Don't know what post you refer to re: Tintin, but I don't recall my brother from down under being someone who believes in salvation being a precarious proposition that has no guarantees and can be lost. But I won't speak for the man, that wouldn't be fair.
If God is not obligated to keep His promises, we are all in big trouble.
My God does not and can not lie. Let God be true and every man a liar.
The bible is overflowing with God's promises, our only 'obligation' is to believe in Jesus. He who has the Son has the life. Salvation is a gift.
It seemed in your previous post, you were putting conditions on that gift.
Of course, we have to believe in Jesus in order to believe in Jesus, it would be silly to think otherwise, you can't receive and reject at the same time.
But we're saved and kept by Him.....He's not standing there waiting for us to blow it so He can say, 'That's it, you blew it, ssseeeyaaa!
Maybe that's what man does, but the Lord's ways are not our ways, thank God. \
/I'm not sure anyone just BELIEVES they received the Holy Spirit. They kNOW. And some of us who know have never spoken in tongues. But I am not goingt o be part of turning this intoa thread that insists we have to do so or we have been tricked into thinking we've met God. You are in saying "he who has the Son has life, Salvation is a gift, but he do does not have the Son also does not have life, no matter what his previous condition was in the past. Gift's can be rejected or thrown away.

Obviously the Gift must be received, but the Lord knows them that are His, and our salvation is secured because of Christ's FINISHED work, it's not conditional on our behavior or performance. It is a new covenant In Christ.

Don't you think you are putting the Biblical truth under a veil ??, Because if a Christian walks in the Spirit they wont fulfil the lust of the flesh, They will reject any wrong thoughts straight away.
Your belief doesn't change the Biblical fact that everyone in the Bible who was baptised in the Holy Ghost, spoke in tongues,making tongues the Biblical evidence of the baptism in the Holy Ghost.
God has given us eight operations of tongues, and everyone are important to the believer, so why do you insist you don't have to speak in tongues?.

Salvation does have a condition, and it is Faith in Christ. It is being born again, which is taken out of our old family that leads to sin and death, and place in a new family in Christ that leads to life.
But Christians don't walk in the Spirit all the time. And if you say you do I Know one person who has LIED
or who has such an easy life that he thinks he hasI challenge that. The baptism in the Spirit in 1 Cor 12. does not mention tongues. There were only tongues given on SPECIAL
occasions, and they were very few,,
Amen! Paul, writing to the brethren, said in 1 Corinthians 12:29 - Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles? 30 Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? The answer is NO to this rhetorical question.
I didn't insist I don't have to speak in tongues. I just stated the truth, which is that I never have. And yet I've received my Baptism and commune with God often. It might be worth a thought that maybe some are just not given this and that the criterion we use to know if someone is our brother or sister should be love. Fruits. These are visible evidences of the Spirit and cannot be faked for long because, as an old saying goes, whatever you are carrying will spill out when someone bumps into you.
I also challenge you to say where in Scripture it SAYS that the baptism in the Spirit has to be witnessed by tongues? if it were so we would be told. Paul obviously didn't know
You just assume it because of SPECIAL incidents. It is never so outside Acts.mailman gave a verse that should clear this up. From Paul. Unless there is some stronghold, it should clear it up for us.
Okay, state publicly here, that you never get sick. That you don't take anything to prevent, or heal a sickness or disorder - not even an aspirin.
This doesn't match up with what Jesus said though.
If I have anger in my heart, but I don't act outwardly on it, He says I have ALREADY murdered.
Even society recognizes that explosive anger can hit people suddenly.
That's why they have stiffer penalties for premeditated murder than for heat of the moment anger.
Yes. My only point is our salvation has nothing to do with whether we make Christ our Lord, or obey Him. Our relationship will suffer, and God will chastise us, even to the point of taking us home, for prolonged rebellion, but we can never be lost.
Again, to offer any service for the gift of salvation negates it as a gift.
