You know that the greatest lie that adults tell children is that everything is going to be okay, the good always triumphs evil, that things will be alright in the end. Parents tell you youre safe in your bed and when you wake up the world will be just as you left it. The truth is, if you added it all up, at the end youd see its just as much bad as it is good. We are not in control of our own destinys. All we can do is hang on, hope that everything we love doesnt get taken away from us. Life is tough, mean, unfair. If Im honest I dont know if youre going to be okay - I dont - thats the truth. But I hope you keep hanging on and I hope you make a go of it. ~ Cuffs.

I disagree that we are not in control of our own destiny. There is always a path in which YOU chose!!! Otherwise I guess I'd sit in a boat all day soaking up the rays, because I mean my future is already planned. Poppy cock!!!!

Levi,

You seem to be missing one important concept.... "perception."

Yes, the half-full glass is half empty...... IF you choose to see it that way.

Life simply, IS. But, it is lived as you see it.

I would agree that sometimes life seems bad, nay, that it is bad. That is the whole point, this life is not our home, we are only staying here for a time.

Think of it as a hotel, you would never want to stay in a hotel for extended periods of time, even if it is a nice hotel, and especially if it isn't. It is only a stopping place when you are on your way home.

As a Christian, if you look to the world for happiness, you won't find it.

You can't really control what happens though. Our power only goes so far.

The best thing about a hotel is that u can check out at any time..life should be that simple. It'd be easier

I remind myself that if I think reality can be understood in my own puny logic, I'm a class A fool. But if I ask God to give me His wisdom, I know He'll let me see things in truth.

Are you kidding me? God didn't create anything bad. It was all good, He tells us in the book of Genesis. Sure, we experience a temporal journey on this earth. But your life didn't begin when you were born here.

God told Jeremiah, "I knew you before I formed you in your mother's womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you."

And David wrote, "You formed my inward parts; You wove me together in my mother's womb. I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well!"

You were known before you were birthed on this planet. And you're known now. And you always will be known. Time on earth is just a perception on this globe, not in the spiritual realm. And we live and move and have our being in the spirit of Jesus Christ right now and forever.

You ain't gonna check out of any hotel. There is no beginning or end with God. You were His always and will be forever. Nobody can pluck you outta His hand.

We are free to live an abundant life of joy and peace and love in Jesus on this earth that others are drawn to Him. Sure, there are trials and temptations and sufferings... but the Apostle Paul said he gloried in those hard times because it was an opportunity for him to forsake his flesh and witness Christ arise in him.

The world sucks when you walk by carnal sight in this world. But for those who walk in the spirit of Jesus Christ and who have surrendered their minds to Him, they witness LIGHT & LIFE!

You're right. God made everything perfect. Yet that was marred when man sinned. I totally agree with your last statement, which I was trying to get at when I said "As a Christian, if you look to the world for happiness, you won't find it."

Have u ever just felt like nothing u do really matters? Like why does it even matter if u end up in hell for it? Maybe God should just wipe out the human race before its too late

Lev, youre so young to be thinking such thoughts. Of course it matters. Have u read Ecclesiastes? Though appearing to be negative, many have been comforted in seeing that the passages in the Bible which reflect pessimism and doubt also offers the hope in God that gives life its meaning.

Don't thank like that kid I remember when I was a teenager my life was a mess. My family was real poor I was a little overweight, but you keep going until Christ truly shines in your heart and shows you the paradise He has created for those who do continue trusting in Him. I have also learned that we should never go by what anyone tells us what the will Christ left us says except God. Because while there may be similar, I truly believe that the will Christ left for us vary from one person to another.

Do you know anything about REBT? This a well-proven technique for changing how you see things. I have taught the use of it for more that two dozen years.

Google it, and spend a while reading up on it.

God sent his son to live a perfect life and die as a perfect sacrifice so we may be forgiven of our wrongdoing because he loves us so dearly. He did this so we can live an eternal life in his Holy presence, that is perfect love.

You are only 14 and I am sure you haven't done anything compared to what many of us have. When I was your age I hated everything about myself and others. My body image was so poor that I tried to starve myself. When that didn't work cause well I liked food I tried to binge and purge another fail, thank God. I had teachers and family tell me I wasn't ever going to graduate let alone attend college because I wasnt smart enough. I was miserable. Then right after I graduated high school my mom started having health issues causing me to spiral further downward. It wasn't until one Sunday that I went up for prayer and was born again and filled with the Holy Spirit. Since that time when I start having those thoughts I cast them to the pit of hell where they belong and asked God what I can take away from this experience. What I took away was a positive attitude, a deeper love and understanding of people and our heavenly father and I also found joy and peace doing mundane tasks like cleaning.

When you entertain these thoughts of self pity you are giving the enemy full control of your life. Why give him that much credit? He is out to seek, kill, and destroy. I don't want that for you or anyone else and you need to dig into God's word and allow God's love and mercy to surround you and see all of his blessings and allow him to change you.

when I was a teenager my family had a 1984 impala and I hated it. Things are different now and I would love to have that car back. What I am saying is that sometimes as teenagers as we try to find our identities we tend to forget how good our Creator is. All that time I thought I was being humiliated by riding in that car, turns out God had me cruising in style the whole time. What I'm trying to say is that sometimes our problems we have as teenagers are bigger in our minds than they really are in life. Hope you can understand what I'm trying to say.
