I'm homeschooled too!
(I actually never set foot in a "real" classroom until about a year ago
).
Similar to what i put in another post recently, i also have family members that do homeschooling. Four girls. All four of them are very well behaved and obedient and respectful to their parents and other elders. They are all talented in speaking German, art (have won competitions), horse riding (have won competitions), various instruments (been in multiple bands/won solo competitions. as well as having been in recording studios), singing, frequently performing in small concerts up to festivals. The oldest has been to Germany. As a family they have traveled to various areas of the US and even done some hiking in the mountains. They have also had their hands in other experiences such as gymnastics. They are all well socialized and have no problems with kids their own age or adults, because they get to experience such a wide variety of activities. They are also all well educated in all the primary subjects.
So they are probably better at socialization than most public school kids because they don't learn all the negative behaviors that can be learned in public school, and they spend time around a larger range of ages of people. They don't live in an area with a lot of home schoolers, but there are some. The parents simply create their own opportunities to educate and expand their childrens experiences. So lack of socialization and experiences (or this idea that they don't face tough situations and therefore will be helpless adults) has more to do with what they are offered and less to do with home schooling itself.
Ahhh, yes. I totally agree! Sadly, a lot of public schoolers can only converse with people in their age range. As a homeschooler, my age range is actually the group that I have the HARDEST time talking with! Give me someone over 40 or under 7 any old day.
lol I barely deal with people my age because I seperate myself from them. The main people I talk and have contact to (besides teachers) are 40-80s lol

But I mean, aren't they the best?? How can you learn anything from fellow teens? (besides, of course "everyone makes mistakes" and what you're going through is "normal" so that must make it "right"). I'm sorry. Mini rant at an end![]()

I hope none of the adult "refugees" are in your class trying to learn English/German XD....Believe it or not they actually have those programs in the US for the latest wave of migrants from the mideast and elsewhere....really awkward.....
I like you two and your thinking on this. I get fed up with adults much of the time. So doggone defeatist! Everything is a drag to many people my age.
Ive joined a drama club thing and theres two other people in there who are also homeschooled so Ive been talking to them a lot in and out of the sessions. At first I wasn't sure about going because I've never done acting before but my parents wanted me to try it because my doctor said it would help with my 'confidence issues' but it has been fun and Ive liked it. At the moment were doing we will rock you and then were performing it in August and I love Queens music so that is really good. They havent given out parts yet but I hope I get to be someone cool!!
