"Toots"?!

My Dad calls me that... when I'm in trouble.

I suppose that's because it's easier than shouting my first and middle name.
I have 2 middle names. When my Mother would use all four parts of my name to call me, I knew I was in really serious trouble. I never got an answer why I have two middle names. It's kind of weird. to have them. At least I wasn't named Dirk like my Mom wanted. She was reading too many Clive Cussler novels while pregnant with me.

I love Winnie The Pooh and I wanted to name my Son Christopher Robin but my Husband really didn't like the idea, anyhow I told my Son one day that he was almost a Christopher Robin instead of a David Christopher, he said, thank you Dad, phew. My Daughter asked what she almost was, I said Piglet Eyore, she said, oh man that would have been so cool. Her name is Olivia Grace, my Sister sometimes calls her Olive Grapes, she thought that was almost her name. She actually wanted to be Glitter Star. She was also very upset when I told her I wanted to name her Zoe Jane, but her Dad hated it so much that we both agreed on Olivia. Maybe someday she'll change her name to, Piglet Eyore, Glitter Star, Zoe Jane.

I always wanted to change my name too, I think because there were so many people named Jennifer when I was growing up. Now I like it, I actually like Jenny which is what most people called me growing up, that and Fenner. My husband hates the name Jenny and will only call me Jen or Jennifer. I don't know why he hates it. I think I mentioned on here before that growing up I wanted to be , Ziggy Stardust like David Bowie. I'm glad that never happened.

Sadly my name doesnt have any good shortened versions like that, the only one it has is a name I hate even more than the original : p

With people online though, when I tell them my name, I actually give a name thats not really my real name, but a shortened version of my name from my old life. Mostly because I dont like giving people online my birth name : p Also because alot of people I know online know me by that name, and still call me that so it makes things less awkward there.
(the short hand version can be used for either a boy or girl)

Only a few people Ive met online know my birth name, I dont like giving it out unless Im close to the person : p

I've always thought that Jenny was a nice name. I like names like Jennifer that sound nice even when they are shortened

I just noticed a thread in another forum asking if Christians can be Free Masons. It reminded me of the Simpsons episode when Homer joined the Free Masons. It be funny and http://youtu.be/-n_s9P8Or5Y

Lol! My youngest brother has 5 names. I can only imagine what that will be like when he's old enough to get in that much trouble.

My name was almost Catherine, but my dad hated the nickname Cathy too much to name me that. I tried to change it later, when I was 16, because I wanted to be Catherine. But I'm glad it's not, now. There are so many ways to spell my name, I think mine is unique, and it's funny how nobody can spell it. It always told me who cared enough to find out how. One of my boyfriends (only lasted 3 months), didn't spell my name correctly, and it told me that he didn't care enough to learn. I also told myself that any guy I would marry, would have to fall in love with my daughter before he fell in love with me, because I wanted to be sure he loved her as much as I do. That guy never even learned her name.

Honestly, before I named either of my kids, I hated the name Adrianna, and I hated the name Robert even more. But I felt like they were right. I knew both of their names before they were born, but my son was a little more adamant about being Robert. I tried to name him Richard instead. I had a dream the night after he was born, and all I remembered out of it, was waking up with the thought "NO MOM! It's ROBERT JOSEPH!" I had to call the hospital record office that day, and tell them to change it, before it went through the system. My husband wasn't happy with me for changing it without talking to him first. I had to apologize profusely, and in my defense, I did try, he was just at work, and too busy to listen, and I had to get it done before the hospital put his records through.
I love both of my kid's names now, they fit them perfectly.
I also didn't want to name my kids after anyone, but it feels like this little one (I'm like 85% sure it's a girl), wants to be named Desiree Faith. Desiree is my mom's name. I haven't told my mom that we will be naming the baby after her.
