I would probably start with one that evolves quickly or is close to evolving. The Pikachu gives one candy per kilometer so I figure I can probably evolve him in a few days

Thanks, mate. Could you give me a few examples of Pokemon that evolve quickly or are close to evolving? I'm a bit clueless. I was more of a Digimon fan back in the day.

You can test the buddies to see how far to walk for a candy. If you search online you can find a chart for the amount of candy to evolve a pokemon. Not sure which he is talking about though.

Oooh, nix the jigglypuff. I'm going to switch to eevee. I have 3 so ill try to do the different evolutions.

From what I understand there's 3 evolutions of eevee, so now I won't need to catch a million of them...she can just always be my buddy until I get all 3.

I spin the PokeBalls and Great Balls and aim successfully, but the Pokemon just blow them away before they hit them! And these are reasonably low-level Pokemon. Also, do RazzBerries actually do anything? Pokemon seem to get angry straight after you feed them the berries. Thanks.

You can control which one you get. Rename them to rainer, sparky, or pyro to control which one you get, but each name only works once.
 
Haven't been in to Pokemon since the 90's. But if you don't mind that app taking your information & constantly tracking you as you play then ok
