Me: "That awkward moment when you make up a word that unintentionally sounds really, really bad in front of a whole group of people and you catch yourself... 10 minutes after you've said it... twice."
Friend: "If it's what I'm thinking about what you said that you think you said, yeah... that was really bad. I wasn't going to say anything, but since you've mentioned it..."

It would be a very long response, but we were discussing an essay titled, Salvation by Langston Hughes and then instructor was discussing a part of it and I commented about church and how we needed to think about it from their perspective many years ago rather than the present tense because church was very different back in those days along with some other things. I had to try so hard to keep the subject of God out of it because I didn't want any animosity between the instructor and myself, but he just stood there and after a few minutes he said it was a very eloquent response and gave him something to think about as the day goes on which in a way feels really good

Praise the Lord, praying for something to 'sink in' with him.God's word doesn't go out and return void, and anytime a 'professor' or instructor is even thinking about God, it's got to be a good thing, right? Way to go, cmarieh, for being a Real Professor...of the truth. God bless you.:)

I was fairly new in the company so they received the wrong info and had no time to do anything. They were rather relieved when they discovered it wasn't my birthday.

When it was my actual birthday they did decorate my office and took me out to lunch. They had a Mariachi band sing happy birthday to me, and I had to wear a Sombrero which was huge

Did you get to take the Sombrero home? I think I would have used it to smuggle out an extra order of nachos...:p

Huh? How on earth are you meant to discuss Christianity without mentioning God?

They were discussing salvation, not Christianity. Different religions believe you are saved different ways. They also have some really... um... different views of heaven.

I see. I thought the open forum class concerned Christianity, when what she was really saying is she brought up Christianity in the class.

Hey, Tiger sorry I didn't respond sooner was working on my homework. Lol. Anyways it was in my writing class and the instructor brought up a point of churches and how when a person gets saved or baptized people praising Jesus in what I perceived a mocking manner and it took everything in me not to go off and stand up for God, instead I prayed and allowed God to speak through me in response to his statement and that churches are very different then they were back in the day and a couple other things I vaguely remember now. You can't really talk about Christianity without talking about God and I just kept the response to the history of our faith rather than biblical references if that makes sense. It wasn't just the instructor that left deep in thought but I did leave other students with that as well. He wanted me to see him later in his office, I kinda thought I was in trouble, but said he appreciated what I said and brought up a very good point and was impressed that he left having to think as not many students have done that to him.

Hey, no worries, Tigress. Thanks for the explanation. Good on you for not getting angry and for letting God work through you in such a way. :)

That awkward moment when your ex mother in law starts every single conversation with, "Are you even listening to me?".
