What are your guys' thoughts and why do you believe what you believe? (Just curious not looking to start a debate, because debating gets people nowhere because the other person is ready with a rebuttal.)

You cant seperate trinity and oneness. I would say both. Just as you are mind body and spirit so is God, yet he is not limited as we are and can spread his spirit throughout the world. Jesus=the body of God is flesh and blood thus his child. Holy Spirit= of course his spirit which he sends to us to let us know who he is.God the Father= the mind which is why he is the creator and controller of all things.

You can post why without having a debate can you not? I'm just curious, because I never understood why people believe in the Trinity. I'm curious to see it from a different point of view. Also, there is a difference between discussing something and debating something, discussing people usually hear out the other sides points, where as debates you don't hear out the other side because your there to prove your point. I just want to hear the other side's points.

In this verse, they are distinctly different, but at the same time they are one. That’s what I think J

The Holy Spirit is recognized as God!

No one who believes in the Trinity ever claims that there are three different Gods. This is a misconception due to simply not knowing. In that case, I don't understand why it is such a debate topic. I believe in the Trinity... because it's just a more in depth way to describe God as having three forms, yet still being one God. The trinity simply recognizes the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as having their own purpose and state. Like I said, I just don't understand where ''oneness'' believers think the difference lies.

What I believe, is that God is a spirit, therefore he is one thing. Since he is a spirit he can exist in many different forms, he appeared to Moses in a burning bush, he dwells within us, he made himself flesh and walked this Earth just as we do. I don't believe that he exists as the Holy Spirit, the Son, and the Father Solely. I believe that they are all one, and that his name is Jesus Christ. He tells us him and his father are one, and that he has come in his fathers name. Thus meaning God's name is Jesus.
Just as I am David, but I am also, a Son, a Brother, a Friend, a Nephew, etc... I have many different titles just as God does, but I am still one person. David.

So your saying because I don't believe in the Trinity, I am not a Christian, I don't think that is your place to say. I have God dwelling within me, and I know in my heart what is right. Don't be so quick to judge just because someone doesn't believe in what you believe ie the trinity, that they are not a Christian. I am a practicing Christian, and thirst and hunger for knowledge and rightousness. This is just what makes sense to me. God Bless.

I just want to know how fighting over the idea of trinity vs. oneness is of any help in your Christian walk. Do you believe that those with Trinitarian beliefs are not saved and are going to hell? If so, you have no room to judge another person's salvation. If not, then is it really an important issue? I don't think the state of God's being is an important topic in the slightest. All that matters is whether or not we are living to serve God. This seems like one of the details that we will find out once we get to Heaven... but not a deciding factor on whether or not we go there.

How does that show that I believe in oneness? Go take another read. I just showed you how The Father is known as God and Jesus Christ is known as God and about the Holy Spirit being God. Ok, I'm not arguing, and I don't believe that if you believe in the Trinity that you are going to hell. I just don't understand how the Trinity works, like even what Cako53 said, From what I gather what he said, God is the Father, God is the Son, and God is the Holy Ghost. Thus meaning he is all one thing, GOD. That's how I gather it, there are very subtle differences in the two. I'm not here, to argue, or to debate. Discussions are good to have, because it opens our mind to what other people believe so we can gather what makes sense to us. We must use each others knowledge of the Bible. Although there are some pretty far out ideas in the world, but that's why we must gather as much knowledge as there is, so we can come to what we know/believe. I know we must have faith, I do have faith, but discussions are good to have.

I believe in the trinity. Why? I believe that it is realy quite obvious, how can there be Jesus, the holy spirit, and the Almighty God if they are only one entity? But at the same time, how can the three be seperate and we still claim to have one God? All three ARE the same being. God puts a lot of emphais on reconsiliation and unity, not just for Him, but for us also.
e.x. John 1:1 " In the beginning was the Word, and the word was with God, and the Word was God."
(In this passage "the Word" is Jesus, because Jesus is the living embodyment of God's word.
Colossians 1:19-20 "For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconsile to himself all things , wether on Earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross."
