Lol this is a joke right? :rolleyes: I used to always shop at walmart late at night and the stockers do not want to help at all. They're like, "What do you want??" They didn't actually say that but they acted like I was interrupting them. (I know I was in fact interrrupting them but they aren't supposed to act annoyed) But then again maybe where you are they don't act like that...

Maybe at your Wal-Mart they are under the gun to get the job done in a certain amount of time. I know when I'm at work I usually have at least seven things that need to be done at any given time.

Mind you, I'm not saying the people at our Wal-Mart were standing around playing on their phones. They were working, at least the ones I saw. But they had time to help me pick out the right things to put in a Home Starter Kit I was putting together for a couple I knew that was getting married.

Speaking of Home Starter Kits...I read an online article about couples getting married and that it might be a good idea to just give them gift cards instead of things like a toaster or iron because they've probably been living together several years and have those things. I thought to myself "well if they're not going to follow God's rules, that's not my problem!" I would get them the toaster. :p
 
Well this was an idea I had that I'll probably never do again because it ran me about $220 or so, but it was a great pair of people and I wanted to give them something besides all the stuff people usually give a couple. So I thought about all the little things nobody ever thinks about that you really need when you're starting a new home - scotch tape, duct tape, can opener, those command-strip wall hangers, trash bags, sharpie marker, all that stuff. I piled it all in a white kitchen trash can and a white laundry hamper, because white goes with anything. I didn't get laundry detergent with the laundry hamper though, because everyone wants a certain different specific brand.

We once got a wedding invitation from a former co worker of my Husbands that said,

Joining lives means joining household's too.
We have enough toaster's, what we'd like is a gift of cash from you.

They were already living together and had a child and I sure do understand about having to much stuff, but well I don't know. They got divorced less than a year later. I asked my husband if we could get a refund?

I could've sent a note to them that said,

Going to your wedding and finding a sitter cost me a few.
Now that you're divorced, I'd like my cash back from you, lol.

That was... blatant. Blatant panhandling. Did they tell you the amount to bring? Would you have been kicked out of the wedding if you had not brought it?

I would have been slightly offended. Not offended enough to refuse to go, or even offended enough to complain to them about it, but still a bit offended.

I was slightly shocked. I kind of knew the woman half of the relationship and I wasn't all that shocked. She did a lot of talking without thinking. And she told my Husband that she cheated on her then Fiancée. I was not happy about that and did tell him I wasn't to keen about her telling her personal stuff since they didn't know each other that well. I really didn't want to go, but he did so we went and we had a nice time. I heard some other people mention the invitation and didn't like it. When I heard they were getting divorced I wasn't surprised. I hate to say that but given their track record before they even said I do, it wasn't alarming.

I like the way you think! I was hoping I could be dressed as Batman, she would be Catwoman, and the minister Alfred... But I just asked and apparently that would be frowned upon in this establishment. -_-

My Mom was once hit on by they Riddler from the Adam West Batman show. My Dad was a piano player and he and his band were at a club out of town somewhere and he made a pass at her a tried to buy her drinks. I've always thought that was kind of funny, my Mom's claim to fame.

Seriously he did. We used to tease her about it sometimes. I'm not sure why he was at the place where my parents were. Never found out why.

I've worked jobs where I had more on my plate than I could handle and I was never curt with customers. That type of behavior is really inexcusable in my opinion. Just because someone is under the gun does not give them the right to take it out on customers. I've even dealt with customers who literally yelled at my face because they expected their medication to be ready and won't believe that our hands are tied due to the way the system works (authorizations are required and sometimes doctors take their time with them), and yet I remained calm and professional with them and even expressed my empathy for their problem. I've also had customers who threatened to sue me personally even though I had nothing to do with the work that was done on their site. I was polite and empathetic with them too.

There's no excuse for someone treating a customer with less than a respectful, professional attitude. And if you look at how highly educated people in high stress professions act (doctors, nurses, successful business people, etc...) They always treat people with care and respect no matter how stressful their workload is.

I'm sure there are some like that but i spent two years in and out of hospitals because a family member was very sick and i met many doctors and nurses from 4 different hospitals and never once did they not treat us with great care and dignity. And they are always very busy and even overworked. I know because i have nurses in my family and they work their tushes off. I also used to work for a retired lawyer and he also treated everyone like that even when customers were unkind. And ive met a number of successful businesspeople in my former line of work.

Why not shop online at Walmart?

Anything over $50 is free delivery and you don't have to spend time around stupids.
