So clearly you don't know what mob rule is.
The constitution isn't living and breathing. Meaning, citizens shouldn't be allowed (especially the Supreme Court) to change what is explicitly and implicitly stated in the constitution.
The constitution allowed for slavery and denied women's suffrage in that it wasn't explicitly stated. However, if you read the document, it's 100% implicit that denying civil liberties goes against the constitution. I don't think even you would argue this. So, when the Supreme Court fixed these historical injustices, they weren't taking liberties and changing the constitution, they were actually enforcing it... regardless of the mob (majority of citizens) who disagreed with those civil liberties.

I like our constitution just fine....and I don't think it's "cool" to kill babies.... I do think sometimes it might be necessary and the greater good.... Why does everyone seem to have plugs in their ears?

The constitution "shaped" it. It's not a living and breathing document. People don't have the right to change the constitution or to take civil liberties away... that is the whole point of the constitution...

Do you understand that blacks are a protected class because the people voted through the congressional process to protect them from forms of racism .. Gays are not a protected class constitutionally (for being gay) ..because the people have not put forth that protection in a constitutional process.

Also, multifarious evidence from sociology and other departments has now come in showing the pernicious affect of mass gun ownership. Perhaps some laws should be ammended or re-thought based on the new evidence available.
