I went for Aldi's to grocery shop today. If you're familiar with Aldi's you pay 25 cents to unlock a cart and get it back when you're done. Sometimes when you're done with the cart someone might give you a quarter and ask for your cart.

As I was approaching the Cart's an elderly woman was putting her cart back, I asked if I could give her a quarter for her cart. She got very offended and said, I'm putting this back and getting my quarter. I said, ok I'm sorry. A man said, here you can take mine. I feel bad, I confused the poor woman and really made her mad. When I was done, I just gave someone the cart, because the man did that for me, no quarter necessary.

I hope I didn't ruin that woman's day, I really didn't want her quarter.
Stop trying to scam old ladies, Fenner!! :p :p :p :D

My Grandpa recently got one of those scary calls in which someone claimed to be one of us grandkids, said they were in a bad accident, were really hurt, and needed money right away.

Fortunately, he didn't fall for it.

Now I'm thinking the caller might have been Fenner.

So Melita is eating either bug larvae or Native American babies...or both; Fenner is trying to run a Ponzi scheme on old ladies, and soulsearch...well she's just trouble without doing anything at all.

Good to know. Glad I am all caught up.

Crud, man.

It usually takes a new user at least a couple months to figure this out.

Maybe this site is just attracting keener people. :D

On the other hand, I guess that at the very least, I can be relieved to know I'm not losing my touch as the years go by.

Saying a woman is a trouble maker is kind of like saying water is wet. This is just based on my limited experience, but 80% of the time it works every time.

Sorry to hear you've been around so many women who've given you that impression.

Not all of us are like that though.

I like to think I cause my own brand of trouble, and it's certainly not gender-specific. :)

I actually heard about that type of scam in the news several years ago. They say some seniors fall for it. :(

I was trying to be flippant and jocular in my response. I didn't mean offense. Sorry my message didn't come across properly.

It can be very easy to fall for, unfortunately.

My grandparents never saw a need to keep up with the modern world (aka, the internet) which, in my opinion, makes them all the more susceptible to black-hearted people like this (seriously... How can someone abuse/steal from elders and still be able to sleep at night?!)

The thing that stopped my Grandpa was that he thought, "Wait... shouldn't they be calling their dad instead of me?" and that's why he refused.

He talked to my parents the next day, and only then did he really know it was a total dupe.

Np, Yahweh. :) Thank you for your very considerate reply--it's most appreciated. :) We have some users here who actually do make such replies in a serious manner because they've been repeatedly hurt/betrayed/lied to by the opposite gender, and if that had been the reason behind your reply, I wanted you to know I'm truly sorry. :(

But no offense is taken :), and I'll be looking forward to better "learning" your sense of humor through future posts. :) Sorry if I didn't catch on right away. I'm known to be a little slow--just ask all the regulars here in Singles (Lynx, I know you're going to say something here, seeing as "flippant" is one of your favorite words... HUSH!!)

Anyway, I'd blame it on my meds, but I don't take any. :D

Oh no! My stellar reputation is ruined, calling Grandfather's and ponzie schemes, my life has all of sudden gotten exciting!!

Are you kidding seoulsearch? Flippant isn't even in my top 500 words. :p But jocular just barely makes the top 200.
