I just got done baking two batches of persimmon bars for my office peeps because I stupidly promised to make them treats for our meeting tomorrow. I was given a bunch of the cooking kind of persimmons and several were already overripe and would go bad soon.

I got very experimental - I made a cranberry paste which I spread on top of the bars. I tasted one...okay...two....and they are amazing! Except...

...their appearance. The cranberry paste makes it look like I spread some sort of tomato based sauce on meatloaf.

In the morning, I'll swirl a glaze over it and sprinkle with pecans. And once cut into bars, they will look more appealing - I hope.

I haven't been this excited about a new star wars movie since Return of The Jedi came out in the 80's. Can we still be friends?? :rolleyes:

Hey guys, been EXTREMELY busy lately. Missed the movie night and was pretty certain I lost the posting war too :p. Good thing you guys werent flapping your jaws in here as much as usual while I was away :p

Hi, Reece! *waves*

I cooked and ate some bear meat for the first time ever. The whole bear was given to my dad, and I helped cut it up. Really tasty. Now checking prices on stuff, so not as feral a job as I took on this morning. You?

me too. seriously. plus, i have a headache after i've had my dentist up to his elbow in my face.

sometimes i wish i could turn down the volume on consciousness. : ) my favorite time of day is that hazy newborn-morning time, when you're kind of aware of being awake, but kind of not.

i wish i could return to that time of the day when bad stuff has to be. : )

( by the way… For those of you wondering… Joe is one of the member crushes I had that turned me down... It's OK though...She's still awesome! )
 
I don't like it when the urgent things aren't the important things. Then I have to get those out of the way and by the time I get those out of the way, I have very little energy left for the important things, and I like to do those with energy, because they're, ya know...important. *sigh*
