if by quote, you mean quote from a common english translation, then I disagree.

if I remember right, I quoted "let them rule over the fish of the sea" from the nasb.

I didn't include the modern chapter and verse numbers, yes.

the new testament writers often don't give that style of references, either.
when Paul writes, "Abraham believed God," I think he just expects the readers to know where it's found, or be willing to spend time looking for it.

I can't show you where day seven ended.

I think the writer stops the story before coming to the place where they would've written the seventh day ending.

the story has to end somewhere...
perhaps in the middle of the seventh to emphasize completeness, and the importance of resting on the sabbath.

I don't believe the scripture says it was closed, or if it was closed.

so, two possibilities

the seventh day is still going,

or

the seventh day ended like the rest (either 12 hour or epoch), but the writer stops in the middle for effect.

the second seems right to me.

Then logically, you must also admit that it has not ended yet.

That would be like saying that you are going to take a road-trip and either walk, or ride on an animal, like the NT writers would have done.....when you have the option to drive a car, or fly in an airplane, etc....and make things happen at modern speed.

If your talking about the seventh day of creation of Genesis. Then yes it ended for the evening and the morning were the next day. In OT times the next day started with the sun rising. Meaning a day was from sun to sun. To say that God rested on the seventh day is another thing. Did He really rest from all His works or is He still working with us and to us?

The Hebrew states that He ceased from creating.
 
In our Modern Day, the next day starts at 12:00 pm or that is to say midnight. In the OT a day was from sunrise till sunrise. Therefore they used terms as the third hour which was about 9:00 am and the sixth our which was noon and the ninth Hour which was about 3:00 PM.

Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof; When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?... Knowest thou it, because thou wast then born? or because the number of thy days is great?
 
Anyway, It is my personal belief that in the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth. The Earth is untold millions if not billions year old. Could I be wrong, yes I was not there. The Earth became void and full of darkness. This is not something that God would create. I mean just going by His demeanor and how He is light. Also there is no mention of the other planets as they had already been created in the beginning. There was stuff here on Earth before Adam and it was corrupt and God destroyed as He did in Noah's day. Water covered the surface of the Earth and God said let there be dry ground. This word is a word of permission and not creation. Furthermore the stuff scientist dig up and try to tie it evolution, is the stuff that was here before Adam.
