Friday needs to hurry up...
No I don't have any big plans this time. Just want it to be the weekend..
Time to relax this time, and possibly persuade my father in law to help fix things round the house...
I miss having a working sink.... And light fixture in my bedroom....
I dont have much of a "handyman" at home y'all... He kinda fails in that department at the moment
I promise you, as a past professional handyman myself, every handyman who ever lived, at one time knew no more than you do right now. Believe it or not, they had to learn everything they now know.
The point is that if you choose to, you can also learn what is needed to do handimanning around your house. There are books at the library you can check out. There are countless places on the internet (not the least of which is youtube) where you can find the information you need to fix electrical, plumbing and most every other kind of problem the average home owner will face. Books stores and home centers also have lots of beginner books that you can either buy, or just look through to get an idea of what you want to know.
If a person can read, they can teach themselves a great deal in life. Take it slow. Read a couple of books on home wiring. Write out what you think the process is, and then consider whether or not you want to give the light fixture a try. It may not be all that difficult.
(Pay attention to wire colors and draw the wires as you find them in the light fixture so you don't forget. MAKE SURE THE CIRCUIT BREAKER FOR THE LIGHT IS OFF BEFORE YOU START ANYTHING.)
You will probably find some useful youtube videos on light fixture repair and replacement, as well as how to fix small plumbing problems.
At the very least, you will have a clue about what is going on in your house and needn't be quite so afraid of how it all works.
