you know dc i sometimes stare at your picture and think now he looks one cool brother... but then you come out with all this verbiage and noun and verb and past tense rubish to prove a make belief doctrin,,,,,, of works salvationists,,, that dont exist...
Believe what you want....God inspired the verbiage, verb tense and context.......only a fool would reject the bible as originally written under inspiration........and for the record...I am cool

God encourages good work ONCE WE HAVE BEEN SAVED. That is one purpose of our salvation. We are saved to serve.
Why do you think we are saved? To change us from seeking badness to seeking goodness. .

God's love is unconditional, yes, but salvation is conditioned upon faith in Christ's work on our behalf, for He paid the sin debt when He poured out His righteous blood unto death on the cross due to His great love for us that we may be reconciled to God

..., except I would personally say it like this: "get into it," instead of, "get over it," and trust Jesus instead of yourself! We have always believed in the same entry process and guarantee of Salvation in Jesus Christ on a Cross, that we are saved by grace. But, Scripture speaks to me saying, "Faith is an empowered verb that I use! It's the actuality of that union God has provided thru Christ Jesus. Faith is love lived out in and thru me, not first, for Christ first loved me, but still in me as well with all His power!"
I still would love to hear your answers to my questions in #3017 to get to know you better and afford you a chance to show your heart to revere Christ as Lord. 1 Peter 3:15 tells me to always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks me to give the reason for the hope that I have. But that I should do this with gentleness and respect.
So, we have both laid down Scripture that proves "Works TO heaven" is worthless. But I also would like to prove that despite that, the realness of the New Creation in Christ produces, not only "good works" that we are empowered to accomplish, but that I can successfully surrender my life for the sake of My Lord's purposes and intentions, having ambition be put to death, along with individuality, and to become alive in a lifestyle of powerful service to God, pure and able to obey Him over Sin. You see I discern Satan working the room! He would love us to put the results of a New Creation in Christ: "good works" in with "Salvation thru works."....and call all those who say it isn't so to be unwise.
"I lay down My life.....I lay it down of Myself." (John 10:17-18). Our Lord is referring to the power He has of Self-sacrifice. Have you that power? Thank God you do! Do I have that power? Thank God I do! After Sanctification we have the power to deliberately take our sanctified selves and sacrifice them for God. It is an easy business to be self-sacrificing in mind - "I intend to do this and that," that is, I estimate what it is going to cost me. Paul said he not only estimated the cost, he experienced it. "....for Whom I suffered the loss of all things." As you go on towards maturity watch the by-path meadows -"I have been so blessed of God here, this is where I ought to stay." Read the life of Jesus, He kept His eye fixed on the one purpose His Father had for His life, which He calls going "up to Jerusalem," and we have to go with Him there.
One of the greatest snares is the number of good things we might do. Jesus Christ never did the good things He might have done, He did everything He ought to do because He had His eye fixed on His Father's will and He sacrificed Himself for His Father. It is not done once for all, it can only be done once for always, day-by-day, day-by-day, the sacrifice of ourselves to the will of Jesus, that is, self-realization is gone and Christ-realization has come in.
Difficult? Nothing is ever attained in the natural world without difficulty and the same thing applies in the Spiritual world. How many of us have learned the A B C's of concentration? "This one thing I do," our face set like a flint towards the purposes of God, not fanatically doing our duty, but going steadfastly on with the sacrifice of ourselves for Jesus as He sacrificed Himself for His Father.

Phi 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
We walk understand by faith the unseen not by that seen after we perform a work. Find out what it means to walk by faith and everything else will fall into place. If we are not freely given the down payment as a earnest, how would we have a living hope in anticipation of our new promised incorruptible bodies ?
Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.
Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:

His love is unfailing but not without conditions.
The first condition is did He love you by paying the eternal sin debt for your sin in full? Love rejoices with truth?
Did pay the wage in full according to His work of faith as a labor of His love?
Ther are rewards waiting for you everyday and in the new world... for instance the reward of walking againg with you treasured loved ones you will lose in your lifetime..Can't do it if a person does not first hear His voice..as His first work working in us. This is the ultimate comfirmation you will ever recieve to walk with loved ones again in the new world.
Now that said you will be judged for your Good works and your bad works come judgement day.
coz Judgment day is for all both believers and dis believers.. (The bible says so).
You will also recieve Due if Your Good works far out stretch Your Bad works..
God will also know when you where called upon to do your Duty and you did... only some wont do there duty when called upon........WHY................ because we have many bail outs... its a bit like a soldier who was called upon to do his duty to protect his army friends,,,,,,,only he goes awol and runs of and leaves his army mates stranded and doesnt come back......
He gets arrested for deserting and is thrown in prison...
Well guess what thats the same for many in this thread God call upon us to be kind to are fellow brothers and has allready prepared that in advance by showing us the word.. only guess what. all im getting is bitterness and resentment here in this thread..

Becuase i dont think there is such a thing as a works based salvationist.... who believes Good works is the only way to heaven.........no i dont because it is aslo a good work to obey his teachings which comes from faith....
So why would i agree with such a concept,, because im a catholic ? .. no..
