I had heard on CNN on TV they claim to have found the tail from some distance from the plane. This particular plane has had problems with its tail too. It is possible still it is a mechanical accident and not an act of sabotage.

Lol kinda written like its a Clue game by CNN, but it does have a pertinent part mentioning the maintenance history and the findings of the tail being apart from the wreckage.

Lol true, but yours is just random speculation from "western intelligence". As far as I have been following the story only Russians and Egyptians are actually on the ground right now investigating this. Mine is the one with the last news of actual hard evidence. ;)

Is a hard case though. Just the plane alone it's hard to tell if it is a mechanical malfunction or an insidious terrorist plot.

Then you have the propaganda wars on top of it. Western propaganda seems to want it to be a bomb plot to undermine Russia's role in the region. Russia wants to downplay it whether its mechanical failure or bombing because the Russians always try to sweep stuff like this under the rug. Islamic factions want to claim a victory whether they actually bombed it or not. What the real truth is, we shall see.

If only "truth" didn't depend so much on perspective.

Truth never depends on perspective.

The truth in this case so far is that a plane crashed in Sinai. The tail of the plane was found at some distance from the rest of the wreckage. So far no evidence of a bomb plot yet, though this is being theorized by certain factions not even connected to the investigation. Nothing has been ruled out yet, but as more hard evidence is presented to the public the picture becomes clearer.

Another plane in August nearly hit by missle.
Sinai plane 90% sure it was a bomb.
Many flights canceled.

This is a case of 90% propaganda and 10% hard evidence.

Here's the last article I had seen. Lol they claiming they are 99.9% sure of their own propaganda.
U.S. official: '99.9% certain' bomb on Metrojet flight - CNN.com

The only evidence for the bomb plot being presented that I can see is alleged intercepts that have not been confirmed or released of supposed jihadist "chatter." If you've ever watched the jihadists' videos or read their writings you'll know they chatter and boast and threaten to do a lot of stuff. Most of it never comes to fruition. Literally this Western intelligence evidence they keep talking about is just hearsay. Doesn't necessarily mean the jihadists were actually able to carry it out.

I'd still sit tight on this. From the more hard evidence that the media is broadcasting it is still plausible either way. To really know if it's a bomb or not they'll need to be able to confirm a jihadist was on the plane and that there's bomb residues and other such tell tale evidences. Anything less than 100% confirmation is just speculation.

Why would it take a jihadist to be on the plane? A ground loader sympathetic to ISIS would do.
Still, a plane just happens to break apart...over the Sinai...with mostly Russians, and a large noise heard on the black box...looking more and more like ISIS.

Aye could be a ground loader or airport worker too as you say, and that should be easy enough to prove or disprove with time, but so far it is not confirmed. Doesn't mean it's not so, but it's not been presented yet. Can only judge by the actual evidence we got so far. I had read about the black box. Indeed seems they indicate there is a loud sound, so this indicates the incident occurred midflight and suddenly and loud. That doesn't necessarily mean it was a bomb, doesn't rule it out either though. Neither the jihadist chatter nor the black box audio been released, so it's all hearsay.

To pretty much try to either conclusively prove or disprove the bomb theory two key pieces of actual evidence would be if there was a jihadist on board or with access to the plane. That can be solved simply, but is still time-tasking check through the flight manifest and airport and airline companies. The other piece of key evidence is some sort of physical/forensic evidence that a bomb detonated amongst the physical wreckage which is still being analyzed. That also can be proven, but will take time.

Whatever the truth is the people, namely these peoples' families deserve the answer and deserve it to be 100% confirmed.

It's a strange area to hold out. Very inhospitable ecology and a smattering of Bedouin tribes who consider you an enemy.

ISIS in Sinai held back by Egypt's Bedouins - CNN.com

The cool part is that the Howeitat are still active there. Just a hundred years ago, they were instrumental in expelling the Ottomans under Auda ibu Tayid, ally of TE Lawrence.

I'm usually very restrictive when it comes to questions of whom to arm in the Middle East. The Bedouins are a reliable and fairly pluralistic force. We should give them what they need to protect their lands and continue their good work against the ISIS savages.

Here is something I thought was appropriate.

Aud ibu Tayid has a message for ISIS.

Don't mess with tradcon who wants to be left alone and feed his family.

At least the actor didn’t look like he just cruised down the Thames :p

The funny part is, when I first saw that movie I thought Quinn was kind of like a proto Ben Kingsley. You know, a British actor still very familiar with the Thames, but born on the outskirts of the Empire to a colonial prefect and his wife. Whisked away to London at a young age to become as British as Winston Churchill and The Doctor.

But no, he's just a guy of Mexican extraction who lived much of his life in New England. How disappointing.

That depends whether you count NY or not, some debate over there on that. That way, maybe he got Puerto Rican-ized.

New England begins at the Hudson River.

But then I've probably been living in the South/Southwest too long.
