You don't understand, Pilk.. My birthday is in October. We're almost into July already. I started looking for cats/kittens even before I had Tequila put to sleep in March. Every time I get a lead on cats, it doesn't work out. I adopted a kitten a couple weeks ago, and returned her because she was sick and had been exposed to other kittens there who had URI. I cannot and will not take care of another sick cat! One orange cat at the HS is too timid and skittish. I don't want a wimpy cat. Another one is almost 5 and has dental issues. My 2nd choice of cat is Lindor, who is black, but I REALLLLLLLLLLLYYYYYYYY want another orange cat.. However, they seem to keep eluding me.

I WANT another cat BEFORE my birthday. The late-year holidays will be here soon. This year is already crappy enough for me. I lost my cat, then Sukee, who is my parent's cat and I loved her dearly, then I had to return my kitten. This year is REALLY gonna suck if I'm alone on my bday AND all the holidays.. :/ I can't even put into words how desperate I am for an orange cat right now. I wish God would hurry up.
Have you tried petfinder.com?

I talked to my sister earlier, and she thinks I need to break out of the orange cat mold. After seeing what Rusty, then Tequila, and Sukee went through when they died, I think she's right.. She offered to take me to the humane society tomorrow, to go get Lindor, who is 1 year and 1 month old, and is all black. I have asked God to help me be okay with not having another orange kitty, and I've been crying, but I will love ANY kitty even if it isn't orange.. :) I've also asked God to help me not resent Lindor because she isn't orange. That's not fair to her. I just love orange tabbies soooooooooooo much and this is very hard for me.. Here is a couple pics of Lindor:

Blue Ladybug everyone who has been on here a while knows how well you looked after Tequila. Anyone who has had a cat and has had to make the heart breaking decision to have a cat put to sleep knows how difficult it is. When an owner takes that decision they are putting the care of the animal above their own needs and want. I am praying that you find the right cat at the humane society today. After having to have our cat put to sleep we got to the point where we wanted another cat around, there is just something about cats they have so much character and personality, and we couldn't imagine life without another cat. So I can see why you want and feel ready for another cat.
We had wanted Moo's older brother a black cat, our previous cat was black however the owners decided to keep the black cat and we ended up with Moo a kitten and I didn't even want a kitten. When we met Moo she was around 16 weeks old, she came over climbed on me and started to lick my chest she had never done that to anyone else she had decided she wanted us. Having a cat of another colour maywell be a good thing or maybe there will be a ginger cat there who knows. I personally think black cats are gorgeous black panthers and have a soft spot for them also they tend to be hard to home:(. If you do get a black cat just be careful you don't fall over them. Twiggy was a menace for lying on the stairs and you would nearly end up falling over him as you couldn't see him.

ha! lol

our daughter brought home a black cat with the famous words, you won't have to do anything, mom, i'll take care of her.

so... who lives with us now (cat) and who does not (daughter) ? ;)

eh, i've grown to love that cat, though i'll add to the warning...

she's really hard to see in the dark! :)

also, please pray, if you would, dear friends?
one of our sons is traveling till next Friday, and i'm staying with our daughter to help with the babies.
we all still have the plague, and these little boys are going to miss their daddy.

it's a rough job, but some nana has to do it. :D

thank you all. ♥

I'm back from the HS.. Didn't get Lindor, she wanted no part of anybody. I DID get Minko, a 9-month old orange mackerel tabby. He has Tequila's sworls, but is a shade or two lighter orange. :) He's already acting like he owns my place..lol.. He LOVES the red laser dot, loves mousey mice and especially loves catnip. At only 9 months old, he weighs more than Tequila did, and she was 15 years old!! He is solid, but not chunky. I just had to use the water bottle on him, because he jumped on the stove and counters. He's gonna learn what the water bottle is for real fast..lol.. My heart is very happy now. I have an orange kitty once again. AND he's inherited alot of Tequila's naughty traits.. lol..

my favorite verses for today

PSALMS 37:1 Fret not yourself because of evildoers; be not envious of wrongdoers!
PSALMS 37:2 For they will soon fade like the grass and wither like the green herb.
PSALMS 37:3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness.
PSALMS 37:4 Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Thank you, M&M's... :) I think he was abused in his former home, cuz sometimes he ducks his head and slinks off to hide like he knows he's done something wrong. He's a little scared of the water bottle, so I think his former owner used to squirt him alot. :( Luckily, he listens pretty well when I say "NO".. :)

I am so please you have found the right cat for you. Being scarred of the water bottle is no bad thing. Our nearly year old cat is sprinting madly round the house!!!

But he doesn't look so much like a kitten, like this one does. Minko looks like a full grown cat.. :) And I'm changing his name to RusTeq..
