Firstly: Congrats! It's difficult to come out, especially in a christian environment.
What I heard from our preacher, was that being gay is not a sin, just giving in with the tempations is a sin :s
Some christians choose because of this to stay single for the rest of their lives, or to try to be with a female. This is a very hard decision, but I think it's the best one...

Christians do not congratulate people on their sins. no support them. You are better off being a non christian if you are going to do this.

The Bible tells us to love each and everyone, and we are not here on earth to judge eachother, and totally not to tell anybody what to do. It'd be better if we would be loving, helpful and caring for eachother.

I am just saying how it is, would you congratulate a person for robbing a bank? How about murdering? What about aborting a baby or having a divorce?
I am saying how it should be, we christians are not to tolerate sin but to try and strive for a christ like lifestyle. The least this person could have said to OP that they wouldn't mind helping them getting out of their sin and give them a little wisdom.

Diversity is used as a cheap trick... read below
The concept of diversity as you and many others use it... is used as a blanket statement to include anything a person believes in.
Here let me use it...
"Hey everyone, I think abortion is okay... I know this is a different opinion then yours but people we need to accept diversity"
"Hey everyone, I think Islam and Buddhism is okay... I know this is a different opinion then yours but people we need to accept diversity"
"Hey everyone, I think murder is okay... I know this is a different opinion then yours but people we need to accept diversity"

You can have everything okay with the idea of diversity...
Diversity is used often by liberals who just want to push their agenda by attacking you personally... basically.. if your not into diversity... something´s wrong with you... your intolerant... your ignorant... your... your....
Diversity is often used to guilt you into accepting sinful ideas.
P.S. - Twin studies has shown that homosexuality is not genetic, but by choice. People are not born that way... twin studies has shown twins to be 100% genetically the same yet one is gay and one is straight. Clearly if it was by genes then the twins would be both gay... since both have the same genes. Also, your not suppose to have sex before marriage.

Marit... being christian doesn't mean we turn a blind eye to sin. Love is not the only one of the virtues in the Christian faith. Christain are to teach, evangelize, train, and preach. This means we are tell people what sin is... and that shows Gods judgment on people. Are you to say that Gods judgments are to be ignored and we are to accept murder, rape, lying, and homosexuality. Are we to walk loveling while sin is around us? Please read the following verses...
James 5:20 remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of their way will save them from death and cover over a multitude of sins.
2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.

If you want to act in love Merit... then youd want to lovingly tell homosexuals about thier sin so they are enlightened about their sinful ways. You supporting homosexuality means your against homosexual people. Its not different from telling a lair that its okay to lie.

Why can't people just be nice to one another no matter what. None of you are better then anyone else here were all just humans on different paths. You've got your struggles and I've got mine. Making anyone feel like crap is not gonna deal with any problem. You talk about being Christ like but from what I know he made everyone feel loved and accepted, not worthless and hated. and honestly some of the way people respond makes me wanna keep being myself because if I'm not then what would I be like? Christ like? Some people say there christ like but all they do is hurt you. That's not what I want to be. I want to be the me that doesn't hate himself and being gay is a part of that me.
@Calmador - ty youve made your point that you dont support homosexuality and reiterated the bible's view from your perspective. Theres not a single person here with gay tendencies that isnt aware of the christian view of gays. Levi and planet were brave enough to talk of their feelings. Neither of them want to be attacked - who would. But they did want to highlight they are walking the same spiritual path we all are and, like many many people here and outside CC, have same sex attraction. I want to be their friend and I hope u will be too.

Guys, I think we're being taken for a ride. This guy who's coming out is the same guy who recently got a girl pregnant and the girl may or may not have had an abortion? Come on. Seriously?
I cant think like that Tin Tin. If he says something I accept it as truth. I am not in a position to judge anyone here - I have enough faults of my own.

Judgement is not evil or mean. Our parents tell us not to do things... our parents punish us... our parents tell us about the wrongs in life. (granted not all parents are ideal.. but you get the idea)
Parents use judgement through parenting... not because they are being mean or harsh but because they care their children.
I can only speak for myself... and tell you that I wasn't attacking anyone.
As for my viewpoint... I wouldn't say its foundationally my perspective. The ideas I expressed originally come from God's word. It's cystal clear that homosexuality is a sin. Did you know that Jesus implicility had something to say about homosexuality?? Here's what Jesus had to say... read carefully though..
Matthew 19:1-6
19 Now it came to pass, when Jesus had finished these sayings, that He departed from Galilee and came to the region of Judea beyond the Jordan. 2 And great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them there.

Jesus was talking about divorce. However, for our topic, Jesus said He (God) made us male and female in the context of marriage. On one hand we can see this as support for God creating only male and female... and support for traditional marriage which is marriage only between a man and a woman.

You said you wanted to be a friend. Proverbs also says something about that...
Proverbs 27:5-6
5Better is open rebuke Than love that is concealed. 6Faithful are the wounds of a friend, But deceitful are the kisses of an enemy.
^^^ This means that you should a friend is willing to tell someone the truth... even if its tough and may hurt for your friends to hear. Are you that kind of friend? Or are you an enemy who gives kisses that are deceitful?
