That seems to be the only disadvantage of a bullpup, the muzzle is MUCH closer to the end of your nose, and the muzzle blast is somewhat more, um... intense.

Of course, with a .22 rimfire it won't be as big an issue...

I have to have an 18" barrel at the minimum to meet the ATF requirements for length unless I want to go through the trouble (and I don't) of registering a Short Barrel Rifle. I am thinking more than likely I will go with a 20" bull barrel.

Oddly enough, that joke would have been 100% on point with either of my ex wives. Neither of them knew how to do laundry. Or cook. Or pick up after themselves.
 
My mom started teaching me to cook at about age 5... she was a GREAT cook, but she wanted us to know how, as well. I was doing my own laundry by about 14 or so.

I still do most of the cooking in my home... my wife is a good cook, she just doesn't enjoy doing it. I do. I do all my own laundry, too. I also don't follow sports...

Guess I should turn in my "man" card.... :rolleyes:

Actually, I'm fairly sure you can have a barrel length as short as 16", as long as the overall length is at least 26" or so. I had a TC Contender carbine in .22 Hornet (see my handle?) that was a 16" barrel.
A lot of folks say you get pretty much maximum velocity out of 22 rimfire in 14-16"... you might check into it, if you want the most compact package possible.
Keep me posted on your project... that looks like a pretty cool, very "packable" rimfire. Might be ideal for preppers.

You need the 18" barrel instead of the more commonly found 16.5" barrel to meet the 26" requirement. I'm going to try for a compact package, but a decent 18" barrel isn't easy to find for a reasonable price, and I'm far too cheap to drop the coin on some of the aftermarket stuff that goes for $300 a barrel. Ouch. True though that a 22lr burns through it's powder in about 16" of barrel, and after that, you start losing muzzle velocity.

I thought this bullpup would be great for a pack out into the wilderness. A good camp gun.

I can do laundry, and I hate having the house dirty, someone two aren't problems. It's just the cooking part... mom loves cooking, but I'm afraid that has yet to rub off on me. I absolutely dread it!

Now I'm sure some of you men are feeling sorry for my future husband XD But hopefully I'll learn to cook before some unfortunately soul decides to marry me.

Emily, if you can master the art of making a sandwich, you've got 90% of the battle conquered right there. The rest of it, I would recommend learning the fine art of the crockpot. Anyone can cook anything in a crockpot.
 
I'm with the guys who like to cook, it's an essential life skill that is good to know. My sister hates it but I always would hang around when mum's cooking to learn the recipes. No I'm not a mamma's boy lol, but I can cook some pretty mean dishes for myself. The stereotype in most societies is that women are the "chef/cook"....I think that is crap.... men should shoulder some of that load and also have the right to cook stuff...it's an art form! I love looking at my dishes once I'm done and making it look fantastic.....it makes eating it more enjoyable...all that hard work and time pays off when my stomach goes like the kool-aid man by saying "oh yeah!" food hits the spot!
 
I may be old fashioned, but in our home I am the one cooking, doing the laundry, cleaning the house, taking care of the kids etc etc.

Well, I am perfectly capable of making an edible sandwich. :D Now that you mention it, though, I have noticed that my dad has a great love for soups. Literally, whenever not around he cooks soup or sausage. I went trucking with him for a month once, and we practically lived out of the crock pot. But I just assumed that he had some sort of stew obsession, I never really considered that there might be some other men that didn't mind doing that. So that's something to think about...

And I know that there are some men who do like to cook... hopefully I end up within of them. I'd hate to get divorced over lack of decent food. Lol

Yeah, thats more what I'm used to. That's the way mom is, so that's the way I just always automatically imagined myself ending up like. But the cooking is just a major hang up for me. Especially when it has to do with popping grease, which by all proper standards is a necessary evil. All the best foods are cooked in grease, after all!

Well, I guess my mom doesn't really like cooking, but I never knew that! She's always said that it really didn't matter, my dad likes her cooking, and that's all that really matters, right? (Fortunately, I LOVE to cook and bake, so I don't need to do it as a labor of love, whew!).

Eh, I wish I could be more like that. It's just such a burden to me. Plus I'm just bad at it. Or maybe I'm just impatient.
