I worked FOR someone else, helping to make them wealthier, for years... UNTIL I decided to take the same risk they had. Then, I not only made more money than the people working for me, BUT I also took the hit of lean times... while they kept taking home the same paycheck, unaffected by my ravaged economic situation. Many times, my wife and I saw NO money from the business, and we lived by draining our savings. But they kept depositing the same checks in the bank.

And when things started getting better, they still made the same money for a year or so, until I could project my ability to safely stay afloat as I slowly increased their paychecks.

Now, am I a dog for ensuring that all my employees never suffered at all?

How come you always have to tell people you are not a liberal? very odd ... haha
I'm not telling people, it's for you, in case you've forgotten to tell the difference between a liberal and a conservative.

I say show one factual quote of Donald Trump condemning an entire religion or expressing a hatred for anyone other than Rosie O'Donnel. Making a decision to halt the immigration of people from certain nations does not equal hate. It is a matter of immigration policy. Deciding to halt the immigration of people who are muslims does not equal hate, it is a matter of immigration policy and national security. Deporting persons who have enter this Nation in violation of our law is not hate. It is the enforcement of previous legislation. Enforcement of our border is not hate, it is required of the Executive by the people. No one in this universe who is not a United States citizen, is entitled to enter this country. To all the people of the 3rd world; If your nation is so terrible you consider coming to the United States, Try making your own turf a little greener.

And by the way don't think if I crossed the border into any other nation including Mexico or Canada without authority, I wouldn't be arrested too.

I would never call you a dog. In fact, I admir and and respect you for taking such good care of your employees. I have a question, though. When you report your income to the IRS, as a business owner, the amount you report as your earnings is what you made after you paid your employees and other business expenses, correct? I honestly don't know for sure, that's why I'm asking :)

I don't know what you mean by "implications", but if the Jewish authorities told the people to put up with the Romans, then that is what they were to do.
This was a letter to Roman Christians though. Paul, it seems was speaking more generally against anarchy and described the State's role in God's economy. Verse 4 in particular appears to be upholding the idea that the government itself upholds the sword and its role in doing so is the distribution of wrath.

How Is Donald going to enforce making people go back and possibly seperating families?

How Is he going to pay for a big wall to keep illegals out?

I think he Is just a typical politician getting votes and we will see If he delivers all these things he Is saying.

I wish! LOL No, you report every dime that comes across your counter, THEN you try to get some help from listing everything it cost you to be in business.

Separating families ..yes that happens whenever a criminal goes to jail..do we not enforce our laws ? And in most cases we would be sending people back to their families in another country...

Sorry. I guess I just made the mistake of not choosing welfare.

Kiw1,
That list Iposted explains a word a lot of people throw around, having no idea what it means... WRITE-OFF.

Somehow, many people think this is something free, given to business owners. Not so. This is merely a deduction from the full (gross) amount of money they spent to do business.

If you made a total of $1,000, and it cost you $600 to make that money ($600 you had to pay out to someone... money that was never really yours) then the government will only tax you on what you actually got to keep... $400.

THAT'S a WRITE-OFF.

You're too intelligent to start making foolish comments like that.
i consider you to be pretty smart too, Willie - it's just that the way i hear people talking about how upset they are worrying that a dread socialist will give away "my money" -- it does make me wonder if they realize that the government has been spending "my money" on other people ever since 1913. so if the issue is the distribution of tax revenue -- hey, that ain't nothing new.

I am actually very much for a flat tax. The poorer would pay a very small number of dollars, and the rich would still carry the nation.

that would be great, if the poor could take advantage of all the same tax shelters that the wealthy have. it's a fact that beneath certain income & investment levels, there are a lot of financial "tools" to net you higher interest and lower taxes that are just plain not available until you're richer.
those are things that a guy making anywhere near the median income has no access to, so with a flat tax, the rich keep getting richer, because they can hide their wealth, and the poor keep getting poorer, because they can't.

the graduated tax system we have isn't in place because people are stupid. it's been thought out and calculated. wealth isn't linear.

I was in business for over 25 years. While it wasn't the same as Willie's, it had a lot of similar expenses.
I have to say, I got burnt out. I am glad I am no longer a business owner.
If I ever do something again, it will be something that is a one (only me), or 2 or 3, or at most, a 4 person operation.
I think I would prefer just me.

I miss being in business, but when we liquidated, we made more than four times what we initially invested. And the biggest business, we sold right back to the people we bought it from. They ran it into the ground within a few years. After all our work, that kind of hurt, but I had to let the attachment go. It wasn't ours anymore.

That sounds like a whole lot of "justification" to try and freeload off the very people paying the workers their salaries.
