He came the first time to complete Isa 61:1-2 but not all of verse 2.
When He returns, He will complete verse 2 and forward through verse 7.

The peace that passes understating is not for the world- but for those who don't belong to the world. And like I said, we do experience this peace/rest now and also in heaven. And the sword is also spiritual. He will turn a mother against daughter, etc because there is a spiritual war going on, not a physical one. Jesus says if someone slaps you on one cheek offer the other- that is a spiritual battle.

There is no day that is the Sabbath now but Jesus Himself - it is not Saturday or Sunday or any other day. Jesus said that the law was fulfilled in Him. Paul said in Col. that the law was a shadow of the real substance which is Christ.

The Law of Moses spoke of Christ Himself. Get this wrong and we create a works-based religion of mixing the Old Covenant with the New Covenant and make a complete mess out of both of them.

There remains therefore a Sabbath rest for those that "believe" in Christ and cease from their own works ( Like Sabbath keeping by trying to observe a certain day ). Heb. 4:9-11

So, let's not lead others astray and desert Christ for the Law of Moses and commit spiritual adultry on our Lord. Rom. 7:1-6.

I would agree. Sabbath it’s not a time sensitive word. It means rest with no other meaning attached.

The Holy Spirit calls it To day. If we have our Sabbath rest in Him today we have in effect heard his voice .Our response to that work of hearing God. We believe Him For a faith without works would be dead . God's word is alive.

He informs us as a loving commandment it is He who does make our heart soft by giving us His rest.

Heb 4:7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, "To day", after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.

The rest is still future and will not come into full realization until we receive our new bodies of death As long as we live in these bodies of we have an opportunity to enter it as we do hear His voice.

So the Sabbath as a ceremonial law remains ,but shadows are not the substance and therefore we cannot judge one another in respect to one. Shadows and types used in various parables as ceremonial laws are used to preach the coming.

They are not the result of coming. That will appear on the last day when we do enter His rest.

The key would be having a proper understanding in respect to the phrase “mix with faith” seeing the lack of it prevents us from entering His rest.

Many have already told you that they follow Christ and not any day - Saturday or Sunday. That Christ Himself is our true Sabbath. The Sabbath is a picture of Christ as He is the real substance - not the law of Moses. We are not going to desert Christ for your law keeping.

Unfortunately you are exchanging Christ Himself for the law of Moses and you are in essence breaking the 1st commandment of the very Law of Moses that you tell others to keep.

We live by the life of Christ within us now - not a carnal following of a command from the Old Covenant.

As far as the 10 commandments go - here is what Paul said about them.

The 10 commandments were called the ministry of condemnation and of death by Paul. We can trust the life of Christ in us to live godly in this world.

The grace of God "teaches" now in the New Covenant how to deny ungodliness and to live sensibly, righteous and godly in this present age - NOT the law of Moses. Titus 2:11-12

The 10 commandments are called the "letter that kills" and the "ministry of death" - The New Covenant is called the "ministry of the Spirit" that brings Life.

The law of Moses including the 10 commandments are like an x-ray machine - they show up things that are wrong but the x-ray machine has no power to "fix it".

In relation to the Sabbath - it shows that we are not resting in Christ Himself and His finished work of the cross and resurrection but in an external keeping of an ordinance. Jesus Himself is our true Sabbath rest and He is the real substance in relation to all the law of Moses.

Don't be fooled by Judaizers who are trying to get you to "observe a certain day" - as this will rob you of the true life of Christ which is only found in Him by grace through faith alone.

I can not find any where in the Bible where God said we could chose which of the commandments we kept. Nor that we could change the day.

Exodus 31:12–13 stresses again the truth that the sabbath signifies our utter reliance on God's grace.
And the Lord said to Moses, "Say to the people of Israel, You shall keep my sabbaths, for this is a sign between me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I, the Lord, sanctify you."
The sabbath is a sign. It points to a truth that we are never to forget. The truth is that God (and not we ourselves) has sanctified us. He has chosen us and set us apart and worked to make us distinct among the peoples of the earth.

Traditionally, Christians consider Sunday to be the sabbath. How that came about, I don't know, but I'm not about to deprive myself of the church experience just because they might be off by a day. None of us is perfect.

Since Christ is the Christian’s High Priest and He was of the tribe of Judah, not Levi (cf. Matt. 2:1, 6; Rev. 5:5), His priesthood is clearly beyond the law which was the authority for the Levitical priesthood (cf. v. 11). This is proof that the Mosaic Law had been abrogated. The Levitical system was replaced by a new Priest, offering a new sacrifice, under a New Covenant. Christ abrogated the law by fulfilling it (cf. Matt. 5:17) and providing the perfection which the law could never accomplish (cf. Matt. 5:20).

John gave us exactly what His commandments are as you read his letter. Only John talks about keeping His commandments and John ought to know what they are.

It is NOT the law of Moses. Law-keepers see the word "commandment and law" and all they can see is the law of Moses. Law means a principle as in the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus which we live by now and the law of faith - the Law of Moses is NOT of faith. The law of love - the law of Christ Himself in us now.

Here John tells us exactly what those commandments are.

The purpose of the law of Moses was to expose sin and inflame sin and to lead us to Christ so that is why Jesus said not to water down the law to make it seem "do-able" and we do that by breaking them and those that water down the law of Moses will be called the least in the kingdom. They are still in the kingdom - it's just that they have not obeyed the Lord in the New Covenant.

All law of Moses keepers break the law of Moses all the time and they are the very ones that teach others we don't have to keep the whole law anymore. They have exchanged Christ Himself for their law of Moses keeping and thus broken the 1st commandment.

James says to break one law is to break them all. So, unless you are following the 613 laws perfectly and still doing animal sacrifices - all law-keepers break the very Law that they try to get others in bondage to and try to get believers to desert Christ.

We will not desert Christ for the Law of Moses. We are in the New Covenant which is build upon better promises.

My encouragement to everyone would be to study the bible diligently for yourself and be willing to humble yourself to what the bible actually teach on the Sabbath. We need to study both the old and new testament in order to get the fuller picture of what the bible or God wants to reveal to us. There are scriptures which is harder to understand where it looks like the scripture contradict each other. Peter mentioned that about the writings of Paul. So people twist the word to their destruction. Yet to me truth exist and we must search for it with all our hearts and be willing to accept or to reject it. None of us can convince anyone of truth. Jesus said none come to Him unless the Father calls them. Let keep asking for wisdom and understanding and Our Father will give it to you.

Jesus said all the law and the prophets were fulfilled in the greatest commandment.

In the New Testament epistles there are only two references to the Sabbath (Col.2:16; Heb.4:4). Paul explains that this day is not a required day to be observed by Christians. The Hebrews in the Old Covenant were under an obligation that no longer applies to New Covenant Jews or Gentiles. There is no command after the death and resurrection of Jesus for the Church to keep the Sabbath as an obligation to Christ. As with much else in the older covenants, the Sabbath is a foreshadowing of the rest we find in Christ.

Here is an interesting page on the matter: Early Christians always met on the First day (Sunday) and never kept the sabbath!

Not good enough, just good as in perfect/complete.He will not share His glory with the clay he is forming.

His good work is good enough. If he began it he will finish it all the way to the end..

Remember it is God who does the mighty work in us to both will and do His good pleasure... according to the faith as a work of God, called a work of faith .By it we can as new creatures.... believe to the salvation of one’s new soul . We are to have no confidence in the dead flesh. nothing.

A imagined salvation comes from the imaginations of one heart as their own source of faith.(the unseen eternal) ) produced by a false pride. No man will be found with a righteousness of their own.

We are counted righteous through His work of faith not of our own faith which is dead in trespasses and sins. And because no one of their own volition seeks after God not seen, they therefore have no spiritual understanding.

As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. Rom 3:10

He must do the first work called the hearing of faith (Christ’s) it turns us toward him who has no form and then we can repent. We could never get our own selves right with Him .How would a person find Him so that then they could repent?

I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself thus; Thou hast chastised me, and I was chastised, as a bullock unaccustomed to the yoke: turn thou me, and I shall be turned; for thou art the LORD my God.Surely after that I was turned, I repented; and after that I was instructed, I smote upon my thigh: I was ashamed, yea, even confounded, because I did bear the reproach of my youth. Now my experience is Christ washed me clean, though I do stumble along the way
I am counted righteous through my faith and not my walk. And each stumble, I repent
confess and get myself right and carry on along the path.

We are counted righteous(imputed) by the work of Christ faith Having His faith in respect to one’s own self is simply to blaspheme the Holy name by which we are called.

Without Christ doing the first work every time, you can do nothing that could please Him. A person must be born again from above.

Jesus also said that the Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.

“The Israelites are to observe the Sabbath, celebrating it for the generations to come as a lasting covenant. Likewise, the fact that in no language do we see “Sabbath” similarly linked with Sunday, the first day of the week, is an obvious confirmation that this day never was considered the biblical Sabbath until later religious leaders tried to substitute Sunday for the true Sabbath day.

In the original autographs we find that the word Sabbath as rest term. Not a time sensitive word . The paraphrases seemed to have some difficulty in keeping with the original authgroaphs . to fast TWICE on a specific day (the Sabbath)" did not make sense to them .

The fasting twice in the Sabbath must of confused them. It was a prideful remark from a Pharisee . At that time period the oral traditions of the fathers as a oral tradition of men allowed the Jew to eat three what they called kosher meal on the Sabbath. The man was simply bragging he was more righteous ,he fasted only twice of that day.

The literal translation that does not add a time sensitive word reads

28 And on the eve of the sabbaths, at the dawn, toward the first of the sabbaths, came Mary the Magdalene, and the other Mary, to see the sepulchre,

It could be paraphrased as below. But again a rest term has nothing to do with a time element .Every day is a Sabbath day to a Christian

And on the last of the old testament Sabbaths (rest not week) ), at the dawn, toward the first of the new era of sabbaths, came Mary the Magdalene, and the other Mary, to see the sepulchre,

We are not to add others meaning to a word it can and does take away the authors intent.
