look for stuff that is a bargain, purchase it and then list it on Ebay. It's not hard and thousands of people do this. Always room for more.

Yes, she also hand makes things too but mainly it's a reselling operation. I'm thinking about doing the same thing.

Our second hand stores here have started charging so much for certain items, especially brand name, no matter what condition they are in, that it is pathetic and hardly worth shopping bargain basement at times to get someone else's cast offs and be gouged for it... but more power to you if you can make ends meet easier this way :)

My daughter buys lots of stuff online, but sometimes it can be tricky, for instance a book she bought was supposed to be first edition but it was not, and other times, the delivery takes so long that no formal complaint can be made when the merchandise is defective or never shows up. I like to look at things online, especially purple things (haha, no surprises there, huh?) and I did buy a pair of runners online last year, but another problem is the colors do not always translate properly, and I am fussy about the color...

I mean, I already had two pairs of runners that were in the magenta range (one was tending almost to burgundy which I do not care for at all) and so when I saw this pair that looked more mauve I was impressed, until they arrived in the mail looking very magenta and not mauve at all :( I do still buy most of my clothes second hand, though, and great deals are still to be had on a good day :) I know people can make a living at turning things over. Digital has changed so much in our lives... So much that it is alarming at times!

I know on eBay people tend to like items that are either collectible, useful, or practical. I see a lot of electronics, cars, memorabilia on there. A similar site, but doesn't run on a bid system, is Etsy. There you sell hand made products such as art, craft stuff, miniatures, etc.

She specializes in certain types of swimsuits, nightgowns and intimate women's apparel. I would say to just visit Ebay and see what items are attracting the most bids. I know that glass items could be a big seller. She has sold a few pair of shoes too. Hats might be a good idea. Books seem to sell too.

Anything people have a use for is in demand. Electronic cords and connectors are one thing my daughter buys online, because you can get a cord for two to five dollars compared to fifteen or forty five in the stores. When I had a television, the bulb blew out and the store that sold these bulbs wanted some ridiculous figure in the hundreds for it, while online I could get it for under one hundred dollars.

You have to be aware of things like the vender's reputation, because rip off artists are everywhere, and online anonymity just makes it easier for some. We had a case here some time ago about a guy who advertised online about selling a diamond ring, and a buyer showed up for it and murdered
the seller for a ring.

A few years ago there was a laptop available in Canada that was half the capacity of what was available in the States, and my daughter wanted one but not the one that was sold here, so she looked online, and found some for sale. So on Christmas day, we went to meet a total stranger at a corner gas station half way across town, to make a transaction where she was turning over hundreds of dollars. His story seemed legit, the laptop was still in the original packaging, he said he won it at a staff Christmas party and he had no use for it, being in the electronics field he had all he needed already. That was a good purchase for my daughter, as the device still works :)

I bought a similar one a while later, used from an online seller, and it eventually broke down, certain keys simply stopped working (how can you type???) and then I lost the network connection, bah, I just went out and finally bought a brand new device a few years ago and I am still using it :) I love the touch screen features :D

We recently bought a new lap top 'cause I inadvertently destroyed the last one. I was on the laptop eating chicken and got some grease on the keys. Tried to clean the keys using Windex. That was a no no. Moisture got inside and the keys didn't work anymore. I tried to get the back panel off to get inside so I could dry it. This is almost impossible. I managed to get a couple tiny screws out but then gave up and screwed them back in. The next day the problem seemed to resolve itself as the keyboard was working again. A month later one of the screws I removed and replaced stripped out and the back cover started to separate from the rest of the laptop. Now, the lid wouldn't shut. I think that this led to the cooling fan to burn out. We bought a new unit from Best Buy. I'm not allowed to munch on food anymore while on the computer. Oh yeah, no spraying of Windex or any other substance on the keyboard. The whole incident was an exercise in frustration and proved to be very costly.

I am always concerned about cat hair getting under my keys, but it is actually pretty solid in there compared to what we may have been used to before, with open space under the keys... I am not sure anymore if cat hair can actually get in there at all, and I am actually surprised that my "A" key works, cuz I pried it up so far trying to see under it, but it went back in place and continued to work after that, phew heehee.

I am sorry to hear of your costly error. I eat while online also but try to keep my touch pad and keys clean :D I don't use any substance but a bit of water on a cloth to clean my screen and keys. I would rather have a screen protector that does not show finger prints and such so much, but the stores that sell electronics do not sell those types of things, which seems stupid to me :p So I don't have one, even with a touch screen laptop; it operates both ways which is great, because I got used to the touch screen with my previous device that broke down, and I could not imagine not having that feature after that :)

Computers can be so frustrating when they don't work properly. I think many people's expectations around everything to do with electronics may be off the wall. How they work is a huge mystery to me :D Circuit boards and optic fibers, uh huh. Connectivity, you say? LOL. People isolate with their devices for connectivity. Some people see a great deal of folly in this. I can't say I blame them. What would we do if we lost power? We have become so dependent on these devices...

I get my hair cut every four weeks. He uses a number one blade on top (I'm bald up there) and a number two blade on the sides, with a taper cut. I'm the sharpest looking fellow in church, I am sure.
