Denial of the gospel at death, but even then we aren't completely sure in every case. If you had read my first post on this thread, it would clear most confusion up.

Do I know that I am an elect? Well, it is the same question as do I believe and remain abiding in the person and work of Jesus Christ alone for my salvation to and reconciliation with God? Only the elect come to embrace Christ. But even then, the apostle warns us to "be all the more diligent to confirm your calling and election" (2 Peter 1:10), and so it sobers us to examine ourselves to see if we are in the faith.
Is Christianity really this confusing?

I don't understand how it is confusing. As a former Arminian, it actually made sense of everything when I heard about it. Before, it was like I was formless and void, but then the Spirit of God hovered over me and then the lights came on.

I don't understand how it is confusing to believe that God has complete authority and control of my salvation.

I do see confusion with God subjecting his election to the creature's ability, begging the creature to remain faithful to the end, for Jesus to die hoping someone would hear about the cross and believe it, etc.

You can not even answer my simple questions and you don't understand how it is confusing?

It is not confusing in Christianity, that's your answer, rather it is you who is confused.

God having "complete authority and control of my salvation" is not Calvinist or Arminian. But a rather general statement of fact, accepted by both sides.

Not to the same extent. Arminians have boundries, and Calvinist don't bound God at all. I refer you to my first post, it is my conviction to withdraw a conversation on this subject with no fruit being brought forth.

"be all the more diligent to confirm your calling and election"

Why would anyone have to be "
diligent to confirm" something that is already predestined.

You either are or you're not according to Calvin.

Let me ask you this, did anything I show prove unbiblical? If I did, please correct my understanding in all of the verses I have quoted and abused to my agenda.

How can quoting a scripture be unbiblical?

Failing to understand it within biblical context is another topic..:p

We should never use any verse outside its context. I make sure of that before I post them.

Oh the fruit is being brought forth. It is the fruit of truth and it is sour to your tongue.

but Calvin would have embraced that verse. He knew that we had to make our calling and election sure. That did not affect God's choosing. He did not support easy believism

We tend to judge certain individuals by misunderstanding their principles. If he read anything of Calvin, it would strum the chords of his heart to love Christ more. He is not our idol, our head, or anything of that silliness. He did not invent another gospel, if anything was one of the most vocal preachers of the gospel in his time. I would be careful of accusing anyone, even a false teacher, of something I am not sure about, because that would be bearing false witness. I am tempted to point my finger at so and so because I've heard people talk down on so and so, however, they may have it all wrong and I may be found giving a hand to condemn a child of God and truths from Scripture. It is dangerous, I say

It was a spurning of this topic that lead me to unbury these precious truth from Scripture.

1 Ti 2:4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

I'm sure Calvin had a but, but!! for this scripture.

You just talked about not taking verses out of context, and now you are doing it. Read the verses preceding it, who does the apostle ask prayer for?
