That was an awesome post thanks for sharing that. Ive always been confused about the garden. Im confused why the tree was even there. If god knows all then why did he set them up for failure since he knew what would happen. I have been told thats an offensive question so no answer is required. Thanks again for your comments
God didn't set them up for failure. THEY set themselves up. THEY had free will to either obey God, or listen to the serpent and eat the fruit. Had they chosen to not sin, this world would be a perfect place. Keep in mind, there are no coincidences. Every thing happens for a reason. Cause and effect, basically.

This kind of thing is what drives good people away from this forum. Instead of having a decent, polite and interesting conversation , yes even with people who come here and DONT believe in God. Ok Maxwel is obsessed with getting this guy to say he's an atheist. Why ? Do you get some kind of joy out of it? Is that going to bring you peace just because you won your argument? come on now, this is very petty. When a respectful person comes here, for whatever reason. Maybe to learn more about our views , as christians, we shouldnt ridicule him/her. Chickenkiller has been nothing but respectful so far, lets show him how we behave as christians , maybe such behavior will turn people to Christ . And if it won't thats fine too. We can still be civil. Anyway my two cents, sorry for the ramble. Carry on.
God didn't set them up to fail - it was a test of their loyalty to Him and yes they failed but they could have easily passes the test and we'd not be in the mess we are today...
I used to question God... Why did I have to be born on this black sheep of a planet, why couldn't I have been born somewhere else? Then I thought about that and yes, right at this moment we are the ugly step children, black sheep of the universe etc.... but one day when this is all over and Jesus has returned and the planet has been made new again the Bible tells us that God will live with man and we will have gone from the worst to the best and the reason is that it's only because God is with us...
That's going from last place to first pretty fast... and all the suffering we have been exposed to here won't matter anymore because God will be with us....
Plus after we and the universe has experienced what sin is and does it will never rise up again.

God put the tree of knowledge in the garden so that Adam and Eve would have a choice. God wants us to choose him over all else. He wants us to trust him to help us through, and if we trust him he promises to bless our lives now and eternally.
My problem is that I need more details on the actual situation. Like did god explain this to adam and eve. I would just like to have more information about the events. And that is where faith plays a major role. I think a lot of things in the bible need to just be accepted. For me I need more details.

Yes, He knew what would happen. But it was all part of his bigger, long-term plan. Without sin in the world, or more accurately, then Jesus wouldn't have needed to be born, and ultimately sacrificed for our sins. Past, present and future sin..
yes God told them that they could eat of any except that one particular tree. He expected them to obey and trust, but of course they were tempted and failed like everyone else on earth who has ever lived or ever will live EXCEPT Jesus the son who lived his entire life without sin.
if you need more details, that's where reading and studying the bible comes in. The more you read and study the more clear and undeniable it becomes, especially when you study the history and how accurate the scriptures really are. The bible partly is a history book explaining the relationship between God and mankind from the beginning and there have always been wars and violence in the world, so those things kinda stand out. The bible is very honest.
Yes, God is triune.. He is God the father, God the son (Jesus) and He is also God the Holy Spirit.
Jesus COULD have sinned. But being both fully man, and fully divine at the same time, He couldn't and didn't..Even though, as a man he had free will to sin..
Jesus is God and part of the holy trinity (john 1) and no he never sinned, that is the only reason why he can be the "lamb without blemish or spot" as was required in the old testament as a sacrifice for sin. That is what qualified him to take our punishments to make us blameless before God the father.
That is just beyond my level of comprehension. I think a lot of stuff just involves a feeling that a person gets from reading the bible. Its interesting how some people have this feeling and some don't. When you think about all the other religions involved it gets really interesting.
Was god also Jesus when Jesus was on earth?
Jesus was not a typical child, he was also God, the creator of everything even the people who he was communicating with. He had a great understanding at age 12, enough to make the religious elite of the time be "amazed".
