Just caveating that the earth is flat, are all the other planets flat as well?
Seriously, this is an honest question. Do those holding to a flat earth believe the other planets are flat as well?

Do they believe in other planets at all?

There are no satellites. ( actually "orbiting" in space )
For me, i know there is a satellite orbiting the planet, i can see it on clear nights moving across the sky, slow and steady, same time, same path, same direction every night, like clock work. Its not a meteor. Meteors in space orbiting the planet do not shine, do not reflect light from the sun.

And as for the proof that the earth is flat or round. All i need as proof is what the Word of God teaches.

Isa_40:22 It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:

That is all i need for proof the Earth is round and not flat. Believe God, not men.

i assure you also, that if the world was flat, somebody, somewhere, would have reported coming to the edge.
You can actually see other planets with telescopes, i have never seen a flat one, ever.
i have been to both oceans, and you can actually see the curve of the Earth on the horizon.
This will be the last time i comment on this topic. It is by far the most _________ that i have ever commented on, what a waste of time. As for me, i will continue to believe Scriptures which plainly teach the circle of the Earth, and not partake in a frivolous debate trying to prove Scriptures are wrong. blip.

A circle is only 2 dimensional, a sphere is 3 dimensional.

Sheesh, now I'm starting to sound like one of them ;)!

I know the earth is round because sometimes I fall off.

Look at my avatar. Do you see a circle there?

Imagine the outer-edge-shape to be a square with the actual edge(s) being 100s or 1000s of miles out from what you see there. Do you see a circle there?

Have you spent much time pondering what the rest of that verse might be saying?

What would happen if you should discover that the Bible actually describes the Earth as 'flat', 'stationary', and non-moving? ( and not "a spinning ball moving through space at fantastic speeds"... )

Why is it that you are so sure that anyone has ever even been to an / the edge?

Yes, and it is something important to remember while reading a passage in the Bible that is making mention of the 'circle of the Earth'.

Don't worry about what you sound like; be only concerned with discovering the truth about the reality you live in.

Faith is believing without seeing/ experiencing it
Knowing is that you have seen / experienced it.

Theory of flat earth is based on belief because none have by THEMSELVES seen it. (and if they have they surely would love to share this by pics or whatever proofs they have)
Theory of round earth is also based of belief but supported by media and lots of sources by photos etc of spherical earth.
Unless you go and prove it yourself it's only believing this or that.
And sadly in this matter Bible is not any greater evidence than any scientific one.

I haven't been high enough to see earth as a sphere but taken picture high enough to see the land starting to curve, Also I have met and talked with a person who have been in place that should be impossible to go if earth be flat (crossed the southpole). So to me the evidence speaks highly for round earth rather than flat.

Trouble is, I sound mostly sarcastic. Probably because I am, well, you know :)

I know the world is a sphere because I have been around it several times. I'm not intending a put down here, just saying that most flat earthers get their intel from their flat screens. If you want to know the truth, brother, then stop studying it and get out and live it a little.

GaryA,
In case you missed my post:

Planet Pictures | Photos From Our Readers

What do you think?
I did see it - and looked at it -- and meant to thank you for posting it.

( Work - and life in general - have been a bit hectic here lately... :( )

I am not yet sure that I am "buying it" however.

In any case, after thinking about it some more -- I don't think it really says anything for-or-against round-or-flat earth. If there are actual 'planets' that are "up there" ( as depicted in the pictures on that site ) - the path of their movement will actually "fit" both the round-earth and flat-earth models. So, I think it becomes a 'moot' non-issue where proof is concerned.

Make sense?

:)

"You got a spare few-million-dollars for me to go running around setting up experiments to test-and-prove round-versus-flat?" :p

I will soon have access to a very amateur telescope. ( sorry, best I can do right now! )

I definitely plan to see-all-I-can-see with it!

"We'll see how it goes..."

I was answering your comment about amateurs taking pictures of planets and not just NASA.

Has anybody ever heard of Operation High Jump? It's was a military expedition in Antarctica that been declassified. Look into it, this man Richard E. Byrd and his findings might astonish you.
