Exactly. Consider Noah. Noah was warned to prepare. Suppose he hadn't built the ark, saying 'God will save me.' Would God have enabled Noah to dogpaddle those 40 days? Perhaps. But I doubt it.

God never said He is a carte-blanche life raft.

I'm not the person who commented about your husband dying. It would seem you don't wish to take advice regarding your safety.

For others here with a bit more common sense, I'd like to mention that you can't just walk around saying you can live as you like and when your time is up, it's predetermined. Prior to 1996, if you made the decision to join an expedition climbing Mt. Everest, you had a one in six chance of dying. Those were the odds. Flying on the Space Shuttle was safer. Living in Somalia was safer. If five groups set off to make the clime and each group had 18 members, chances are that 15 people would die attempting the climb. If you were graduating from college, would you take a job in Baltimore or St. Louis or Detroit or Chicago? Do you like taking unnecessary risks? For some, it's risk vs. reward. For others, they are not financially able to escape a bad neighborhood. And there are plenty of bad neighborhoods.

If my wife and I just lived through a terrorist attack by radical Jihadists, we would not be spending time online debating the precise number of Muslims living in Paris. We'd be packing our bags and getting out of the country.

It was telling of one woman who's son had gone radical, and thru his pressure to radicalize her, she realized that the koran did indeed espouse violence. It rained for 40 days and 40 nights, but the actual time period of the global Flood was a little over 1 year.

Interesting... it took a year for the waters to drain? do you have a reference for that? Not looking to debate I've just never heard that before but it makes sense.

Sorry to interrupt the the topic of this conversation, but I noticed your name and saw your profile. You speak 3 languages?!! Ugh! Is your mother tongue English? If so, can I message you for advice on learning languages? It was really tough for me to get to a sort of intermediate level of French, even though I studied everyday. French grammar almost killed me, lol. So, if you have any ideas on how I can excel even more in French, then I would love to speak to you about it! :D

Yeah, you're obviously quite oblivious to how the world works. You see, there are these things called borders! They're invisible but...oh well. We can't just pack our bags and get out of the country. There are these things you need, called visa's, to live and work in another country. They're not that easy to obtain. For my spouse visa to France, I had to go back to America and drive all the way to Washington D.C. (which was a 7 hour drive) to have an appointment at the French Embassy to go through A LOT of paperwork just so I could go and live with my French husband...even though we had just married a week ago. They can deny these visa's if they want to. There are rules and just because we're American's, it doesn't mean that we can just hop around wherever we like.

Are you going to pack your bags and leave (or try to leave, haha) if a terrorist attack hits America again? I'd like to see you try. Unless you have another foreign nationality or if your wife is foreign ORRRR you have a well sought after skill, with degree's to back it up, then you can't go nowhere...

Yeah, I don't want to leave France...I like the healthcare prices (I had a tooth filled a few months ago for the equivalent of 23 dollars...and that was before I was put on my husband's health insurance) and I like my free universities...oh, and the food and culture. So, I'm okay.

It's just a little hiccup and like all countries who have went through a terrorist attack...we will be okay. I'm not going to run away from my home in fear, which is what the terrorist want. They want everyone to scatter so they can take over...

Did you learn how to insult people from your French husband or did it require a class at the university?

I know quite a bit more about how the world works than you, child. I spent ten years working for an international conservation corps. We had volunteers from over 35 different countries. It was a constant struggle to get proper visas. We once had a French volunteer charged with sexual assault while he was out one night in Santa Cruz, California. The local news covered the story and it involved the French Embassy. His parents flew in from France to attempt to bribe authorities into letting them take their wayward son home.

I doubt we would leave the U.S. as a result of a terrorist attack in Washington D.C. We live over 2000 miles away. In the same way living in Detroit is 100 times more dangerous than living in Boise, if you moved to a small French town in the country, you'd be many times safer than living in Paris. The terrorists don't win when people take precautions. Besides, Paris, like most large international cities, is crowded and dirty and noisy.

If we left the U.S., as we have often discussed, it would likely be to settle down in Ecuador or Panama or Costa Rica. They embrace expats. Your comment about us not going nowhere is about as foolish as most of your comments. Americans retire in Central and South America every day.

We have superior healthcare to yours and for both of us we pay $34.90 per month. We both get dental for an additional $21.32, and vision for $14.62.Now, tell us what the French tax rates are like. I believe they hit close to 90% for some. I guess someone has to pay for socialized health care, other than you. If I ever decide to see what anti-Semitism looks like up close, I'll consider a trip to Paris. For now, I'll pass.
