Shine,
I was going to drop some knowledge...but you ladies seem to have it covered.

Sorry.
I'll just go back to my Fruity Pebbles and keep reading.

It is. :) If it wasn't for His forgiveness, we wouldn't be saved and have CC, after all! xD
Also, I think Matthew 6:14 is a hard pill to swallow. It definitely brings conviction in my life.

"For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you."

Yikes.

Meaning... they don't think they're wrong. They think they're right, the other person is the one who did something wrong, and God has their back. So surely if the most powerful being in the universe is on your side, how could you possibly be wrong? They don't forgive because they don't see themselves as having done anything wrong by holding on to the anger. They don't see it as a grudge, they see it as God's righteous justice that the person who wronged them surely deserves.

At least, this is my own personal hunch as to why we see this behavior even more in the Christian circle than in unbelievers....

(And yes, I stand just as guilty as anyone else.)

EXACTLY. You nailed it. I think we are ALL guilty. We think we are in the right in holding onto unforgiveness because....we believe we didn't do anything wrong.

Here's a Google image of a chunk of the Titanic they have in an exhibit here in Vegas.

You're not allowed to take a picture of it because the flash from your camera will 'damage the iron'.
Yup. 90 years at the bottom of the ocean, and a flash from a camera will damage it.

BTW, yes, it is impossible to stand in front of it and not hum the Titanic movie theme.
You dont have to use flash on cameras now...will the flash hurt the iron's eyes?

indeed. and why do we feel this way?

my personal opinion, i think it's all in pride.

James says we (as in human beings) fight because each person wants his/her own way.

I think pride has a lot to do with it. When we are full of pride, we tend to hurt others and sometimes ourselves.

My sister hurt me a couple years ago and it got bad enough that I met with the pastor at his home. It took me about two months after she was married that we started rebuilding a relationship. Even afterwards I didn't trust her and took my grandpa to be in the hospital dying for both of us to realize we needed each other. For the first time in fifteen years I was blessed to hug and comfort her. When my dad was rushed into the er about a month later with a possible heart attack we made a pact right then and there not to allow anything to come between us. I will admit I struggled with my faith and trusting God, but he did place certain people in there that helped me forgive my sister. The funny thing is I looked at a journal I kept during this time and it was dumb how I got so upset over one little thing, but God has taught me to forgive and take one day at a time and with that my faith increased and I don't really hold onto any unforgiveness because I don't want that to hold me back. Now my sister and I are close again and plan to hang out on a regular basis.

I'm not disagreeing lol. People hold onto unforgiveness because of pride among other things.

I think one thing about unforgiveness is that God came to my life about a few years ago over someone that wronged me for 10 years. He basically convicted me and said, "I hold you responsible for your unforgiveness."

It was terrible to hear. "Didn't You see what they did to me?"

Of course God saw that, but he does hold me responsible for choosing not to forgive. It was going against His will for my life.

I asked her if l could turn the flash off.
I was expecting her to say,

" no, Sir... the vibrations from the click of you camera will crack it"

She could have just simply have said that they don't want you to have a picture of it.

There's also a giant iceberg that you can touch. I'm pretty sure its not the original berg,... just a giant ice cube...but l could be wrong.

The only time I can forgive like Christ Jesus is when I fall into Him in defeat and tell Him the truth: "I can't do it, Lord!"

Every time I literally die to my own understanding, to my hurt & humiliation, to my logical impulses, I can see the way Jesus sees people. As soon as I am literally out of the picture altogether, abandoned, I have the mind of Christ.

And it takes this dying to myself ALL THE TIME. Every single day. It just ain't in me to do it. I need Jesus 100% of the time.

Praise God He has given us His Holy Spirit to reign in us like that! Thank You Jesus!

Well said.....I find when I look at how much I have been forgiven - it releases His forgiveness that is in me out to others. It's much the same principal as when we see His love for us...we have His love released in us. Jesus is the Author and the Finisher of faith and life in us. Lord give us a greater revelation of Your forgiveness and love towards us. Thank you! We trust You.

Ephesians 4:32 (NASB)
[SUP]32 [/SUP] Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.

1 John 4:19 (NASB)
[SUP]19 [/SUP] We love, because He first loved us.
