I agree with this! We must accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. There are pew potatoes that won't
The Jesus we accept must be the Jesus of the bible and not the one we create from our own imagination. The One the Holy Spirit acting through the word of God the bible draws us to convicting us of sin, righteousness and judgment.

For the cause of Christ

You know, people that just sit in the pews and feel that's it. Don't ask them to be on a committee or join an organization. I know several like that. They are still my friends though. I talk with them about doing more sometimes.

I look back on this here thread and some of the same people are still going back and forth on Catholic pro/against arguments.
The guy that got banned has posts going back to June. Just how hard are we suppose to hammer this guy. Its going from trying to save his soul to nailing him on the cross. You call yourself Christians? You Catholic haters seem to enjoy the bullying and showing off you wisdom above others. Warn and move on. You are not making a dent here.

And, you Catholics I got a question for you? If you take away the notion that Peter is your first Pope, why did not the apostles call themselves Popes back then? If you were on a deserted island with the Holy bible by yourself would you think about praying to the Virgin Mary on your own?

What is this site for to try to convert people into one single manner of worship?
The bible is not clear. If it was why would we need this site?. For the smart ones to teach the dumb ones? You see what can happen to a church that takes gains power , they force their interpretation of the bible on you and make you worship in the manner that they want you to.
Taking away your free choice.

The Catholics can not deny that their church did forced people into submission, that's the bloody truth.

The bible is clear, but is it true? Nobody will know until they die.

What is interesting is Peter in his books always said he was an apostle of Jesus Christ, he never said the apostle. Which proves Peter never saw himself as a Pope or leader. It was Paul who the apostles look up to, even Peter looked up to Paul.

1 Peter 1:1
[SUP]1 [/SUP] Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ

Galatians 2:11-12
[SUP]11 [/SUP] Now when Peter had come to Antioch, I withstood him to his face, because he was to be blamed;
[SUP]12 [/SUP] for before certain men came from James, he would eat with the Gentiles; but when they came, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing those who were of the circumcision.

Galatians 2:6-7
[SUP]6 [/SUP] But from those who seemed to be something--whatever they were, it makes no difference to me; God shows personal favoritism to no man--for those who seemed to be something added nothing to me.
[SUP]7 [/SUP] But on the contrary, when they saw that the gospel for the uncircumcised had been committed to me, as the gospel for the circumcised was to Peter

God did not put Peter above all the other Apostles. Peter was to bring the Gospel to the Jews, not to the Romans like the Catholic Church teaches. If anything Paul would have been the Pope because God chose Paul to bring the Gospel to the Romans.

There are many many people today in every Church who really do not want to be involved in the politics of the Church. Being on a committee means nothing. I personally have seen people who claim to be a Christian wield power over who can and cannot be on a committee just by who they like or hate. Being on a committee is nothing more than people bragging about being on a committee!

I refuse to be on a committee where power is used to put other people down!

Hmmmmm.

So mwc68 lost it and got himself banned.

Galatians 5:22-23
[SUP]22 [/SUP] But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
[SUP]23 [/SUP] gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

It seems mwc68 lacked self-control.

Mwc68 really needed to heed our advice and study what God said in the Scriptures instead of listening to a Pope that see's nothing wrong with teaching that Muslims are our Brothers in Christ.

This is a good example of how people can get caught up in defending a Church. People need to understand its NOT the Church we belong to that counts. What counts is have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior!

Joelg, the Scriptures are very clear as to what God says.

The Problem is people think they know more than God and refuse to accept the Truth in the Scriptures. The other problem is people only accept what their Church says and reject what God says in the Scriptures. Then there are those who only accept what their Religion teaches and reject what God says in the Scriptures.

2 Timothy 3:16-17
[SUP]16 [/SUP] All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,
[SUP]17 [/SUP] that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

I can see just by what you have said Joelg that you have doubts that only God has the Truth because you said the Bible is not clear.

1 Corinthians 2:10-14
[SUP]10 [/SUP] But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.
[SUP]11 [/SUP] For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.
[SUP]12 [/SUP] Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.
[SUP]13 [/SUP] These things we also speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
[SUP]14 [/SUP] But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Its the Holy Spirit who teaches us what God has written in the Scriptures. Could it be JoelG that you do not have the Indwelling of the Holy Spirit and this is why you say the Bible is not clear?

All you have to do JoelG is accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and receive from God the Indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

Ephesians 4:30
[SUP]30 [/SUP] And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

Hmmmmm.

Do you really believe JoelG that the Bible IS NOT clear?

How can you claim to be a Christian and teach the Bible is unclear?

This site is for bringing the Truth in the Scriptures to those who are walking in Darkness. This site has nothing to do with converting people into one single manner of worship!!!!!!

This site is ALL about bringing Jesus Christ to those who have not received Jesus Christ yet!

What a fool you are JoelG. Repent and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior JoelG.

Its easy to call a person a fool if they do not believe in the bible. The fact that I am here proves that I am still seeking. There is different levels of understanding the bible. Should I just swallow it hook line and sinker. The bible was given to me by man, not God. So, how do I know they are not the ones fooling me. What is in the bible that is not refuted? Absolutely, nothing. Just look at this thread from I copied and pasted. Look how this Christian tries to explain what happen. Do you believe him or does my theory make sense?

Joel, what makes you think Noah and his family and the ark and animals were located in the Middle-East pre-Flood? We know there was a continental drift sometime in the past. Evolutionists and 'progressive' creationists would put say that event took place 100+ million years ago. But if we go from the Bible, that's not possible. Therefore, the only time the continental drift could have happened, without killing all people and every land-dwelling animal, is during the Great Flood of Noah's time.

Some where in you post here you say "could have happened", that means we do not know what really happen. I say it was the middle east because of the description of where the Garden of Eden was that was given in Genesis. Genesis mentions location, naming rivers and such. And also, god mentions seas andseperating land with water calling them sea and such.

After Ice age, after the retreat of the ice; there are signs in North America the land was carved by the ice. When I was in Oregon I wondered why there was giant boulders laying around the country side. I later read that when the ice retreated the boulders were left in those places, as the ice carried them; which makes sense. Also there are Mammoth fossils found in the north.

Say that is not possible if you go by the bible. Exactly my point. No mention about continents forming after the Noah in the bible. That would surely be something that man would have put in the bible if it was witness.

You do know that there is that possibility that the bible was created by man and not God. If the Ark was just floating around endless water with no land in sight, how convinient that they landed back where they started. Where do you think the Garden of Eden was located?

The animals that live on the north and south pole could not travel to the ark no matter where it was. It would be too far for the ones in the north or south to travel to it. Even it were on the equator, the temps would be to hot for them to survive. A Walrus, can you imagine; the task of walking to the Ark on dry land?

Why are people even on this site? If you are going to take the bible at face value, why bother to look at outside sources. So many things in the bible are impossible to believe. Starting with the creation. The only explanation we know is that god said let it be and there it was, not more detail than that. This is almost like a Genie could do. They put a whole lot of creation with just, let there be an it was done.

Your idea that the continental drift happen after Noah is the first time I heard of that. Fossil records of human bones can tell us where people were and how they migrated. And, to believe that all the animals on earth walked out of the Ark and walked to the lands they inhabited is absurd. You would think that would have offspring scattered all over not just in certain areas like penguins in the Antarctica. How could they survive anywhere else.

Perhaps this is why see have Atheist. The bible is a hard to swallow. The stories in the bible are just as unbelievable as believing that Santa Claus circling the Earth in 24 hours. Yes, if there was a God anything is possible, forget the laws of physics.

I am a borderline Atheist, I came to this site because I have not abandoned my faith in Jesus.
I am trying real hard to believe that we have a creator in heaven like the one mentioned in the bible. But, what I find here on this site that is that you literally have to accept the bible without questions; otherwise it does not hold water.

Where would the water recede to if the world was covered by water? And if the mountains formed after the flood, that would mean that the first part of Genesis is not true. Because it mentions let there be land. Go figure. And since no one has ever seen a mountain range form, all that must have happen billions of years ago, and not since Adams days. Or it would have been mention in the bible.

You know that when you were pagans, somehow or other you were influenced and led astray to mute idols. I want you to know that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, "Jesus be cursed," and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit. It is doubtful one can believe Scripture without the Holy Spirit of God, either.

First of all sweetheart, I was never a pagan, unless you are talking about when I was born in to a Catholic family. I am not looking to worship another god. I am having trouble believing in this one. Second of all, the Holy Spirit is not helping me accept the scriptures as truth. What spirit is dwelling in children to make them believe that Santa Claus is real? The holy spirit is in my thoughts, or what? How can the holy spirit make me believe that Jesus walked on water.
Is the holy spirit going to open my eyes and reveal that Elijah rode his chariot into the sky? The only way the bible makes sense is if you do not question it. And, there is a sucker born every minute.

Do you really love God or are you afraid to go to Hell. Why else would you even bother with believing in God if it were not for the real? At my age I have been in and out of many different churches. and, I find so many mesmerized and confused. Contradicting each others church.
I've been there done that and have had the God saves stickers on my car before. I have preached, gone door to door tracking. I have bought bibles for people and handed them out. I have given testaments of my belief in the Lord. I have paid tithing. I have played my guitar and sang in church, alone. I decorate my house every Christmas. And, today I question the truth of the bible. And, that's why I am here.

Why do yo love God? If you believe every word in the bible, good for you. I am not that lucky.
The bible is wrong because it takes more than the faith of a mustard seed to to believe that this is not man made. There is not enough room or would I want to take the time to show you all the things in the bible that surpasses logic.

You are taking the bible at face value period. Because, its the only way it makes sense. I am not here to convince as I think , I am here to be convinced otherwise. And, it hasn't happen YET.

Tell me JoelG, do you believe that Jesus Christ walked on this world 2000 years ago?

Do you JoelG believe that Jesus Christ is God?

John 3:16
[SUP]16 [/SUP] For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Do you believe JoelG that Jesus Christ is the begotten Son of God and whoever believes in Him will not perish?

It does not matter at this point if you cannot believe the Scriptures are the Truth from God. What does matter is have you JoelG accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior?

The problem JoelG is how can you have the Indwelling of the Holy Spirit in you if you have doubts about Jesus Christ being God?

The problem is not with the Bible. As i see it the problem you are having is you really do not believe Jesus Christ is God. If you cannot believe that Jesus Christ is God then how can you believe the Bible is from God? Its not a matter of trying to convince you that the Bible is True, its a matter of you having doubts that God is real. This is the problem that you are having JoelG and you are not the first person to have these doubts.

It takes a leap of Faith to truly and completely believe in Jesus Christ! Its by Faith and Faith only that you believe Jesus Christ is God.

Not everyone who hears the Gospel of Salvation accepts Jesus Christ right away. It take sometimes days or months or even years of witnessing to a person before they completely put their trust in Jesus Christ.

I have heard stories of some who accepted Jesus Christ the very first time they heard of him, and i have heard stories of some who did not accept Him until they were on their deathbed.

Everyone is different. It took me a couple of months before i accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.

I bet there are many people on this site who did not at the first time of hearing about Jesus Christ accepted Him. I bet there are some who waited.

I was quoting Scripture there... and it still applies. Only the Holy Spirit of God can lead you to repentance and belief. If you are walking through the desert right now, I suggest a discipline of prayer and meditation. Do you get down on your knees to pray on a regular basis?

Just wanted to let you know that I am happily married for 35 years and have a beautiful family.
I do not care for the things of this world.

My only problem is that I do not believe the things in the bible happen. So, it hard to accept Christ. To many unanswered questions that arise from reading the bible. If I knew the bible backwards and forward and could recite every line by memory, that would mean I know the stories in the bible. Its like believing that Columbus discovered America. That's what I believed as I was growing up. Never questioned it. But, if you stop to analyze it; "Wait a minute there were people already here, how can that be?

I gave my life to Jesus and I took it back. The bible challenges all forms of logic. I do not believe there were penguins and Walrus on the Ark. I can think about 10 things and more of stories in the bible that I believe to be impossible and unexplainable. Yes, if god were real anything is possible.

I hate to say it but, I need more proof. It says in the bible when talking about doubting Thomas, "how more blessed would you have been if you did not need proof. Sounds like God is going to hold something back from him, but what?

I am not depressed, and there is nothing I am doing now then, when I was a bible toting Christian. I do not want to disrupt your Christian Chat site. I really enjoy my visits here. I think you all are great people. But I do not belong in here. I do not want to spoil the party so I'll go. And, all because I do not believe Penguins and Walrus were on the Ark.

I wrote this a year ago, I wanted to be a missionary. I even posted this on YouTube. I sang it at a Methodist church.

I think what turned me off about God, besides not liking the bible is watching the Catholics in my family. They live a life that you would not recognize a a Christians, I tell them that they are in the wrong church, I point out things to them. The same stuff we been discussing here that nobody can agree on. And, that why I so much time on this thread. And, I think, if they believe in that then I might as be an Atheist. What's the difference?
There must be no God if these people are that messed up. And, you protestant Christians know what I am talking about. I am really giving up.

When I played this song for the first time the arrangement just came to me like from deep inside of me and I felt like it was inspired. And, I posted my practice session because I probably could not duplicate it the same.

Open The Door a poem by JoelG
a poem by JoelG:

Lord, I am trying to make sense of it all.
I'm just about ready to crawl,
Don't want to be here for the fall.
And, I don't know who I can call.

Lord, what has happen to all of your people?
They don't come and don't fill up your steeples.
They don't seem to care.
And, it happening everywhere.

Do they not understand what you have said,
that their soul will be judged, as soon as they're dead.
By the one who is just, who died for our sins,
Who was sent to this earth and was not welcomed in.

Oh Lord, give me the strength to warm my brothers,
Who have left you for the love of another,
The wicked one who has them mesmerized,
who's leading them to a false paradise,
And, they don't even realize,
He's got control of their lives.

Help me Oh Lord, your power is great,
Shine the light on the road I must take.
I need your guidance, for you know I am weak.
It's you love, that I yearn and I seek.

I heard you knock, and I open the door.
Now, I don't fear the beast anymore.
With you by my side, now I feel safe.
I love you and am yours to save.

Lord, please help me to understand these things more.
Now, help me to show others how to open that door.
The one that you are knocking on and yearn to come in.
The one if we open will drive us from sin.

I heard you knocking, I open the door.
Now, I don't fear the beast anymore.
With you by my side, I feel so safe inside.
You drove me away from my sins,
And forgave me for all my sins.

Let Jesus in.
He's waiting for you.
Open the Door.
Open the Door.

The problem is JoelG is that you never have put your full trust in Jesus Christ. Everybody goes through periods of drought and doubt. Look at some of the Christian giants, many went through tough times in their walk with God. Its not easy to walk with God if your eyes are on the World.

Satan does his best to keep us from walking with Jesus Christ.

If you think you have had a hard time with family you should have walked in my shoes. I was born and raised in the Catholic Church. My whole family was Catholic. When i was 20 i left the Catholic Church and accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.

All of my family turned their backs on me. I was an outcast in my family. I went through the same and worse of what you are going through.

Do not give up yet. Hang in there. Keeping praying to Jesus Christ, asking Him to help you through these difficult times you are going through. Even Paul went through tough times, and you will not be the last one to go through trials.
