We ought to walk as Jesus walked. We are His hands and His body now. He is our Head - He directs us and we have His power being manifested through us to a hurt and dying world.
It is as the Spirit wills that the power gifts are in manifestation. We don't conjure them up by an act of our will but we need to be open for Him to use us as He sees fit.

When Jesus was crucified there were two malefactors crucified with Him. One attempted to manipulate Jesus by tempting Him to exercise His power and get them down off the crosses so they could continue to live. The other sought not to have Christ misuse the power that was His but sought His mercy.
You are proof texting to support your position. Mat 10:1 Jesus gave the disciples power but He sent them to the lost sheep of Israel. Jesus specifically told them not to go to the Gentiles or to any city of the Samaritans.
Mat 10:5 ¶ These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:
6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
Seems you are not really interested in being honest to the text.
If you really had what you boast about you would have sufficient wisdom not to boast. God speaks in the still small voice.

To say that God has stopped the gifts of the Holy Spirit in these days is just spiritual ignorance gone to seed which has been fertilized with humanistic man's reasoning to get around things we don't understand with our natural minds.
When some one tries to rationalize that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are not for today - it is the same thing to me as an atheist trying to tell me that Jesus is still in the grave. I know better despite what humanistic reasoning they use.

If you are not interested in correct biblical context then you will have deceived only yourself.
It is His will not our will. God never operates outside of His word. No man is able to manipulate God into doing what God has said He is not going to do.
These discussions often leave me with the question of whether the folks protesting the most have ever even been filled with the Holy Spirit. What they seek is often foreign to what the scriptures say we should expect. I understand the zeal of heart that wants to serve God in great power. Going about to right the wrongs, heal the sick and convert the lost. The great desire to vanquish satan and end suffering but that is not Gods plan at this time.
Why not seek Gods mercy to have zeal to witness to the lost?

Why not? Because God has declared that He is going to use the foolishness of preaching to save the lost.
1Co 1:21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

.........healing is definitely in the true gospel message.....as can be seen when Paul preached the gospel in Lystra. in Acts 14.

Paul was preaching the GOSPEL.... the man lame was listening to Paul and then he had faith to be made whole...where did this man get faith to be made whole in his body?

The man that was lame from birth heard in the preaching of the gospel of the grace of Christ that he could be made whole. He believed...Paul saw it in him and encouraged him to act on his faith.
Healing is a part of the gospel of the grace of Christ as the being born-again is.
Let's not limit the Holy Spirit of God and the great salvation our Lord bought for us with His blood. Let's reach out to those in need as the Spirit of God directs us.

Why don't we just say " I am not going to allow the scriptures to get in the way of what I believe"...that way we are at least honest with ourselves.

Jas 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
God is healing of that there can be no question. Does God appoint healers to go about healing? Nope.
Paul was denied healing three times that he might glorify God in his infirmities.
Pondering the word of God is always profitable.

The gift of healing has not ended but God never made men the healer.
Souls are save through hearing the word of God not by what they see or believe they see in the way of miracles or signs. The faith that is needed to be saved comes from hearing the word of God and the Holy Spirit bringing conviction of sin, righteousness and judgment. There is no room in there for anything else.
You are seeking confirmations that are now present in the word of God. What brought you to saving grace?
