Beware of poems
that escape my brain
they might kind of rhyme
but they're mostly insane
like the folks in straight jackets
or like snakes on a plane
I'm sorry for this
but it lessens the pain

if I could siphon it out
through my ear or my nose
I totally would, but I don't have a hose
yeah, that's pretty weird...
oops, my phone up and froze

That's not even true
but there wasn't a rhyme
for whatever I said
now I'm just wasting time

it just doesn't make sense
that I'm feeling so small
yet at the same time
like I can conquer it all
Like I'm on top of the world
like curling up in a ball
like I'm an ant to be squished
like I'm a hundred feet tall

I hate that I'm like this,
so publicly strange
a book that you start
but stop after one page
a show that goes on
and gets booed off the stage
a ticking time bomb
that explodes in your face

Maybe this helped,
maybe now I can sleep
after showing my poisonous side
to you peeps...
gosh this is bad
and I'm sorry once more
for this craptastic poem...
I'll show myself to the door.
Sorry I'm late to the prayer, dear sister. Know I'll be praying for you. By the way, with a little polish, this poem or yours would make a funky rap song. Oh, gosh I sound old. Haha!

Waking up to your sister bossing you around IS NOT a way you want to start your day. -_-

Hmm. I remember once at work I got so tired of someone's complaining that I finally said, "Could you please stop complaining so much? You're depressing me." Somewhat blunt, but it worked. She stopped. And another coworker made a noise halfway between a laugh and a choking sound and immediately went off to do a job around the corner - she said later it was so she wouldn't laugh out loud in the complainer's face.

I hope you know how absolutely cool I think you are. And I have in-person time backing that up. :) Go on with your sleep-deprived, less-than-perfectly-graceful, awesome, and hilarious self. Me likey.

Friend? FRIENDS!! :D

Is it possible/probable that some ppl get thru ok because they have others on a daily basis who encourage, affirm, and pray for them, ... and other ppl don't do so good because no one encourages them, or affirms them, or prays for them on a daily basis? Just wondering...

Yes.

Though some don't get through despite encouragement, prayer, or affirmation. Sometimes heartache or mental illness can hinder even the most loving of experiences. :)

Praying your heart is eased, Sydlit.

*sigh* I hate moving. Once I finally get settled into a place...it'll be nice. I'm not sure how much change and shuffling around I can take.

Thanks, but for those that are left out, maybe if the care was genuine, consistant, and abundant, the heartache would lessen greatly, or perhaps not even occur, and those with illness might get cured. Many ppl may have access to aquaintances and well-meaning friendly anecdotes, but what they really need is a friend.

It's really really difficult to be patient, y'know that? Especially when it comes to people responding to e-mails. ESPECIALLY when they're someone extremely busy. I'm trying to be understanding. But sometimes waiting for e-mail responses make me so anxious because after so long I start to wonder if I said something wrong. I know I didn't, though! Bah...
I never think I have said something wrong! Never! How could I ???? {:confused:usually I am right, the others are wrong (do not laugh so loud!)}, I just sometimes am thinking if I had said all I must have said. :D

I'm not a big fan of bootstrapping, but this sounds like you are saying that it's everyone else's fault if a person experiences heartache.

In my experience, if you want to make friends, you have to display the kind of friendship that you are looking for. People are attracted to what they need. Mostly, I think, because we can understand the language of care. And if you don't have anything to give? It's time to go to God and get filled up. Well, heh, it's ALWAYS time for that. But God is the one who meets our needs, not other humans. If a person is needing a deep level of fulfillment, they should be seeking God first for it, because human beings cannot fill the void only God fills.

All we can do is encourage each other in faith or to faith in Christ - through whom we have relationship with the Father.

Hmm. Need to take a break from work and these four walls.

Guess I could go to Golden Ears Provincial Park in Maple Ridge BC. A 30-min ride from work...

Don't know what you mean bootstrapping. Wouldn't AT ALL blame others for others heartaches. Misunderstood. Just saying if they had ppl in their life who prayed and cared for them consistently, it might help ease their pain, and help avoid it in the future. I think we'd all be surprised to know just how many there are that don't really have anyone that cares enough to actually enter their world and be-friend them, and many try to hide it. It's hard to give away what you don't have, especially when rejection, ridicule, or chastisement is your common experience.

Olerica,

If you see this post, I was wondering, if I may ask, has the egg shortage had a big effect on your baking? I had thought about this when I first read about it, and even more so when I got fried rice yesterday and saw that the restaurant is substituting CORN for the scrambled egg. Bleh.

I understand it must be tough for the food business... But I went home and added two scrambled eggs myself.

I was wondering if you've had to change any of your recipes, too?

Nope. This is why utilizing small business farmers is so important. I get at least 5 dozen eggs every week. I don't change recipes, but in the last year I have had to effectively raise my prices.

As much as possible, I go straight to the producer. Go in with friends and get a cow together and split the butcher fees and come out with 1/6th of a cow... which is enough beef to last me over 2 years. (Yeah, you've got to have storage space for that, I know I'm blessed). I also get my chickens from the egg producer. I get whole chickens and butcher and freeze. Those older layers are mighty tasty!

But you get some exceptionally fresh stuff from people who care about what they are doing. And it's really quite cheap to do that. I freeze a lot of blanched and cut produce. And I eat on it all year. I'm not a huge fan of canning because of the time. I'm pretty tired when the bulk of the fresh season is going.
