Lloyd: Oh man I'm feeling really bad because I lost the gold watch my father gave me!
Harry: Dummy! You can't lose a gift!
Lloyd: What!?
Harry: Yeah if you lose something that means you never had it in the first place!
Lloyd: Oh wow! I feel so much better now! I'd really hate to lose something my father gave me.
One problem.

Christ is omnipresent. You can't lose Christ, Where ever you go there he is also.

Why do you persist to try to use human reasoning to explain spiritual things?

Trying to compare christ to a watch is like trying to compair the universe to a gnat..

No man has the father apart from the son.
No man who has the son, will lose the son, He and the father are 1.

You might be able to punch your way out of a marriage, but you will never punch your way out of Gods hand.

I don't believe that she is now "out of Christ" because she married a muslim....that's nonsense....If she was in fact "in Christ" to begin with, Jesus will not lose her to any circumstance. Jesus is not a religion of keeping rules to go to heaven - that's a religion that is man-made.

As I said she most likely left a "religion" she was in but she did not leave Christ who is in her heart - if she is "in Christ" to begin with. Forsaking the assembly does not lead to going to hell.

She is just confused because she wanted to be with this man. If she is "in Christ"..He will woo her. Just watch. Jesus does not lose any of His sheep. Salvation is not based on what we do..it's based totally on what He did.
I know my cousin, and she is not confused, she knows exactly what she is doing. The bible says they can leave the truth. How can you leave somewhere you've never been? You have to be there in the first place in order to leave, right? Trust me, she was a Christian and now is not.

Here is a 6 minute talk on predestination that answers a lot of stuff for me and it resonates with my spirit.

I see these verses

*But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.*Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.*Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.*But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.*And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,*In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;*And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will. - 2 Timothy 2:16,19,22-26

THANKS for your POST

The one and ONLY unforgivable sin though is better expressed as Denial of God, not so dissimilar to your point.

God Bless you

Check out what Scripture says:

First, it never says believers are predestined to go to heaven. It says they are predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, to be adopted as children, to be holy and without blame.

So you want me to believe these people will not get to heaven or what?
How can you get any better than this?
Never does Scripture use the term "predestinate" in relation to unbelievers.
So you believe an unbeliever will be conformed to the image of God, Adopted as his child. and holy and without blame?

Just trying to understand.

I think the Biblical teaching of "predestination" is about what God does for those who choose Him. God from the beginning of time ordained (decided) that those who choose Him will be forgiven of their sins, will be adopted as His sons, and will be made like unto His Son.
I agree, Based on Gods foreknowledge, God chose these people who would recieve him in faith to be given all those things..(ie given eternal life)

Yes, we can talk and argue about if God knew from the beginning of time who would go to heaven and hell -- that is a valid and fair debate: but the Bible never uses the word "predestinate" in this way.
It does not have to state it directly..

But unless you think someone can be conformed to Gods image, Made holy and WITHOUT BLAME, and adopted as his children. and not get to heaven, then we have another whole hill to climb over to get what those terms really mean, that they would not make a person worthy of eternal life and heaven.

Who can see the hearts of men but God?
Many claim to be Christian but are not born again.

They believe a false gospel of works and never trusted in Jesus redeeming work on the cross for their sins. They clothe themselves in fithly rags and think themselves kings with their homemade crowns of brambles.

Yet in the fire it all burns up for they do not have the gold and true gospel of grace. Salvation by faith in Christ work alone to justify and be born again and sealed by the Holy Spirit who allows us to cry out Abba, father!

Well then, I will say the same:

Nope, I do not believe that a person saves himself by keeping faith in Christ. It is the work of God that we keep our faith in him.

And God never fails right? So we have no reason to take our faith of of him to begin with, because he never fails..

God did, When he used the word "eternal"

If he wanted us to know life was conditional. He would have called it conditional life, Not eternal (never ending) life.

WHo gives any man the right to change the meaning of a word God used?

No.,,for God does not laugh when someone accuses a brother of being a fool.

I consider He Rose a beloved brother in Christ seek His will and find it offensive that you imply he may be mentally unstable.

I don't agree with everything he says, but I still love him. Or I would not bother speaking with him.

And how can you tell??

I know many people who played church for years. that left God..

It does not mean they were never saved,, And if they were truly saved, They will not be gone long, Who can withstand the chastening of God?

To the OP...

When anyone reads the bible it shouldn't be taken at face value. For example you brought up scripture in 1 Peter. What they meant was the faith they placed into Jesus Christ that He died for their sins and rose from the dead and accepted Jesus into their heart.

Secondly it spoke of trails Christians would endure to prove their faith and make it grow and become stronger spiritually.

See the Bible can be interpreted many ways is what a lot of us think. However, if you cross reference the Bible you have the full picture painted. Such as James chapter one goes hand in hand with the testing of their faith. You see what I'm getting at here? Context is a big deal and to get proper context you have to pull from several places in the Bible Old and New Testament.
It's enigmatic to a lot of people, but pray for wisdom and God will give it to you. Get a study bible or life application bible and cross reference scripture you'll see the big picture on topics laid out in the Bible.
