None of the Churches in my area observe Passover but I will be reading the relevant passages during Passover week.

We went last night to Passover services. Our Church has kept Passover always and on the same night as Christ kept it. Do you do the foot washing?

Our church is doing smaller and more intimate Passover dinners tonight in various homes. Tomorrow afternoon we'll do a much larger corporate Passover.

Last year we were able to do something extremely powerful. We did the private Passovers, but then we all came together at our church afterward for a night of worship. Kind of like the 1st Passover where people were celebrating it at home and then God quickly redeemed them all and took them out of Egypt together. (Sadly, we weren't able to do that this year.)

Then we'll begin our week of Unleavened. This is a wonderful season!

Today is Pesach. Are there anybody else that is going to church tonight for Passover celebration?

I took the Passover at services last night after sunset. Tonight is actually the Night to Be Much Observed, the First Day of Unleavened Bread.

Yes we do...

Joh 13:13 Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.
Joh 13:14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet.
Joh 13:15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.
Joh 13:16 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.
Joh 13:17 If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.

We've done foot washings in the past, but it can be difficult to do with a lot of people.

Foot washing had a meaningful purpose back then. It actually accomplished something. Now with daily showers and shoes and socks it's kind of silly and pointless IMO.

Jesus is the Passover, to celebrate Passover is to diminish the cross. The Jews celebrated Passover because it was the night that God passed over them because of the blood of the lamb that was put on their doors in recognition of the cross. Jesus blood that was shed is the blood of the lamb and Jesus only commanded that we take communion whenever we take in remembrance of Him no set day was given. Because our faith is to be placed in what He did at the cross and not a certain day.

Our church is not that big and can accommodate about 800 people but last night was so powerful. If I go on the tables that was set we were well over a thousand people in attendance. They had to put up a tent outside our church for people to sit and listen to the service :) . Just a reminder that God is alive and still wants us to keep His everlasting feast days.

the footwashing was to show Christ's humility

Obviously. But it actually showed his humility by actually doing something useful for others, not just pretending to and going through the motions. That's all foot washing is today in modern countries. Play acting.

Is the following something you celebrate-?

(Exo 12:21 KJV) Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out and take you a lamb according to your families, and kill the passover.

(Exo 12:22 KJV) And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the basin; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning.

(Exo 12:23 KJV) For the LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the LORD will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.

(Exo 12:24 KJV) And ye shall observe this thing for an ordinance to thee and to thy sons forever.

(Exo 12:25 KJV) And it shall come to pass, when ye be come to the land which the LORD will give you, according as he hath promised, that ye shall keep this service.

(Exo 12:26 KJV) And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you, What mean ye by this service?

(Exo 12:27 KJV) That ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of the LORD'S passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses. And the people bowed the head and worshipped.

(Exo 12:28 KJV) And the children of Israel went away, and did as the LORD had commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they.

(Exo 12:29 KJV) And it came to pass, that at midnight the LORD smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle.

LORD smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt,.,.,.,.Not the Lord I know, He forbids killing and not a doer of (:)

(Exo 12:30 KJV) And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt; for there was not a house where there was not one dead.

Jesus is the Passover, to celebrate Passover is to diminish the cross.

I complete disagree. If you were to go to a Passover that remembers and celebrates God's redeeming work for His people, and are able to see that as imagery for Jesus' work, it would completely discount what you said. It is very similar to celebrations of easter and christmas. (Except that God told His people to celebrate Passover; not easter and christmas.

It would be wise for you to not make blanket generalizations without knowing how people celebrate it.

Is the following something you celebrate-?

the new testement tells us to keep passover and the feast of unleavened bread.

1Co 11:23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you,
That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:
1Co 11:24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat:
this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.

1Co 11:25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped,
saying, This cup is the [new testament] in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it,
in remembrance of me.

referring back to this...

Luk 22:15 And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat
this [passover with you] before I suffer: For I say unto you, I will not
any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.

Luk 22:17 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said,
Take this, and divide it among yourselves:

Luk 22:18 For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine,
until the kingdom of God shall come.

Luk 22:19 And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them,
saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.

Luk 22:20 Likewise also the cup after supper, saying,
This cup is [the new testament] in my blood, which is shed for you.

Do what in remembrance of me? They were taking the Passover.
Jesus changed the symbles of the passover only, did not do away with it.

The Passover service also consists of the foot washing...

Joh 13:12 So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments,
and was set down again, he said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you?
Joh 13:13 Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.
Joh 13:14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet;
ye also ought to wash one another's feet.

Joh 13:15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.
Joh 13:16 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord;
neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.

Joh 13:17 If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.
and then Paul says this...

1Co 5:6 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth
the whole lump? Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump,
as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:

1Co 5:8 Therefore let us keep [the feast],
not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness;
but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

-And he said that to a Gentile church, [to keep the feast] of unleavened bread.

Acts 12:3 (KJV)
And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also.
(Then were the days of unleavened bread.)

Acts 20:6 (KJV)
And we sailed away from Philippi after (the days of unleavened bread),
and came unto them to Troas in five days; where we abode seven days.

Nowhere is a Sunday morning Ishtar sunrise service taught in scripture
but the Passover and the Days of Unleavened Bread are taught.

Is the following something you celebrate-?

Yes of course you have to celebrate the victory in Christ, but the Passover we are keeping now is because our Redeemer died for our transgressions and if we are in Him we will be passed over on the judgment day.

God tells us in His word that His feast days are everlasting and for His followers (not just the Jews). It is up to you to decide if you want to believe ABBA Father or your local pastor telling you that it is wrong to do it…

I wonder if it is a coincidence that Yeshua died on the cross on the day of 14 Nissan +-2,000 years ago? The day of Passover. The Jews sacrificed +-250,000 lambs that day while our Messiah died on the cross. He said that He is the lam that was slain for our transgressions. I thank ABBA Father for the perfect sacrifice.
