you need to stop it...it's ridiculous
I find these kinds of comments very superior and condescending.
People can express themselves as they feel led to. It is up to others to make their
judgement. The above phrase is as if there is a higher court of people who have to
be agreed with or approval sought from. The point of a forum that is open, is to do
the opposite, and let the fruit of the words take its course.

But some it appears always want there censorship. But what drives this approach
or idea that this attitude has value? Dictatorship, authoritarian opinions?

The reason why the protestant faith likes free speech because it allows the truth,
the light to shine in the darkness despite vested interests and this really matters.

I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. 13Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. 14He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew itunto you. 15All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.16A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father.

Any time the HOLY SPIRIT came upon anyone, HE glorified THE SON of GOD to the GLORY of THE FATHER...
Mary magnified THE LORD
Elizabeth magnified THE LORD
Cornelius magnified THE LORD

Anyone on whom THE SPIRIT fell, spoke the WORD of TRUTH rightly...and those who heard the WORD of TRUTH rightly as from GOD...believed in THE SON of GOD...

The HOLY SPIRIT takes from HIM and gives to us...for the purpose of building up HIS BODY...

Our work, by the HOLY SPIRIT, is to point all men to THE TRUTH of THE GOSPEL that they may be saved.

If one is speaking in tongues and no one is able to discern what is being said?

Have it to yourself...
it is to your OWN...edification...

Quote "If one is speaking in tongues and no one is able to discern what is being said?"

It is interpreted into English for those in the service.

I noticed that in some kind of churches, when the priest touch the shoulders of some people, they will suddenly fall down, move uncontrollably and start saying weird languages. These Churches believe that that's how the Holy Spirit works.

However, i kind of doubt it. I believe that the Holy Spirit work in us to make us brave in telling people about Jesus, keep us in the right way, and many other productive things. Whereas, in the belief of some people from certain churches, the power of Holy Spirit is about making people fall down and say weird things. Well yea, it might be the part of the power, but why do people keep emphasising it like it's the only power of Holy Spirit?

My question is, does that thing (making people fall down, laugh uncontrollably, hold a service without any liturgies because they believe that everything will happen spontaneously by the power of Holy Spirit, etc) REALLY come from Holy Spirit? If it does, why do people keep glorifying (acting like it is the only amazing thing about Christianity), where actually as Christians, we are supposed to worship Trinity equally?

p.s. i don't know what these churches are called in English, but probably it's Charismatic (Bethel)
Firstly it is a perceptive post. It has grown over the past two days and I have read most of it although it was getting a little repetitive over the last couple of pages. I would like to know what you have gained from the answers you have had and the discussion you have generated.

Do you understand who Jesus is? I am really not trying to be silly with this question. Everything that 'is' was made by Him and through Him. All we see and all we do not see. This little ball of rock hurtling through a void so immense it drives the mind to insanity when we try and comprehend it, around a ball of gas that burns and provides light and power for this planet, with a moon that controls tides and seasons set in place by unseen forces, yet these forces are as real as we are and they are Jesus, Jesus hold all things together and much much more.

I seem to be asking you loads of questions but I don't seem to be able to answer your post without them, therefore seeing Jesus as He is, as he was before the created world, as he is now having been made man and overcoming the enemy and now having all authority in heaven and earth (that is a lot of authority) when Jesus touches us individually, would you think that we would remain without being effected?

Is it up to us how God interacts with us? We do have a choice and can refuse Him and His life or we can ask Him in. We can seek and ask and knock, and if we look or seek with all our hearts minds and souls and strength we have a promise that God will be faithful and lead us to where we need to be.

There are those who have answered your post in a positive light and those who have answered in a mocking fashion (The Spirit of God Himself is not mocked), there are those who have answered in ignorance and a few that have answered with the knowledge of the Spirit being evident through their words. Your profile says you are 15 and a Christian, I would like to know when you were saved? When you made a cognitive choice to accept Jesus as your lord and saviour? And when you asked the Holy Spirit in to your life and when you were baptised in water?

This is not a witch hunt but unless you have done these things or are in the process of doing them you will not understand anything of the Spirit of God. This is your choice and belongs to no other but you. The good news of Jesus Christ is being able to know Him in reality, this Gospel, is relationship with the living Son a of God who is He through whom all creation is made and held together for the glory of God the Father.

God bless you Elisabet, to know Him in the fullness of His grace and mercy, and to know Jesus through the indwelling of His Holy Spirit.

The devil hates tongues?
Why would he?

if no one can interpret what is being said and in fact if an unbeliever sees this and there is no one to explain, what has really been accomplished

Is this really what the devil hates?

You may keep me on ignore but you do understand that does not mean I can't respond
and what exactly did you need to "reason with me about"?
that unless there is one to interpret the tongues one should understand that this speaking in tongues is for personal edification?
it is not different from what Paul said so I do not know what you needed to "reason with me" about?

You guys went into a personal discussion on what you have personally seen and heard and this 15 year old (who sounds like she too is born of HIS SPIRIT) discerned something off in her friends.

Instead of addtessing her and her concerns for her friends all of you began to validate things that you personally experienced

This does not help her
nor does it help impressionable and vulnerable 15 year olds who run the risk of being led by sensual carnal things having never entered in by way of CHRIST, born of HIS SPIRIT therefore not able to discern the spirits and what is of GOD and what isn't

There is an interpreter, you have already been told that and keep making false statements.

I addressed the OP in posts long ago,as did others. I said if she felt wrong in her spirit then something may be wrong and not done in order and I wasn't the only one to tell her this.

Amen!...You can always spot the main things that bother the enemy by the amount of opposition that comes against that truth.
and keep this in mind

years ago, I read something pretty interesting...seems he also delights in causing misunderstandings between ALL people but of course Christians would be on the menu...under desserts

I kept note of that and boy is it true!!

sometimes you have to just stop it and if you can't 'fix' it...walk away

last resort, but the Bible does say be a peace with all men as much as is possible...it does not say bend over backwards and accommodate everyone who gets on your last nerve and thinks they are never wrong
