We have been paying five cents for a bag for quite some time but some places also minus five cents if you bring your own bag... recycling looks better when you save money doing it :D:p:D Some stores have even outlawed plastic bags completely but paper bags don't work quite as well for garbage disposal

I suppose in Britain, they have to pay "tuppence a bag".... ?

Yes, I'm old (but I was pretty young when that movie came out)

Does anyone besides me find it strange that there were so many "absentee" ballots that had to be counted at the last minute? I freely admit I don't know all the rules for absentee voting, but I thought there was a cutoff time for getting them in.... sometime before Nov 8th? If so, why were they not already counted and recorded?

I think Trump was brilliant, stating publicly that he was ready to file the lawsuit for voter fraud on absentee ballots, based on the woman's affidavit about what she witnessed at her polling place. I think you call that a pre-emptive strike.

some states have laws that require absentee ballots are not counted until election day.

states run the elections so all the laws vary.

Hillary did not throw her hands up in despair or bitterness, but instead inspired those who supported her to get involved with public service and fight for what they believe. CNN reported how Clinton finds strength in her religious faith and in the inspiration of her mother who always encouraged her daughter to get back up when she fell down. We all can find strength in our faith in Jesus Christ and in our own parents’ words.

The election may be over, but hope has not been defeated for those who voted for Hillary. We are still one nation under God and there is work to be done. Bitterness, despair and hate should not be on our country’s agenda.

As John F. Kennedy said in his inaugural speech in 1961, “And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.”

And as Hillary Clinton advised in her concession speech, we should each get involved in public service in order to make a change. Every one of us can still make a difference. I believe it begins and ends with Jesus’ words, “Love your neighbor.”

Excellent post.

Yes, in those days movies cost thirty five cents and of course I did see that movie when it first came out in the theatres and loved it very much as much every time I saw it thereafter :D

Yep.... I had (have) an enormous crush on Julie Andrews.... some things you simply don't outgrow, I suppose.

This was pivotal. If you observed, he employed the same accountability strategy with his opponent. Hilary lied about her emails, about Benghazi, she's corrupt and so dishonourable, look at the exit polls. Donald Trump is like every other person, we've all fallen short. With that said, American's saw through that and they saw a guy that was extremely successful and really had a dream that America could become a lot better.

The hills are alive with the sound of America's impending doom

Gosh Dude, I wasn't this upset when that leftist political hack named Obama was elected. The sun still rose and set on the United States.

all y'all who hates old Donald Trump, it ain't but 4 years. I had to put up with Obama's race baiting, leftest, bull crap for 8 years. Just Chillax. Get yourself a beer. If you feel it necessary, stockpile some dried beans and guns. It's going to be OK.

Interestingly, that when Obama was first elected, the first thing said by some Republicans was "we need to make him a one term president" and proceeded to disrupt his agenda. It will be interesting to see if the Dems will say and do the same to Trump.

How are celebrations going in Germany Demi, we've had the student body at one of our local university's get together and chant "build the wall!" A small reflection on the following it's taken here.

That may be true. Some people have different opinions on how to go about making America great. I think America is a great nation, but only because of our ever eroding restraint on government and economic position. It can be better and has been in the past. What has concerned me is that our current leadership seems to be sissies and in a time when we face an enemy that is motivated by religious conviction, we need strength.

This election has shown how divided this nation is. Our current leadership has divided this nation, and as a result, their party has lost ground.

No president in modern history has had more hatred directed at him than has Obama:

If he can endure that, trump can endure whatever is directed at him. And remember that he was attacked more so by conservatives than anyone else as I have shown through previous links. ;)
