Hebrews 7:12-22 (ESV)
[SUP]12 [/SUP]For when there is a change in the priesthood,
.
this has to do with the change in the priest hood laws
this is not talking about the 10 commandment laws being changed here.
Hebrews 7:12-22 (ESV)
[SUP]12 [/SUP]For when there is a change in the priesthood,

Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
the peace we are promised is [not going to be in heaven], but here on earth- at that future time
Isaiah 14:7 (KJV)
The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet: they break forth into singing.
Psalms 37:11 (KJV)
But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
Daniel 7:22 (KJV)
Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High;
and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.
Daniel 7:18 (KJV)
But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom,
and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.
-a person would have to be inmortal not human
Daniel 7:27 (KJV)
And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven,
shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting
kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.
The second coming is in actuality a continuation of the first.
Luk 4:17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias.
And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,
Luk 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me
to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted,
to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind,
to set at liberty them that are bruised,
Luk 4:19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
Luk 4:20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down.
And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.
He stop reading just there, close the book, and sit down?
Isa 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me
to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
Isa 61:2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD,
And here is where He stopped reading in mid sentence.
Now the passage He quoted continues...
and [the day of vengeance] of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
Isa 61:3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty
for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD,
that he might be glorified.
Isa 61:4 And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations,
and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.
Isa 61:5 And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall
be your plowmen and your vinedressers.
Isa 61:6 But ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD: men shall call you the Ministers
of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.
Isa 61:7 For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their
portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.
He came the first time to complete Isa 61:1-2 but not all of verse 2.
When He returns, He will complete verse 2 and forward through verse 7.
He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country
to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.
There is no day that is the Sabbath now but Jesus Himself - it is not Saturday or Sunday or any other day. Jesus said that the law was fulfilled in Him. Paul said in Col. that the law was a shadow of the real substance which is Christ.
The Law of Moses spoke of Christ Himself. Get this wrong and we create a works-based religion of mixing the Old Covenant with the New Covenant and make a complete mess out of both of them.
There remains therefore a Sabbath rest for those that "believe" in Christ and cease from their own works ( Like Sabbath keeping by trying to observe a certain day ). Heb. 4:9-11
So, let's not lead others astray and desert Christ for the Law of Moses and commit spiritual adultry on our Lord. Rom. 7:1-6.

The rest is still future and will not come into full realization until we receive our new bodies of death As long as we live in these bodies of we have an opportunity to enter it as we do hear His voice.
what proof do you have for the tradaitions you follow?
The Catholic Encyclopedia reported:
“Sunday is our mark or authority...the church is above the Bible, and this transference
of Sabbath observance is proof of that fact.” Catholic Record of London, Ontario, September 1, 1923.
or this statement
We also send you the good news of the settlement concerning the holy pasch, namely that in answer to your prayers this question also has been resolved. All the brethren in the East who have hitherto followed the Jewish practice will henceforth observe the custom of the Romans and of yourselves and of all of us (who from ancient times) have kept Easter together with you.[13]
funny people they celebrate still a custom that started way before Christ died for our sins.
Unfortunately you are exchanging Christ Himself for the law of Moses and you are in
essence breaking the 1st commandment of the very Law of Moses that you tell others to keep.
Traditionally, Christians consider Sunday to be the sabbath. How that came about, I don't know, but I'm not about to deprive myself of the church experience just because they might be off by a day. None of us is perfect.I am sorry if my post upset anyone, it was not meant too.
I can not find any where in the Bible where God said we could chose which of the commandments we kept. Nor that we could change the day.
Yes Resurrection33, I chose not to join a church that does not keep the commandments,
I pray every day that God will put the truth in my heart and to show me the way.
Exodus 31:12–13 stresses again the truth that the sabbath signifies our utter reliance on God's grace.
And the Lord said to Moses, "Say to the people of Israel, You shall keep my sabbaths, for this is a sign between me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I, the Lord, sanctify you."
The sabbath is a sign. It points to a truth that we are never to forget. The truth is that God (and not we ourselves) has sanctified us. He has chosen us and set us apart and worked to make us distinct among the peoples of the earth.
this has to do with the change in the priest hood laws
this is not talking about the 10 commandment laws being changed here.
In the simplest manner, the author argued for the imperfection of the Levitical priesthood on the basis of God's promise (recorded in Ps. 110:4) that a new Priest would arise belonging to an order other than Aaron's. Since there was a change of the priesthood, it follows that the whole legal system on which the Levitical institutions were predicated also had to be changed. Here the writer virtually affirmed the Pauline truth that "you are not under Law" (Rom. 6:14), though he approached it from a different angle.
The Bible Knowledge Commentary: An Exposition of the Scriptures by Dallas Seminary Faculty.
Since Christ is the Christian’s High Priest and He was of the tribe of Judah, not Levi (cf. Matt. 2:1, 6; Rev. 5:5), His priesthood is clearly beyond the law which was the authority for the Levitical priesthood (cf. v. 11). This is proof that the Mosaic Law had been abrogated. The Levitical system was replaced by a new Priest, offering a new sacrifice, under a New Covenant. Christ abrogated the law by fulfilling it (cf. Matt. 5:17) and providing the perfection which the law could never accomplish (cf. Matt. 5:20).
The MacArthur Bible Commentary.
1 John 5:2 (KJV)
By this we know that we love the children of God,
when we love God, and keep his commandments.
Revelation 14:12 (KJV)
Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God,
[and] the faith of Jesus.
-
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets:
I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle
shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
- Christ said the law was not going anywhere, to back his statement up its said...
19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments,
and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven:
but whosoever shall do and teach them,
the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
-people say he did not say what he ment, care to explain plain verses here above,
about the least or the greatest here teaching the law? or about the oracles given to us?
15What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace?Romans 6:14 (NASB)
[SUP]14 [/SUP] For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law but under grace.
One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind. 6 Whoever regards one day as special does so to the Lord. Whoever eats meat does so to the Lord, for they give thanks to God; and whoever abstains does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God.It has been very interesting reading all your comments,
Sadly I am not as informed regarding the Bible as many of you, and I have a lot of reading to do, but from all I have read I can find no change in the 10 commandments or any where its says we can pick and chose which we will keep or not, What better way is there for me to show our Lord that I will do anything in this life to gain every lasting life with Jesus than to follow his commandments, to behave how he instructs.
God Bless.

So which is true? Does God do a real work in our hearts or is it just a fake surface
with an imagined salvation, and that is good enough for God?
Now my experience is Christ washed me clean, though I do stumble along the way
I am counted righteous through my faith and not my walk. And each stumble, I repent
confess and get myself right and carry on along the path.
Jesus also said that the Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.[FONT=open_sansregular] "If you want to enter into life, keep the commandments" ([/FONT]Matthew 19:17[FONT=open_sansregular]). Jesus' answer clearly showed He was speaking of the Ten Commandments.[/FONT]
Such widespread use of forms of the word Sabbath for the seventh day of the week, Saturday, is clear evidence that speakers of these languages understood which day is the Sabbath.
Likewise, the fact that in no language do we see “Sabbath” similarly linked with Sunday, the first day of the week, is an obvious confirmation that this day never was considered the biblical Sabbath until later religious leaders tried to substitute Sunday for the true Sabbath day.
