Hi! I am new here on CC and so I am going to give u a quick introduction. My name is Mandy and I love to talk so if u ever need anything then just feel free to PM me. :) So today I was wondering if there are any good teen Christian books that I should read? God Bless.

Welcome, Mandy. Please be careful who you invite to pm you. This is a christian site, but there are many weirdos and perverts here who would love to send you inappropriate messages. Also, do NOT give out any personal info on here, it is seen by the ENTIRE online world and is also searchable on Google. Be smart, be safe. :)

Hey! I'm also new here and a total book worm! What are you into? Christian fiction? Testimonial biographies? Self-help books?
My favorite Christian fiction author is Francine Rivers; her first Christian novel and her crowning jewel is Redeeming Love which is a retelling of the story of Hosea but in Gold-Rush California. It's amazing I promise! She also has The Mark of The Lion trilogy which I'm in love with that's set in Rome about 40ish years after Christ was crucified.
I really enjoy reading testimonial biographies because sometimes, the true story is more miraculous than an imagined one. Some along that genre I've read recently are Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus (the story of a Muslim-American trying to disprove Christianity but finding truth in Christ) and Jansten's Gift (the story of a mother's loss that brings her closer to Christ) and finally Exodus to a Hidden Valley (it follows an American-missionary family that are forced to flee into the Burmese mountains).
Maybe this isn't your thing, but it sure is mine; I love reading self-help/marriage counseling books because I find they help me relate to others in a more positive way and also I find human psychology fascinating. The 5 Love Language is an interesting book that I read with my parents and siblings to figure out how best to communicate with each other. Another would be Reclaiming Intimacy which talks about how to overcome the clinging effects of premarital sex. Though I personally haven't had experience with this, my two closest friends both got pregnant during high school and though I didn't read it because of them, I did recommend it to them.

PM me if you want to talk books, I love it!

The baby sitters club maybe? I don't remember what age- group they are for
CS Lewis has many good books for all ages

(sorry, I know this is the teens forum, but I can't stay away from books!)

I cannot believe I missed a thread on books! Books that I love that are either from christian authors or christian friendly authors are The Lord of the Rings (J. R. R. Tolkien), most things by Jane Austen, Laura Ingalls Wilder. Enough for the christian friendly authors and on to the authors that write with christian topics; anything C. S. Lewis, Elizabeth Elliot is really good, J. C. Ryle was a life changing author in my life. Christian fiction, I really love Lois Walfrid Johnson (especially her Adventures of the Northwoods series). Some people called it childish, I thought its simplicity made it charming, and the characters were amazing!

I really enjoyed Frank E Perretti as a teen. The Hobbit is a great book. The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe is a fantastic series. In my early 20's, I read The Great Divorce by C.S. Lewis and it's one of my favorite books. He wrote it in response to a novel entitled The Marriage of Heaven and Hell, which surmised that one could leave Hell to "visit" Heaven. C.S. Lewis' response is great. :) What I would do is find books in a genre you enjoy and find some study type books, like ones by Lisa Bevere or Elliot or something similar. :)

Hi mandy,
Welcome and nice to hear u looking for teen books to read. There was this classmate in h.s. who told abt og mandino's The greatest salesman in the world. For some reason i have not been able to read it, and idk either if it is Christian or some readers have classified it as The secret (or even The prophet by Gibran, for i havent read it, as i said). Prabably was reading lighter material as Daddy long legs, aside from others required in class then. I only know that classmate has since been a Christian, and a good businessman too. There were only 2 reviews i saw wc said its a good read, but i wonder what others here who have read it have to say.

I just finished reading, HOW TO READ A BOOK. A Guide to Reading the Great Books, by: Mortimer J. Adler. And listening to you guys talk has caused a smile to cross my face.

I am remembering Noli me tangere, novel written by Jose rizal, and do not know if u'd include in ur good teen Christian reads; it is required reading in high school here. As background, I do not know if Rizal ws actually Christian, although he was from a Catholic family. Some say he has converted for he was exposed to many different ppls and faiths, but that he recanted before death. Now I am not sure what is fact and what isn't, and hasn't delved into these recently anyway.
Noli Me Tangere (Touch Me Not) by José Rizal — Reviews, Discussion, Bookclubs, Lists_

from a review:
This book is the most important
literary work in the Philippines. One hundred twenty-six (126) after it was
written, its message is still relevant to us Filipinos. I have also read a lot
of other books written by local authors and, for me, the quality of Rizal’s
writing is still unsurpassed.

"Noli Me Tangere" (Touch Me Not) is a novel of the National
Hero of the Philippines, Dr. Jose Rizal. The Latin title came from the Holy Bible, John
20:17 “Touch me not, for I have not yet ascended to my father.” Biblical
scholars do not know exactly why Jesus told this to Mary when later, He invited
Thomas to touch His wound and in Matthew 28:9, when women saw Him, “they held
Him by the feet, and worshipped Him.” They were not told “not to touch
Him.”

However, in the book, this phrase is alluded to by
Elias referring to the impending revolution being planned by
the rebels. Through Ibarra, he gives a warning to the Spanish
friars for the continuous killings and injustices being done to the native
Filipinos. He says that anytime, at a slight provocation, the revolution will
start.

This 1887 novel was originally written in Spanish (first
published in Germany). Its Filipino (Tagalog) translation is a required reading
in third year high school throughout the country. The first time I read this was
in school year 1978-1979 or more than 3 decades ago. I think the version that we
read was the one with red cover and was translated by Domingo de Guzman
(abridged, I think but it retained some Spanish phrases). However, just like my
classmates then, I read it with passing the Pilipino course as my only
motivation. I painstakingly memorized the plot, characters, events that had high
probability of being asked in the quizzes and exams. Now, during this second
reading, even after 33 years, I could still recall some names of the characters,
some scenes and events. Like probably all Filipinos who finished third year
high, we were all told that this novel caused Dr. Jose Rizal’s death by
firing squad
on December 30, 1896 or around 10 years after he started
writing this. The Spanish friars banned this novel in the Philippines because
this announced to the whole world the atrocities, injustices, killings and
maltreatments that they were doing then to the native Filipinos who they also
derogatorily referred to as indios. Rizal’s death was said to be the
trigger for the Filipinos to work hard in their fight against the Spaniards.
