The only reference I made about guns was they wouldn't stop the people from performing the acts as people (Mitspa) would like to think they would. I'll repeat myself... Gun or no gun for defense, evil will still carry out their evil intentions. We see that each and every day despite having police in each and every city... Heck, we just saw that earlier when two suspects were having it out with the cops. Hence, how one cop was shot and taken to the hospital... It's also not going to stop bombs as people (Mitspa) have insinuated they would. I also never said that because people have guns to defend themselves, crime doesn't happen here, as some people (Mitspa) has said. That has been my only points.. I was never the one that brought up guns in the first place. I am all for protecting ourselves, despite how some people (Mitspa) like to say I'm a "left-wing liberal that likes to promote the sin and evil in this country."

Yes, you started the thread, we know, but you don't own it. No one is trying to push you out of it...but don't tell her to stop posting on the thread you started because you want "facts" -whatever those are to you...

She's her own person...she isn't being rude...and even if she was, it's not because I'm around. So, stop with that "Miss Glitter" crap.

Ok, in the shooting today in CA. if someone had a concealed weapon do you think it is a possibility lives may have been saved? Cops cant be everywhere at once so yes crime is going to happen. But Im talking about specific situations. Do you not think armed citizens lower crime and can be helpful in situations like today?

Since my five minutes past, and I couldn't add to my initial post, I'll add it here.. What I listed in my last post, having that said crap happen to you each and every time you try talking about a subject from a different perspective than someone, that is what causes someone to "be bold." A person can only take so much before "boldness" occurs.

Absolutely, but don't kid yourself.. I work right next to a school for autism. A place similar to where the shooting occurred today (I know that's not a school for autism, but you get my point.. Special needs). All the teachers at this school next to my plaza, are women.. I can tell you there probably won't be many that would have a gun with them even if we were allowed to.. So my point is, how can you speculate each and every single person in that building would have had a gun on hand ready to defend themselves?

Well that wasn't the comparison I was trying to make. Wires got crossed somewhere. I was talking about Islam not refugees.

Well, Islam is a religion and most refugee's are Islamic followers...so, yeah...you basically are using that weird comparison without even realizing it...

Yes, I just started helping this week...but I have spent many months in French language classe with these people...I know their stories and you only know what the media tells you, which most of it is nothing but propaganda and fear mongering crap .

We have to change our thinking. We have to be aware. I agree many arent armed but police are now telling us they arent going to be there in time. They said "we use to say hide or run,now we are saying fight." Thats the police union.

How do you make someone be aware that might not like guns and doesn't want to carry one around, though? All this "more guns" stuff, yeah it makes sense, but not everyone is comfortable with carrying one for him/herself. So how does that person remain aware and protect him/herself? My uncle is a perfect example, as he uses a bat to protect him and my aunt.

So you can assure us that there are no ISIS or sympathizers embedded in these refugees? You know we are safe. Because the top men in this country cant assure that and are saying so.Its only the president that wants us to accept refugees without records and blindly believe none of them are dangerous. I think those in charge of the security of our country know a thing or two more than you do.

I already SAID that it was 6 AM, I needed coffee, therefore I called him a she by mistake. We have different time zones, you know?

I've never tried to command it. Please tell me when I've tried to do this? What, when I shared my opinion? Oh, sorry... :/

I know JSR can stand up for himself...so, I think he can react by himself too without you blaming his 'nasty attitude' on me or even correlating it to me.

Something has to be better than nothing. I carry mace. They want to catch us off guard. If we are at least aware maybe we can spare lives.Because you can have all the gun control in the world but,like you said,you cant stop evil.

Yes I know different time zones.My cousin is in England.I worry about him a lot. Honest mistake.I had someone chew me out for bad grammar. I thought that was small of them.

You're free to share your opinion but to me it comes across as rude and talking over others opinions. Just sayin...

I dont think you,me and JSR are going to agree on this subject. Perhaps on something else but not on this. So we may as well drop it.We're not seeing each others point of view so it has no value.

The only gun control I think is appropriate is stricter background checks.. I don't like Obama (even though certain people accuse me of being a liberal that voted for him), but he said a valid point (I know a lot of people hate him, but yes lets take a moment and think rationally). How is it we can have no fly lists for people, yet it seems your every day nut job can purchase a gun? Something wrong is with that picture. Yes I agree with you something is better than nothing.

But do you think background checks will catch anything? People are slipping through no fly lists.I dont know.

Is it honestly that big of a deal? You have to have them for jobs.. And no one bats an eye. Why is it an issue with guns?

Don't kid yourself. Plenty of women carry and are not afraid to use them. Be safe.
