Except they're not really my nails. A young friend of my children's decided to pretty me up a few months ago with fake nails. Trouble is, they didn't last on me for very long. I'm always cleaning, cooking, kneading bread, fixing things around the house, exploring and digging for stones and fossils, climbing around rocks near the river, etc. so I have to I keep my nails trimmed short. Otherwise I keep breaking them. :rolleyes:

I just took a bunch of storm windows out today and washed & shined them up. If I had long nails, they would be broken by now. Hahahaha!!!

One time, when my daughter was downloading people's e book libraries that they had online through file sharing programs, she read out about a hundred of the titles of classics to have me guess who wrote them and I got about 98% of them correct. When she asked me how I knew so many, I told her it was because I had read them all. Well, most of them. Some authors I just could not crack. James Joyce, Ulysses. Huh? Not for me. I have read a lot, but not so much the last decade. I found other pursuits, I guess. But I love a good book :D

i've read loads of the classics, and nowadays (definitely an older person word, nowadays), i read a lot of theological stuff.

do you like Shakespeare? i find he's a bit polarizing, but i like his writings, if indeed he wrote them.

Moby Dick was my downfall in high school. i thought it should have been called Everything You Never Wanted to Know About Whaling. probably the publisher felt my title was too unwieldy? :p

i've read it as an adult, though, and wondered how i could have been such a blockhead to not get it when i was 15. ;)

I like reading Steven James and Randy Singer novels...I finished a Randy Singer one a few days ago, but don't remember the name.
 
"That lightbulb moment" created by the students! Thousands of kilograms of food for meals for the homeless. So happy and proud of the school, of it's real social justice efforts in making a difference in the community. This is the kind of thing that inspires people to Christ, through the goodness of others!

I just got back from the grocery store. I got a turkey that was on sale for 78¢ lb. (woohoo!) and a variety of other yummy things. This year our dinner will be particularly exciting because a wonderful family of Russian immigrants will be joining us for the celebration. It's their first-ever Thanksgiving in America and they're really looking forward to it! I want to make some special dish for them. Is there anyone here who might recommend a traditional Russian dish that they will most likely enjoy?

The low down for Blond/Blonde as I know it.... both are correct - Blond for a man - Blonde for a woman... I am not trying to be a man with the way I spell Blond and refer to myself that way I am just trying to save one key stroke.....lol
