Thought I'd repost this here..

My earthly shell is old, tired and useless. I am sooo ready to receive my new eternal, pain-free body. What a glorious day that will be. :)

I'll be the one doing cartwheels with a bunch of orange kitties chasing me.

I think I have to forfeit going grocery shopping tomorrow. My back isn't in any condition to handle that task. :(

I HATE this forum. Truly, sincerely loathe, hate and despise this forum.. :/

Ya know...
You really don't have to look at all the threads posted in BDF. I rarely do because rarely do any of the threads sound like they will do me any good.

Even the ones that sound somewhat interesting rarely have anything that I consider to be of value. In fact, now that I think about it, I can't think of anything I read in the BDF that particularly benefited me (other than this thread). And I can only wonder if anything I posted benefited anyone else.

Somehow I don't think it is just about looking at threads. Post something and people brutally attack you, make all kinds of assumptions, level false accusations against you, repeatedly accusing you of things you did not do or say, berate you for having an opinion, call you mean and nasty if you defend yourself, and all kinds of ridiculous nonsense. Should this stop us from standing up and speaking truth to lies? I for one say no :) The ignore button is there for a reason. When people become too arrogant and abusive for me to stomach, I use that option.

Just out of curiosity, Rose...

Have you been writing a lot of visitor messages on other people's pages?

The majority of visitor messages I get are replies to things I've written to other people. Generally, if you want messages... you have to do A LOT of initiating (or at least, this has been my experience.)

I know you were talking about your lack of visitor messages in another post as well... The best advice I could offer is to write nice things on other people's pages, and they'll usually make a reply--although sometimes they will reply to your message on their own message board rather than yours. Sometimes they don't write back, either... and really, it's not a big deal.

Also, keep in mind, your account is still "fairly" new--many of the people with a lot of visitor messages have been here a while and have gotten to know several members over time. Who do you know here that you could write a cool message to, and most likely get a reply from?

Best wishes!

I've been on CC for about a year now and I never noticed "visitor messages". I suppose I should look into that, huh?

Another thing I have noticed is that people resent it if they disagree with you and then others come and agree with you, and disagree with them. Then the people that agree with each other are accused of ganging up on others, as if we have no right to agree with those we do unless we agree with the person who is making false accusations. If they agree with others they do not call themselves a gang that is unfairly ganging up on the person they are against for whatever reason.

Rose, I just checked my "Visitor Message" page right now... and my entire first page (and probably the majority of them) are all replies from people I wrote to first, whether on THEIR message boards, or in PM (complimenting them on a post, asking a question about something they said, wishing them a good day or week, etc.)

Some people also have a good flow of messages going with people they know well on the forum, and like to "harass" (tease and joke with) on their visitor pages.

Don't feel too badly :).

It's easy to miss the "Visitor Messages" tab because many people have it disabled in their profiles, so it doesn't even show up.

Yeah, lll generally just avoid any thread that I dont feel that Id have anything productive or informative to say in it : p I might read some if the title grabs my interest but even then I wont post unless the junk I wrote ^there.

I dont seem to have the problem that many others do with this forum, people disagree on most things, and sometimes theyll talk about it, and the ways they can disagree with each other can be un-good. But I dont really believe this forum is really this toxic dump filled with rage and anger, as others seem to. Even if someone makes me grumpy on here, Im usually pretty good at keeping it at that conversation and leaving it there : p

I agree that if a thread is really bothering you that much, dont read it : p
