Yea actually you raise a good point. Like.... I dont know the reference in the bible you talk about but... what do we do with parts of the bible like this. If Wolfie is right in his interpratation - ie old testament punishable by death for sex not for procreation - geez this is definitely an area that I dont imagine many couples would be interested in or complying. And what does that mean when it comes to birth control - I know its off topic but Wolfie raised a good point. Not that it affects either of us right now Wolfie hahaha
It's up to the couple I would say. Birth control is a post-biblical topic and under the direction of the Holy Spirit. I think birth control is wise...with everything use common sense. As for me, once I get married, I don't want children for a little while.

You could use that phrase to support condoms... God doesn't say in the bible that we can't use condoms. God didn't say Sex is ONLY for procreating either.
The issue too is not just about sin and submitting to the demands of the bible, there are practical issues outside of this, particularly in controlling raging epidemics affecting adults and children, especially AIDS and especially in Africa. For example in Botswana 23% of people between 15- 49 live with AIDS and 15000 children under 15 live with AIDS. 2800 people in Botswana died of AIDS in 2011 and there are 47000 orphans due to AIDS in that country. Sex either outside or inside marriage necessitates the use of condoms if the epidemic ever has a chance of being managed. While the world was justifiably worried about Ebola, AIDS in Africa makes Ebola look like a minor problem. So while, as Christians we advocate the practices of the bible, some serious practical realities have to be dealt with too.

God struck him dead because he decided to sleep with Tamar while intentionally not following through with the act. He took advantage of Tamar sexually and failed to provide her with an heir - an heir which under law and custom at the time would have been considered the son of her deceased husband.
The entire story is a property rights story, with sexual exploitation involved as well. Jumping from that to birth control is a bit of a leap isn't it?

Having sex before marriage is something bad.We have not to be like pagans because we're supposed to be in God's city where iniquity can't come in and paganism can't influence.For me,even though the bible said nothing about it,I wouldn't agree with those practices.And indeed,the bible says this:"Don't be immoral in matters of sex.That is a sin against your own body in a way that no other sin is.You know that your body is a temple where the Holy Spirit lives.The Spirit is in you and is a gift from God.You are no longer your own.God paid a great price for you.So use your body to honour God." See! and if we're supposed to abide by God's commands,this Word has to be an absolute for us.So,let's forget pressure but remind of the kingdom of Jesus which is coming sooner.I finally believe God wants us(young people) to get married and to be happy.keep trusting Him my brethren and sisters!!!!Sex before marriage isn't good.

When two people join in sex they share a spiritual bond. They in effect become one. Without the protection of the covenant,(an unbreakable vow before God), of marriage the relationship most likely won't last. When that happens it's as if both persons are torn in half, to be half a person. It takes some serious healing to get over it. In the marriage covenant there is also protection for any children that may come from that union. Marriage is a way for God to protect us from the result of flesh desire gone bad.

Lots of people my age n a little older are starting to have sex. It doesn't change my opinion of them one bit. My opinions are based on how kind n smart n gentle they are...not who they choose to date and what they do on it. I know a lot here believe god condemns for it but ... I don't condemn though.

Its not as simple as that cmon..pfft....now not that I know personally but........ sex is not some robotic sperm implanting act - whoa u make it sound so insensitive. Its a loving pleasurable act and...by the way... married couples will have sex whether they r trying to have kids or not - ru saying HEY ALL U MARRIED COUPLES OUT THERE - QUIT HAVING SEX UNLESS UR GONNA HAVE A BABY... if u are I don't think too many will listen.

The U.S is bad. Tv and entertainment promotes sex and drugs big time. Most of the guys I know don't believe waiting till marriage but I do. Most of the girls say they are waiting till marriage. The U.S is so far from God it's unbelievable....
