Sorry I missed it... belated congratulations on your first anniversary, November 27th, 2015 :)
Thanks that's about how we celebrated it by doing nothing.... bought the table, got the two kitties but tourist worked, didn't go out to dinner or celebrate in any way. Should have gone to Publix and bought a small wedding cake topper to cut into but didn't....oh well....nothing special right. We have each other what more do we need? Just another day.

Living one day at a time is the only way to live :)

Reminds me of the serenity prayer verse that most don't know...

Living one day at a time,Enjoying one moment at a time,Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace,Taking, as Jesus did,This sinful world as it is,Not as I would have it,Trusting that You will make all things right,If I surrender to Your will,So that I may be reasonably happy in this life,And supremely happy with You forever in the next.Amen.

Heresy, heresy I say!

Goodafternoon Frank My goodness but 500 people is an awfPCs lot to sit down together for a family dinner! It seems almost inconceivable that it used to be many plays I am sure those who no longer walk this world are all still very sadly missed, especially Helen and your niece. How told turkeys does it take to feed that many people? Who cooks them? Where do you eat?

I am glad to hear your son and dil got in safe and sound. It must be at least an eight hour flight, and by the time you add on any extra travel time, that is a long trip!

My daughter was flabbergasted that your 94 year old aunt drives herself there :) It is quite an amazing feat for a woman her age. My daughter's grand dad is 93, and is still mobile and mentally with it, but slow on his feet and has not driven for quite a few years...

It must be quite a lot of fun for April to have so many children to play with for a while. I realized after writing you before that Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner have mostly melded in my mind, they were so very similar. We often had some of the relatives for dinners on such occasions, but it would not have exceeded forty people to the best I can remember. :)

Did you go riding at all? What is a tricycle motor? Is it like an ATV?

Hello Magenta,
We had 491 family members, 25 farm family, ( employees ), 9 women and 5 kids from the battered womens shelter, for a total of 530. Helen and her family never came to this reunion, that's my wifes side of the family, this reunion is from my moms and dads side of the family. My wifes reunion is in July of every year. They have about the same amount of family that attends, sometimes a lot less, depending on where it's at.

The diner where we hold our prayer breakfast at, cooks 40 turkeys, 32 hams, and 800 pcs of fried chicken. The women fix other meats, and everything else. I had the big barn built in 1998-99, that's where we have it. I put in a 10,000 square foot kitchen, dinning room, and 2 full baths. The barn is around 36,000 square foot, we use the rest of the barn to store our equiment in during the winter months. It has heat and ac.

I failed to ask my son how many hours that his flight takes. When he flies in, he still has a 12 hour drive to get here. He says, he has jet lag, and would rather drive than fly home. I'll try to remember to ask him the next time. The son, dil, and the gran-son left at 6:00 am this morning going home. The gran-daughter is staying until Sunday, then driving back to college.

My aunt, is a very special lady to me. When she comes down, she stays with us. She left Monday morning around 9:00 am. She called in the afternoon, said she made it back home with no problems. We still have quite a few people here. April went home on Sunday, but she'll be back as soon as she sees my gran-daughter. April had a blast, she rode Midnight for 2 days by herself, no, I didn't get to ride. But hey, I own the horses, and can ride anytime that I'm up to it. The company don't get to ride that often, so, I decided to let everyone else ride that wanted to.

It sounds like you and your family had real good get together, at times, I think ours is to big. I have to play hostess, that's a job in itself. I'm trying to get someone else to take the reunion over, with my health, don't know if I'll be able to do it the next time. So far, no takers, although they were told they could keep it here, so, we'll have to wait and see.

Now, now, now, Magenta, what powers tricycles? BABIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My only female employee, is going to have her second child in about 6 1/2 months. She has worked for me for 11 years, she got married 9 years ago, they have a 6 year old daughter, she plays with April some, when she's here. Oh, she is a farm hand, driving tractors, messing with cows, the whole farm thing.

Marie, Aprils mom, is going to have her second child in about 6 1/2 months. They both are hoping for boys this go, but said they don't really care, just so the child is healthy. That is how we are going to have 2 tricycle motors at the farm.
