I LOVE being in the church alone. At night, in the day, whenever. I can't seem to get a thing done during office hours when everyone is up there wanting to chat. Going in while it's dark and deserted just fills me with this sense of peace and comfort.
My kids are terrified of the church at night though. There are weird sounds. The alarm control panel has lights for each door that light up when that door opens. Sometimes we will be standing near it, all alone in the church, and will see a light come on and go off, and then another come on and off... like someone is opening and closing doors. When we are the only ones there. I fee like it's a mechanical problem, but no one else wants to be in there at night.
