I remember a few years ago when I would see advertisements that intentionally tried to mimic the Windows XP default color scheme and act like they were scanning C: drive and finding viruses, to try to make you think your computer was infected and you needed to buy their antivirus.Hmmm some guy just called me and told me he needed to fix my computer. I told him I realized he was trying to scam me and hung up.
In a way, yes. It's not that they can't, it's that the people who write viruses don't bother writing them for macs since a lot more people use PC's. I believe they would have to go back and write it again for the OS platform.Is it true Macs can't get a virus?

There have also been a couple viruses in the last few years that affected macs and apple never really came up with a fix for them...Thanks Lynx and Zero. My son has a mac and keeps telling me he doesnt need anti virus because Macs are "immune." Not techy myself so I cant respond but might have him read your responses so he understands it is possible.
