For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.
Titus 2:11-14

We are to live self-controlled, upright, godly lives, Amen.
Jesus redeems us from all wickedness and purifies us, Amen.

So why is there such disagreement about living righteously.

The subtext is you cannot live a godly life or be purified, all is
actually defiled and those who claim they can are hypocrites.

So scripture is defied and we are attacked. What a deceptive approach.
There is no disagreement about living righteously, You have conjured that up in your head.

The disagreement is that salvation is dependent on this.

This was your first post to me.. I did not engage you prior to this...

Yes you can throw out works. Unless you think God can not know our faith, God does not need proof, We may, But God does not.

That passage said Abraham was declared righteous (saved) before he did one work.

The work was a natural response to faith. Not an addendum to faith to help his get saved.

Teaching grace only, misleads.. that's all I'm combating
Teaching Grace only misleads who? And teaching Grace only misleads what?

What is misleading about teaching that we are saved by the Sacrificial death of God in the flesh, and subsequent resurrection of Jesus Christ?

THAT IS THE GOSPEL!

Now if your'e saying that AFTER accepting the Gospel, and AFTER we are filled with the Holy Spirit, we should encourage one another on to good works, and teach that maturing in Christ, is our calling, then I agree with that.

But NONE of those works have ANYTHING to do with be saved.

I believe the parable of the talents of gold explain all of this best.

When the Master returns I do not want Him to find the Gold He gave me buried somewhere getting filthy in the dirt. I want Him to find increase and bright and shining faith in me.....please pray to this end for me, any who do pray, and I will pray the same for all, I do

I am just going to state what I see,,

it is a danger adding works to the gospel. If you do not agree, then we will continue to clash, because to me that is a major issue.

if your not adding works to the Gospel. then we are ok. and will not clash. (just please note. just because you may say you do not, Does not mean you do not. No one except a few actually say the add works to the gospel, most deny it, yet preach it)

What was paul's words. The most important thing he needed them to hear was Christ and his crucifixion and resurrection.

I work out my salvation with fear and trembling.........just as we are taught to do. Please do not come baack with "perfect love casts out all fear,," ok?

My concern is my heavenly reward , if you are capable of understanding this without a torent of your own verbosity. You see our reward in heaven will be eternal..........eternity is forever......I sure would hate to be there almost penniless in the heavnly reward regard..........think........you accuse so often.

I am definitely a believer in the grace of God for salvation. - not of works - lest any man should boast. Eph. 2:8-10.

His life in me if I walk by the Spirit will produce good works - His fruit manifesting in and through me to others in this world to experience His grace and love towards them.

After all - He did die for us because of His great love, mercy and grace towards us all.

Acts 15:11 (NASB)
[SUP]11 [/SUP] "But we believe that we are saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, in the same way as they also are."
We are called "believers" for a good reason.

Acts 5:14 (KJV)
[SUP]14 [/SUP] And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)

1 Timothy 4:10 (NASB)
[SUP]10 [/SUP] For it is for this we labor and strive, because we have fixed our hope on the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of believers.

Do you work to EARN it, or to KEEP IT? Or so you can be a light to the world. as paul said?

I would rather be penniless in heaven then rich beyond means and in hell.

I am just fighting legalism. and those who claim eternal life is condition and deny eternal security so they can work to earn salvation.

I have seen it destroy people.. and keep people from God..

I never claim it as a waste of time,, even if I make a mistake, I would rather do that than not warn a person.
