'Clock boy' sues Irving TX for $15 Mil

'Clock boy' Ahmed Mohamed seeks $15 million, apologies - CNN.com

So "Clock Boy" isn't done with Irving, Texas. Apparently, he thinks his predicament was worth $15,000,000 taxpayer dollars.

Strangely enough, the first thing that comes to my mind is not his "clock", his religion, or his persistently annoying behavior.

Nope! It's lawsuits.

This is a travesty in justice as far as I'm concerned. People are already taxed enough, they already pay a higher premium for goods and services because of lawsuits like the one being filed by "Clock Boy," and many are unfortunately dealing with lawsuits of their own.

Even if something traumatic happened to "Clock Boy," the requested price tag is absurd, arbitrary, and intolerable. I hope the judge feels the same way.

Just a pathetic grab for cash, I hope they are refused and the child is ordered to design school, so he may know what a clock looks like.

I have not one ounce of sympathy for this kid........and I'm not sorry about it. He is lucky he didn't get shot.

His name is Ahmed Mohamed, not "clock boy". Your attempts to dehumanize a child are pretty odious. if it were a christian being kicked out because he came packing a gun you'd be tripping over yourself defending his right to pack heat. Then you laughingly claim his religion isn't at the forefront of your mind.


The school is public and free so I fail to see how a settlement would be passed on to you. The United States is one of the least taxed nations in the developed world so I fail to see the cause for your protests of being "overtaxed". He is not going to get 15 million, but he deserves compensation for what the school did to him.

I knew a guy once....he was a genius structural engineer. He built the finest bridges all over the land...they were the most beautiful and sound bridges you ever saw. Unfortunately, Billy made a bad decision with sheep and fell under the spotlight of an angry sheepherder and from then on he was no longer known for his engineering skills.

No, he doesn't. He doesn't deserve anything more than an apology. He doesn't deserve a trip to the White House (you can't make this stuff up!) and he most certainly doesn't deserve $15 million dollars. Shammy, it's clear to see that you sympathize with the Muslims. Why? Your agenda is showing.

Well shucks, I guess I'm just the type who cares about people. I think the source of your confusion as to my motives is that I'm not prejudiced against Muslims as you are, so the idea that people treat them as fellow human beings is alien to your thought process.

It's common practice of those who milk the legal system in the US to set the price high like that to try to force a settlement so it doesn't have to go to court where it can get really expensive. In this particular situation, the kid has no case because the school simply followed its no-tolerance policy. I hope it goes to trial.

Can I just say first that I am mixed race with a nice sun tan myself, possibly
of Asian origin but not really sure.
Just wanted to explain that before the politically correct people jump
on the band wagon and accuse me of racism.

Having seen the item he took into school I can fully appreciate why the school
took action. What if it had been a bomb and they all pointed and said, oh
look could this be a home made clock! Then instead the news head lines would
have been entirely different!

Points to make.

1) What on earth were his parents thinking of allowing him to take this to school in
the current climate. It was asking for trouble really wasn't it.

2) I'm not familiar with the US justice system but if it was not followed correctly in this
case, then they should apologise for that, but they should definately not apologise for
taking action in the first place.

3) If demands for $15 mill dollars are being made and are correct, this is a disgrace,
instead his parents should be trying to explain to him why taking the clock into
school like this was such a bad idea.

4) As for comments that it would have been different, if it was a white student with a gun.
I would be appalled at anyone of any race or colour who took a knife or gun into a school.
There is also an old saying that two wrongs don't make a right.

5) In my opinion, any person or family who takes something into a school which could
resemble a bomb then wants $15 mill compensation, obviously does not respect the
country they reside in and who knows, maybe a person like this has the potential to
become a terrorist. They obviously have no qualms at being extortionists.

Clock boy's father apparently has a history of trying to make a name for himself as a fighter against 'Islamophobia'. This whole thing may have been a setup to achieve that purpose.
