OMGOSH.. It's gonna be $174 for the vet to come here to put the cat to sleep. How on earth am I gonna scrape up THAT much money? O_O :'( It's times like this, I wish I'd married a rich man.
I have seen similar presentations in person... they are very
powerful and spiritually moving... thank you for sharing!

I called the ASPCA, and other organizations to help me when she fell into the river in November. They refused to come and get her out. If they wouldn't help me save her from the river, they won't help me put her to sleep. :/

I could have her put to sleep at the vet's, but she's scared of the vet and I want her to go here at home, where she's comfortable and not scared. I do NOT want her slipping away in a sterile room and on a cold metal table.
I want her to die in peaceful, familiar surroundings.
When I took my sixteen and a half year old incontinent, has-already-lost-more-than-half-her-body-weight, failing cat to the vet to be put down, she had not been outside for well over ten years. She was a regular scaredy cat when it came to a lot of things, though quite fierce in other ways... a real animal who was all but unapproachable out of my company. However, when I took her for the drive that day, with my friend holding her in the carrying bag (not even an animal carrying case, more like a re-usable grocery bag with a zipper) she was calm, and mildly curious as to what was going on. It really surprised me. She died peacefully, in my presence. The only thing that bothered me was when they sedated her (in a separate room), she was already so far gone when they brought her into the room where I was waiting, that she was basically completely out of it for our last moments together. But her suffering had passed, and that was the most important thing.
My dad and brother are going to pay for it for her, and then I'll just have to pay them back month by month. I really hate not having any money..

I believe there must be others waiting to greet Tequila,
and as magenta said, just knowing she'll pass in peace,
under the watchful eye and in the loving arms of Jesus
can be your comfort through this.
His eye is on the sparrow...He cares for and loves you,
blueladybug, many of us are with you in spirit and have prayed.
Let our Lord Jesus have your grief.
These burdens are too much for us,
don't think it irresponsible to let Him have your sorrow.
He knows your heart, and He won't let you down,
and the parting will be brief,
just think of her playing in a pasture, and trust Jesus
for the great things He has in store for us all.
He's our loving, heavenly Father, He loves you
and your friend so much. He wants us to trust Him.
He won't let you down.
He gave us of Himself, and nothing can separate us
from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Where can I send the money to help cover the cost?
I understand you not giving your address of course,
but is there a friend or maybe your church where I could
mail it to? As long as I know you get it to take care of your friend,
I'll have the check in the mail Friday. Please let me know if I can help.

You had posted about your Dad and brother while I was still typing my last one, so I posted a bit late, sorry.
God bless them, it's good to have ppl in your life to be there for you and help out. My offer still stands, though, in case anything else develops.
Thank you for letting me share in your grief, it's even helping me to get through some of mine, though my heart remains heavy because an unresolved situation is in another's hands.
My hands and heart are tied, but I'm trying to continue to help others. Don't know how effective I can be for the Lord or anybody, though.
But I know that peace is coming your way, and joy is just around the corner.
Wish I could be there to give you a hug,
but I believe Jesus has one for both of us,
and many others here as well.
